The 11’ 4-10 is an absolute truck and another gem from the lineup is the 8’6 rated 1/2 - 1.5 oz. For a light tackle schoolie rod, or albie setup, and at $80, it’s incredible. Tsunami has never tried to reinvent the wheel. They simply take products that exist, refine them, and bring them in at incredible price points.

I have the 8-ft and 9-ft Trophy II rods in Medium-Heavy power. The 8-footer cost me $79.99, and the 9-footer cost me $89.99. With the 8-footer, I was able to cast a 2-oz. bucktail/teaser fluke rig out to 70 yards. With the 9-footer, I was able to cast a 3-oz sinker on the end of a leader with a hook on a dropper loop with clam, out to 120 yards from the beach. Really amazing rods. However, the $179.99 rod in Xtra-Heavy (you didn't say how long is was), is only $20 less than Tsunami's Air Wave Elite, which I have on 9-ft and 11-ft in Medium-Heavy. At that price point, I would just opt for the Tsunami Air Wave Elite.

I have 3 of these Tsunami Trophy 2 series rods. The 7’ the 8,6’ distance model and 9’ rod. I have to say for the value they are great. Have several fish under my belt on these on all 3 models from fluke to 20lb bass, big blues and albies. Absolutely recommend these for anyone that doesn’t want to break the bank and purchase a quality rod, action is great, durable and reliable for under $100 a pop great entry level rods !

There's a lot of competition when it comes to fishing rods but Tsunami and Tica in my opinion are the best option for the money and good craftsmanship. Sure to say nothing beats a Custom hand made rod but the reality is no one is spending $200-$300 for a rod anymore unless is a hardcore fishing guy this days and the declining in fish is not helping the business now people are opting for light tackle setups instead. Looking forward to watch the next video. Awesome channel.

Been jigging the canal with the xtra heavy 11’ 4-10 a lot this season. Have it paired with the BG6500. Love it. Thing is an absolute tank. It seems a little beefy for topwater plugs but it will work if you get the action down right. Can’t wait to get a 40lber on it and put to the real test

Bought 3 tsunami trophy surf rods. 2 fell apart within a year. They replaced one free, now they refuse to respond to emails, so I had the other professionally repaired. Then the reel seat fell apart..save your money and get something better.

I'm starting to diversify my brand loyalty now days. To be honest down here in North Carolina we have Academy Sports and I'm going to give their H2O Express line of rods a try. Side by side they feel just as good as the Tsunami & Penn Surf Rods, only they cost $49.95 and have a life time warranty on them. That alone will be hard to beat for the price, if it breaks you simply take it back to the store and get another one. No receipt needed either. But I've looked at some of these Tsunami rods and they do feel good and seem to do the job for the average joe.

I bought the 11ft 2-6 months ago, waiting for the right time to use it.. Tsunami rods are good been using them for years. ODM is great also have 2 rods from them but definitely pricey

Bought the 10’ casting model, like the slim blank. I’ll let you know when I hook up how it performs. Think that 8 footer would be a great jetty rod!

I love tsunami rods! Surf and boat rods... that acid wrapped trophy rod is a pleasure to fish all day with on a boat. Better than the shimano trevala

Looking forward to parts 2&3. I'm in the market for a new rod. I have a high-end Japanese surf rod but don't like the feel of the rod. Looking for something more parabolic. I've been thinking about replacing it with an ODM rod.

I have the 9' MH ($89.00) and the 11' H ($109.99) for the canal. Only caught a cocktail blue with the 9' so I cant really comment to much. If I catch any fish I'll do a follow up upon my return from the canal in a couple weeks.

Tsunami Trophy II is way underpriced!! Such a perfect rod for throwing light lures, sensitive and tough for this price range.

What is your take on the 8'8" elite series rod with the 70/30 split... Giong to Florida in July to fish the Beach for the first time. Any tips on what to throw from the beach. Thank you...

Clifford Zuber bought the 8'8" elite a few days ago. Very nice. Threw jigs as low as 3/8- lures to 1 1/2 oz. casted far. Have a shimano stradic 4000 paired with it. 20lb sufix braid.

Will be going to Panama City Beach to fish. Forgot to add that. The rod cost me $179.00. I hope for that price that it is a great rod. 1/2 to 2oz at 12/20 on the line... Thank you... Any and all suggestions r appreciated.

Hope the rod works out for you. There's a much less expensive alternative ... a 9 ft. Ugly Stik - MODEL # USSP902M - it's rated from an ( absurd ) 1/8 oz up to 3/4 oz. . However, you can ignore that high number. With a 10 - 12 ft top-shot of mono ( 15 - 25 lb ) in front of 20 lb. braid, it can throw 1 - 2 oz of Lead or Lures all day. Absolute max is a 3 oz. weight under a two-hook dropper rig. The beaches on the Panhandle are slow sloping, and have few obvious breaks or run-outs. Checking out the water at dead low tide is recommended, as is looking for concentrations of small washed-up clamshells. Save yourself a lot of hassle and use "Fishbites" for bait ... Sand-Flea, Shrimp, and Clam flavor, in White or Pink. ( beware hard, stiff, baits at discount stores. They should be soft and pliable, and they'll stay that way for a year if wrapped up and stored in the fridge. ) For a reel, three inexpensive choices: Okuma Ceymar 55, or Okuma Epixor 40, or Okuma Azores Z-40. Anything larger is overkill unless you're fishing at night, for Shark. Otherwise, dawn and sundown are good, especially on either side of high tide. During the Summer, you'll appreciate the cooler temperatures as well. A few Pompano might still be around, but there will be Whiting, small Shark, and the dreaded Hardhead Catfish. ( be very, very, careful ... unhook them with pliers lest you get stuck ... it hurts for days. ) Have fun, and don't forget the sunscreen, Polorized shades, and a big hat.
