@@unkarsthug4429 yeah, if they wanted them to stack, they'd kinda have to rework the entire deckbuilding UI a bit to have the option to pick what style they default to, like MtG Arena. Nobody should wanna be like MtG Arena.
iirc that's essentially what happened in Journey to Ungoro. Whilst there were only nine classes at the time, the first quests were implemented, meaning each class suddenly had 2 legendaries each. I think there were 4 neutral legendaries in that particular set. (note that Mean Streets of Gadgetzan introduced tri-class legendaries, but seeing as they were split between classes they really feel more like neutrals kept away the newer classes)
@@sosukelele take goblins vs gnomes it had 11 neutral legendaries now take the newest set march of the lich king theres litterally only 5 neutral legendaries
@@shadow5273 tbf if you play less classes I see that as a positive since I only need to craft/pull the legendaries I need for my class and the few legendaries I need in my decks. More neutral legendaries the way they're designed recently where they just generic power cards that go in almost every deck just makes the game more expensive
This is even more true when you factor in that more classes will come. I feel like in one of his AMAs iksar said the priority for new classes was DK>HS original>Monk. Assuming this is still true then over the next few years we might see at least two more classes. That’s 4 legendaries less in each expansion after. That’s not even factoring in Evoker or the ability for more than one HS original class or new wow class to be made.
thank you for your dedication to Hearthstone, I stopped playing a while ago but stayed subscribed to your channel to help you having visibility. I really wish you the best
Right now I reached level 202, a bit more than the last expansion. 92% gameplay achievements completed just because I enjoy doing those with the limited cards I have. Unfortunately this is the last time I'll try to complete all the new expansion achievements, they are just too grindy, it takes a lot of time and I simply can't afford to play that much anymore. I'll just complete my quests every 3 days for now. I'm not really pleased with my decision but it had to be done. This game can become really addictive, so it's hard to truly give up on it.
I have one main issue which is scaring me a lot coming into this new expansion. Signature cards cannot be disenchanted and will replace the two golden legendaries from the prepurchase which had a value of 3200-6400 dust if we consider the possibility of nerfs. I will now loose that dust value, possibly for some cards that will never see play, taking resources and value from me. Alongside this, from what I, understanding you will now be able to open signature cards in normal packs. This will lower the dust I would make by disenchanting cards from packs. I am waiting to give a final judgement in regards to signatures but to me, so far, it seems like a dirty and underhanded way to reduce the dust I can gain from packs and pre-purchases in general. Just wished they worked on other issues in the game instead of creating this useless new cosmetic which seemingly screws players over. Too much too ask it seems.
One Thing you must Note is the fact that signature cards in normal Packs don't replace legendaries but common cards so you will only loose 5 dust per signature card
@@schlindus3676yeah, but he’s specifically talking about the mega bundle. Which is just straight up less value than it used to be. Golden cards are worth more than signature cards, no way around it
I'm on level 224 this season (without tavern pass) and I have completed 100 % of the achievements, since it's the one thing I enjoy the most every expansion. I just want to add I love your videos. It really shows how much work you put into it! Be well and stay safe!
The filtering options for your HS collection exist in Gwent which operates on a much smaller budget with fewer devs - which is a shame that they made a better product with less
I like the diamond cards. I first thought that they are unnecessary and silly. I like the new signature concept and really hope that they will make them more appealing in the future. Like you mentioned the poll about the two different options. As long as they give me a paying customer only visual advantages I'm cool with that. I have made a f2p experience and I have to admit that I got tons of cards just for playing with the game. Seems friendly to new players. I'm around level 150. Probably will reach 160. I think the achievements are too demanding. I get bored with the same things over the and over. However that is a neat way to get a lot of XP. Zeddy definitely helps you with that. So my gameplay - Castle Natharia is 17% Current level: 150 Thanks for the enormous effort you put in the videos!! Now at the end of the Natharia expansion, could you please reevaluate the needed packs for the completion? Considering the free stuff and rewards track rewards and free packs for the weekly tavern brawls etc. How close were you with the predicted numbers?
My rewards track level: 162 (no tavern pass) My gameplay achievements for Nathria: 2% (yikes) Note: I only play wild and had only a little need to play the latest cards.
I've reached level 392 on the rewards track and will most likely reach 400 before March of the Lich King. I play a fair bit, but I've mostly done this by afk farming in mercenaries (I also have the paid rewards track and therefore the 20% xp boost). When it comes to achievements I don't really play for them or go out of my way to complete them. For Castle nathria I have got 25% of the achievements.
I’ve been seeing people talk about AFK farming in mercenaries. I didn’t realize that was a thing. Do you just go into a bounty and let it stack up time until you return?
@@SloppySyntax you can farm by loading up a bounty, can do the first one, load first match, go afk for 29 minutes then finish. You need to finish before 30minutes ends because you might get disconnected and xp gain stops.
Level 260 on the Rewards Track, 58% on Achievements. Usually, I go for 72%-75%, but I spent time trying Mercenaries. Hope you guys keep yourselves safe. As always, love your work!!!
The biggest issue in my opinion is still that you can't direct your card acquisition towards completing one deck at a time. For example if you buy 30 packs at the start of an expansion, then you probably won't be able to complete a single deck since the cards you get will be spread across all classes, and you won't have enough duplicates to craft what you're missing. The only solution is to buy even more packs or to dust cards for crafting, and dusting non-duplicates (mainly epics/legendaries) is counterproductive if your goal is to eventually complete the set.
Great work guys!!! The price increases are definitely lowering my interest in the game for several of the reasons you describe. On my main account I've reached rewards track level 174 and my MaCN achievement percentage is 22 - I don't actively try to complete the achievements. I used to also play on a seperate FTP account as well, but it seems impossiple to keep up... And if you additionally want to play on several servers, the game turns incredibly expensive 😕
I'm a premium player with a full wild collection lol. I can afford to keep up with my full golden decks of anything I desire to play every expansion. I just found this video to understand how signature golden packs work. Great work in educating the community. You bet Blizzard has tons of resources dedicated to milking people so it's good to have you reverse milking them so people can min max. Either way it would be constructive if you actually like the game, which it seems you do or you wouldn't bother to make such detailed videos, to support the developers and not get too stingy if you can afford it. If you're poor then I understand. I just take it as supporting the game I enjoy and everyone benefits. The more money they make from whales the less they have to go after f2p and poor people money. We should think more win-win otherwise we're no better than them
Level 211 (with the tavern pass); 31% Castle Nathria achievement completion. Thank you for the fantastic videos - especially considering the existential threat, blackouts and more that you and your countryfolk face. Slava Ukraini!
180, 16%. Played loads of BG and only just got back into the game. mostly played Imp lock, Ramp/Aggro Druid and Relic demon hunter. Got that by nuking my wild collections so i could get back after a 2-3 year break. BGs really got me back into the game.
I’m at level 244 on the track and I bought the season pass. I’m at 34% because I don’t really pay much attention to achievements. I like it when they pop up, but I don’t go out of my way to get them.
I love your channel! I played since 2015, but I gave up playing yesterday after I met marvel snap. I think Blizzard took too long to improve the game. I wish luck to you who will continue with content about the game!
Thanks for this video. Always nice to see you there. It's not specified in your breakdown about the drop rates, but I suppose it's better you open packs first then the signature packs for those who bought the megabundle Right now, I'm level 219 (with Tavern Pass) and 31% in gameplay, but because the next xpack is included here's a breakdown (listed from Nathria to Classic) : 12 / 20 / 22 / 43 / 30 / 44 / 11 (Core Hydra) / 16 (Core Gryphon) / 17 / 67. I don't play to complete achievements, especialy because you can't progress within Casual and I won't tank in ranked for them.
Hello thanks for all the data as usual. I am on level 225 with the tavern pass and on 25% of the achievements for Castle Nathria. Sadly a lot of the achievements are tied to having legendary cards and as a free to play gamer (apart from the tavern pass and some promotional in game bundles), all the packs I open are from the gold I collect in game and my legendary opening rate is not the best. I normally get a legendary only each 30 or so packs and not the average 20 as expected. So even with the staple legendaries we get at the start of an expansion per norm I get 9-10 of the legendaries per expansion and only craft some if really either like the class they belong to or want to try a specific deck, not for achievements.
I only recently realized just how annoying it was to have only 4 cards on one page because they could not simply combine golden and normal cards together.
im at level 333 without the paid pass and ended it up with 49% of nathria completion since I don't own all cards and missed the early days of the expansion. i've also done a fair amount of mercenaries afk farming. thank you for the great video!
Level 189 (with the tavern pass and pre-purchase bundle bought) apart from playing almost everyday ranked and battlegrounds, 27% Castle Nathria achievement completion. Thank you for your content!
Welcome back. Atm I'm at a grand total of 963 Level 120 for Castle and only 7% Achievement completion. I've slowed down on completion due to just caring less about achievements in general.
Thanks a lot for your very good video. As you ask, here are my numbers; level 254 for the track (with the ticket) and 27% completion of the Nathria expansion (I have absolutely no interest in this completion except for the hidden quest)
the problem with heartstone in my opinion is that it doesn't favor the free to play player, because if they did something to facilitate the creation of decks without spending hundreds of euros or dollars, a free to play player would occasionally buy a few packs simply to have more cards or some skins, instead so many players leave and what remains are always fewer. For example, I haven't played this last expansion but I'd like to play this one from the lich king because the class looks fun, now I hope that buying only the $50 pack will give me enough to at least make me a nice deck and not make me regret the money spent.
130 on level track and 15% on Castle Nathria gameplay achievements. Not very interested in get those strange achievement points. But I saw that Lich King Gameplay Achievements award you with progress on level track so I guess I will try to get more of achievements in new expansion) Thanks for the great video btw!
Level 289 and 11% on the Nathria gameplay completion track. I play far more Battlegrounds than ranked these days; I usually only play to Diamond 10 just to keep my 9 star bonus each month. Thanks for all your great work and videos!
Thanks for the insightful video mathematicians. During the Murder at Castle Nathria, I reach rank 184 with the premium rewards track with a progress of 46%. I saved up a lot of my gold (6k) for this coming expansion which looks way more exciting. I appreciate a breakdown of the benefits for buying the Mega bundle as it is something to consider when competing in this expansion.
83 on the track and 2% completion in Castle Nathria. I've mostly played in anticipation of the new class since the launch of this expansion, in addition to what little I played at the release of Nathria
Lower demand = Lower Prices. I am not sure why they decided that making the game more expansive will attract more players or make players pay more. The main reason I almost never bought anything in Heartstone was that literally everything is so damn expansive. A 80 euro bundle each expansion is audacious. The value per dollar for the shop is very low. Therefore occasional spenders and semi f2p players will see that there is no point in investing a few dollars per week or per month since unless they pay big they get very little in return. I liked the idea of the mini sets of 2000 coins. This is indeed a way for free players to get more stuff. Battle pass should have been 10$ as in most games. And do discounts to incentive players to purchase. I will actually don't mind spend a little bit if I get a nice discount once per month.
Currently level 243 on rewards track with 18% of missions complete in nathria section. Play mostly battlegrounds though, hit legend 1 time this expac and only climed to dia 5 for the rest
Great job lads! Thx for everything! Well, tbh i just hate playing normal since the very first separation of wild/normal back then. So i play strictly wild with my beloved hunter decks and having fun. Dont know if it ll help you or not on your statistics, but im at 152 on the track (pass activated) and a whopping 1% at Narthria. :)
i would like to be able to do quests outside of PVP. not everyone plays this game every day and not everyone spends $620 every 3 months. And not everyone wants to build a hardcore metadeck that wipes the entire board every turn and gives you 36 mana in one turn. i get it, they want to promote pvp, but pvp itself doesnt promote pvp. i went into a game with a loaner deck, packed with legendary monsters, and my first opponent (at the lowest pvp rank which is like, chicken 10 or something) and I got beat. i mean if the lowest rank of player is still full of people using insanely powerful meta decks how is this condusive to encouraging a pvp environment? and if they really just wanted to promote pvp why do they have AI adventures, mercenaries, and expert duels? They do plenty of non-pvp because they -know- how toxic card games are when its meta vs noob every time. (and there's no "getting better" its just "buy better cards"). So since they know AI is popular, why not let us complete quests ? Give us a track thats only for pvp and a track thats only pve. thats fair. right now i have no reason to play because ill never unlock anything unless I just flail angrily against meta decks until i get a win, at which point the only wins i get are people who forfeight when they get a bad hand.
You guys have got it wrong and need to check pack openings on reddit from this past weekend. " Seems that the signature legendary check happens before the guaranteed rare check. First, the game generates your pack contents and ends up with all commons. Then for each common, the game rolls for a signature legendary, gets one and replaces the common. Then it checks if you’ve gotten at least a rare or higher. Seeing as a signature legendary is there, the check passes despite generating all commons in the first place. Whereas before, this scenario was impossible since there wasn’t any additional rolls for bonus rarities. "
Nathria - 43% Rewards Track lvl: 217 I push and earn legend every month so I am probably playing more than the average player just fyi another fact for your research data. Good luck.
Level: 400 Achievements: 16% I have the pass and played a lot of Classic this expansion, to reach legend there for the first time. Also of course I farmed AFK mercs
Came back to HS around the middle of November and this is my first time interacting with the rewards track: Rewards track - lvl 54 18% of Castle Nathria collected 12 Nathria Packs Opened(36 left to a guaranteed Legendary) 10 Standard Packs Opened(6 more to a Legendary) Pretty much exsausted my motivation to collect cuz: Overall I can't put my Control Warlock ideas to work since I am missing Finishers and other Legendary card tools. I struggled through netdecks untill I got to Gold with Knights of the Frozen Throne cards in a Warlock Tempo deck. Now I just die on turn 5.
Level 216 (with tavern pass ), nathria achievments at 16% Note: Was bored these last 2 months so played very little may have even skipped a few quest, but did the grind to legend in wild
level 195 and 44% achieved. I only complete whatever my decks make happen and probably could have farmed some exp if I didn't get tired of certain decks rather quickly
Level 210 on reward track 90% castle nathria completion (missing 1 legendary and 2 other rarities), pretty hard spender 41% on gameplay achievements for nathria
Hi i'm doing f2p, on the ledder i'm at level 206 and i recived 68% on the reward track of the last expansion. I'm not a huge fan of cosmetic cards and when i would have the opportunity to swap any of these for a chance of having more dust or a wider varity of cards i would do it. I do only wild because i can keep my cards and on the long run i think it is cheaper for me to as playing standard. I also play on mobile only on my android tablet. I play since the end of 2018 and do it constantly. I spend nearly 50 euro in total for cards since then. In general i built meta decks because of the strong deck tech design, my own builts are to to expansive fo me in comparison to time for built and outtrying and crafting. I do ownbuilts more or less for fun rather than competetive play. Thx for your great content love you guys.
Rewards track: 176 (No tavern pass) Gameplay progression: 38% (Free to play gold farming packs only no money spent) I may bite the bullet and actually buy the mega bundle this time around but I still don’t think I’m getting the tavern pass. I just don’t care about a bunch of cosmetic portraits and skins.
I still think any preorder is worth it if you like the set design. A dollar per pack or better like this set is worth if you play the game for any length of time
Level 285 on Rewards Track (Paid Tavern Pass) 41% Completion on Castle Nathria gameplay 11,995 Gold (been saving since about a week after Nathria launched)
The fact that signature cards can't be disenchanted is ridiculous imo. I'm not going to buy the mega bundle or any bundle for that reason. Since the guarantee of golden legendary dust was a big plus.
177 playing every other day, between 30 and 2 hs just to complete 2 or 3 quests at the same time. No tavern pass.I don't know how many achievements but, i don't do them actively. I guess around 25%
Level 163 (with pass) and 13% Castle Nathria Achievement completion. I had a month of hardly playing before picking it up again with Naga Priest this month.
Im currently level 216 on the rewards track(with out xp boost) and 65% of achievments are done usually! It's 30 % that i do usully but this expension i pushed a little harder!
You guys have missed a glaringly obvious point. Signature cards in packs replace rares. Essentially, there are more ways to open 20 or 40 dust packs. Which overall, increases the price of the game.
Blizzard lured me back in with the free 75 standard packs and 75 of the murder at castle nathria. I was wondering how much money it would roughly cost to play standard and collect all the cards to make whatever deck I want. I am confused on mini deck sets. Are the mini deck sets basically all the cards you could get from the packs for only 15$?
As a F2P player, where I play Standard buy destroying Wild sets, and using DUST and GOLD to stay as current as possible in STANDARD, this is all making things much harder for me, and I often wonder if the day that me, as a F2P player stops playing all together, is gonna be coming sooner than later...
Level 250 - 77% Nathria Achievements. Worth noting that I often log on for dailies/weeklies and spend most of the last few weeks of an expansion achievement hunting.
I'm at 384 on the achievement track (bought the tavern pass) but only 34% for achievements, hated castle nathria with a passion, played more wild and battlegrounds this season
Purchased TP 245Lv with 29% on Achievements I did them a lot at the start but then after reaching 100Lv I got really into Battlegrounds abandoning Achievements goals as they are not tied to Battlegrounds sadly.
I have 196 levels on the rewards track, and my achievements is at 75% for castle nathria. I felt like the achievements was the only thing that kept me going. I basically stopped playing after I finished the most "fun" achievements, and the ones left over are either grindy or just boring.
Thanks for the informations (and for clarify some misinformation I saw) - for the data, I reached lv 117 on the pass and 8% for Gameplay achievements in Castle of Nathria (little bonus data: 60% of the relative collection)
Thanks for the analysis, its, as always, valuable and enjoyable. Currently im level 194 on the reward track, and a 27% achivment completion for the current expansion
I cracked 62 packs as a for free player and to my great suprise I didnt get all the commons and rares of the death knight class. Are they reduced in the packs? I got almost all the Common und rare from all the other classes.
Without the Tavern pass: Level 175 on the track and completed 68% of gameplay achievements. Saved 9500 gold and 50 standard packs so gonna enjoy expansion launch.
