Awesome trail run down New River Trail from Interstate 17 all the way to Cave Creek, Arizona. Lots of rocks, ruts, hill climbs, switchbacks, and water crossings. Cool trail with great scenery. If you are thinking of running this trail, check out the video. Ran in a stock 2021 Jeep JLU Rubicon on 33s. Enjoy the video. Thanks for watching!

This trail is best around Monsoon season. The river crossing is a blast and there is plenty of mud for everyone.

@Trail89Adventures 2 месяца назад
I could see those crossings getting crazy flooded with a solid monsoon storm.

14:22, I passed this rock garden in my mostly stock-ish TJ. I have a front 2in lift, rear True-Track. I made it just fine. It was also dark so I didn't know about the bypass.

18:38 Many of the old windmill pumps have been replaced with Solar in the past 10 years. Normally they keep the windmills up, i guess because so many people use them for navigation.

For some reason I was really looking forward to the windmill. HaHa was disappointed to see it gone.

@@Trail89Adventures There are tons around the KofA NWR. I imagine that area is too remote for them to be worth hauling out.

Just did this trail today I had to cut it short wish I could have gone all the way to seven springs. All I know is I need a lift and bigger tires on my stock Tacoma 😂

Just found this video. Very nice. Great music and video work. I've done that trail 4 times and made 4 videos about it. 3 times in a side by side and 1 time in my stock 2022 Ford Ranger. Believe it or not. I think my videos are similar but I do throw in some drone footage. The best part of that ride is the "Snyder Rock" area.

Hey thanks! The videos take time but I enjoy it. It was a fun trail. Where is the Snyder Rock part? Probably saw it but didn’t know the name. I will have to check out your channel.

@@Trail89Adventures The GPS coordinates on Google Earth are 33.982207,-112.000351. I'm sure you will remember going by them. They are incredible. Check out my last 2 videos because they have a lot of drone footage of Snyder Rock and why it's called that. (the nickname) I've been kinda binging your videos. Good stuff !

I use to live in AZ about 11 years ago. The west side from what I’m seeing is nasty with liter. Not as nice as when I use to go back down to an old ghost town called Galette along the river and farther back an old mining town called Tip Top. 3 of us are leaving here ( Amarillo TX ) to do the 3 Jeep Badge Of Honor trails on the 21st of May. Spend a day or two camped at Sheep’s Bridge. Then we’ll go across rim road 300 to Heber and head home.
@Trail89Adventures
@Trail89Adventures 2 года назад
@@WanderOverlanders yeah the badge of Honor trail is on the West side of 17. I didn’t venture over there for the exact reasons you stated but will probably eventually. Schnebly Hill looks like a very scenic trail and Backway to Crown King is extremely popular. Haven’t done it yet though. Sounds like a great trip. Have fun.

The obstacle at the 11:04 to the 11:55 mark is the result of heavy rains washing the boulders down the mountain side. I have done this trail on my side by side numerous times, and these started to appear around 2020 ish. Same is true of the obstacle at the 14:10 mark.

So can this trail be done in a two wheel drive? I've been wanting to do it.
@Trail89Adventures
@Trail89Adventures 2 месяца назад
Definitely need four wheel drive with low range and high clearance. This trail has some pretty rough boulder fields with no bypass.

I think like 4-5 hours but I go pretty slow and filming it to make these videos takes a while. This trail is pretty rough in sections.

About 5 and a half hours for the 24 miles. That was from Interstate 17 to the Seven Springs camp ground. I was filming and taking pictures so that adds a little time as well.

Have you been up to seven springs from Table Mesa used to be a ranch there about 1/2 mile from where turned to dirt off I17 woman had about 50 dogs they all come out run along your vehicle barking this was back in the 90's last time I took the trail. One time she came out and started yelling at us claimed I was going to fast I was going 20 mph. She didn't like people coming down that road. The ranch was before you go through the 3-wire cattle gate it was some wood and 3 barb wires had to re-hook it back. Last time I drove past it the home looked boarded up that was back in 2014 I'm sure the property is sold, and someone lives there now.

At 9:10 you should learn to use low range more often. It will make it easier on the drivetrain by doing so. Obstacles will be conquered much more easily when you use every thing that that the vehicle has to offer. ie low range, sway bar disconnect, hill descent, airing down the tires and lockers(when wheel slippage is occurring). Wheel spin is not good for the terrain or your vehicle's components so if you have a locker learn to use it.

Looking at this again seems like I had it in 4 HI for some reason. 4 LO would have definitely been the better option there.
