We always stayed in Destin, FL and on this trip we said "Nope", we are going to see what all the talk is about. We were surprised at how laid back everything was. A security tip regarding our Superduty electronic tailgates, if you open your tailgate for any reason after locking your truck, always relock the truck with the keyfob after closing it or else anyone will be able to open it by pushing the button, even if the truck doors are still locked. At least that's what I realized on my Platinum trim, but test this for yourself by walking away from your truck with the keyfob and have Pam walk up anf push the button.
In all the 20 years we full timed and watched in RV parks we always knew we made the best choice for us with the Class A. Pull in to a rest area in the rain did not need to get out in the rain for anything. The next best move was to move up to the diesel class A. Great video wishing safe and happy travels to you.
We searched and bought our current 19ft TT by searching at local dealerships and found the best option for our truck we had at the time. Purchased summer of 2019 and that was our saving grace through Covid. We could still travel and distance from others no problem! Now we’re shopping for next RV upgrade and have looked at more dealerships and our local big RV show. We have time to pick out the perfect set up because we will have to upgrade truck if we upgrade trailer… we’re still looking and saving.
Perfect way to do it too! Taking the time. No rush. When you find it, the perfect one, not in a panic..... ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Unlike our situation when we bought ours. We HAD TO get something NOW after selling the house and needing to get moved out and the trip to the other side of Texas from Arizona! Total time crunch. You got this down!

Good to see familiar scenes in your video. We live near Tallahassee, and when we were your age, we snorkled for scallops in the St. Joe Bay, and I do miss those days. I've also fished that area, when I still had an offshore boat. And speaking of honey, some of the best honey in the world is tupelo honey which is plentiful in the Wewahitchka area, which is a little to the east of St. Joe. Also, we have purchased Two rv's at RV Connections in PC, the latest one was just last year, and We have not regretted it at all. They treat us like family.
RV shopping is a good fun. We looked at 50+ rigs before we bought ours - a fifth wheel and dually Silverado to pull it. No regrets - love it. We are part time and do week-long / some month-long trips. So many choices in rigs and dealerships. I really liked a $$ Class A and also a few smaller travel trailers. The wife had her favorites. When we saw our fifth wheel things clicked. We hadn't considered it at first. . . You've come a long way with your rig. There are complications, work, learning curve and idosyncrasies with each. I'm sure you'll make the right choice. I really enjoy your videos!
As you look at those class a coaches I encourage you to look closely at chassis weight capacity, towing capacity, cargo weight capacity etc. In our search I found many smaller units were on chassis with not alot of payload capacity after looking at the true "wet weights". That might make full timing and the things that requires tough to carry. Enjoy your search

Just got back from a cruise and happy to find a new vid to watch.We started with a used C class in 2013, went to a new on the lot class A in 2014, then ordered a new class A Newmar Bay Star in 2019 and love it!! Check them ALL out and decide which is best for how/what you are going to be doing. Going to give my unasked for 2 cents. :) 1. Camping World SUCKS.....would never ever walk on one of their lots. 2. ALL RVs/coaches have problems, yes even NEW ones....ALWAYS have an independent inspection by a LICENSED inspector BEFORE taking delivery of ANY thing. 3. Don't buy ANY covid RVs, 2020-2022, quality control bad enough before covid, DURING covid they were pushing them out as fast as possible and quality control even worse than before. 4. TEST DRIVE, TEST DRIVE AND TEST DRIVE anything you are even considering. If you happen to be back in central IND and are still looking check out Mt. Comfort RV and ask for Scott Mohr. And since you will be only 40 minutes away please get in touch and we can meet up.
We are still enjoying your adventures and your videos keep us going between our schedule vacations from our fixed location jobs! LOL. Our North Point is our 5th trailer in 25 years and every time we shopped for the next one, we both have avoided any sort of motored RV. Her main issues is that potential of having to drive it, although she never has had to drive so far. My issue is that I do not want to have one more motor with drivetrain to maintain. If you are fulltime, then you have to take your 'home' in for an oil change. Now, I will say that I do not drive a dually with my 44' North Point like you do. That is a pain to park so we have a 3500 shortbed crewcab RAM Cummins. With that I can still go most places in the NP's and park in most any parking lot. Tows and handles wonderfully even in the windy northern plains. I know you guys will figure out what is best for you and you will make it work. Take care!
Thank you so much Cathy! You're the best! We stayed at the Panama City Beach RV Resort near the State Park and across the street from Patches. We love staying there because the beach is only a hundred yards away. It's so relaxing. We love it.
Any used rig has issues and no one to stand behind it. Best move we made was to buy a new Class A gas RV when the market was not hot. This may be a good year to buy but you won't get as much for your used RV. Also, Class A's are very easy to drive, park and setup. I am 5"3" and drive our 36 ft. Class A all the time.
Love your channel. I’ve been watching for a few months. However, when it comes to Camping World, I only use them for small items in there stores. I would never ever buy any RV rig from them. With that said, enjoy your RV shopping, and continued safe travels. 😊

Don’t just walk in the coaches, take as many as you can on test drives! Pretty significant difference with how a class C drives vs a class A. Also a significant difference with how entry level gas A drivers vs diesel pusher & for that matter an entry level DP vs a tag axel coach. I went with a used DP after dozens of test drives and walk throughs.
Oh with Class C watch for weight issues, we got burned by not realizing it was wayyyyy to heavy empty, always weight it on a cat scale before making the deal, you be surprised

Great American Rv in DeFuniak is terrible. Getting warranty work on our Grand Design and they’ve had our camper since November. About to roll up tomorrow to see what the heck is going on. We leave in May to head out west and into Canada. Very little communication and updates. Would you guys sell privately or trade in at a dealer? Pretty area … I used to deliver food out that way with US Foods. I would deliver to Carrabelle Apalachicola and Port Saint Joe. A lot better than the hustle and bustle Panama City Beach
RV Connections is a good company they have a second location in Dothan Al about 90 miles away, there is also Bama RV in Dothan that has a good reputation as well. Happy Hunting.
Has Sofia grown like a foot just in her legs? Girl has just sprouted! LOL Anyway, long story....We have looked and looked. We have heard first hand stories about Camping World. We were driving by one here in Phoenix and said to ourselves that it really can't be that bad, right? If I'm trying to sell something, I want it to be in the best possible condition that it could be in. I want people to buy it and drive it off the lot ready to go. Not kidding...every rig we looked at was filthy, falling apart, damaged, or the salesman broke something while showing it to us! They were saying things like, " Don't worry about that, we will have it ready to go when you buy it" or "Our service department is the best, it will be fixed super fast!"...... If it were me, I would avoid them at all costs. If you need to fix something yourself, great, go get parts if they are cheaper and you need it in a hurry. Just don't let them repair anything. Changing the subject now. Class C doesn't look like it would fit you guys. Class A, you will need a tow vehicle and Lee would need to get rid of Maximus! 😳 You guys are awesome! Enjoy the ride!!!
Okay, hang on a second here.... Yeah, I get it. The 377RLBH has turned out to be the Not as Perfect as we thought it'd be with the lack of storage and the rest of it as you're already aware of but guys!!!...... A class C????? Or even the larger one you looked at??? You ARE AWARE the 377 IS 43feet, RIGHT? And you're going to downsize? The two I saw here didn't have anywhere for the kids! No bunk. No place to put their stuff or even a closet for the clothes! Privacy? Then the lack of the room to move around. Some place to sit comfy and watch a movie all at the same time. Someone will be at the table. That doesn't sound like a good place to lay back, eyes get a little heavy only to close them for a short time before you realize the ending credits are playing on the TV! (Only talking like this cause I want to point out some things I'd be thinking when we upgrade our rig. Not trying to get all personal and stuff but......) Brands. Think about quality before you get too carried away. I know Jayco has let you down a bit with the axle thing and that's "one of those things" that was likely happened from that one pot hole that one time you said to yourselves "That was a BAD ONE!" but still... look at what you see already on some.... doors falling off when the rig is brand new?? Um.... that's kinda a red flag! If you're serious about going smaller, RENT ONE for a week! Make sure you're not going to spend a bunch of cash and instantly regret it! IMO I know we both would. As we're watching this video together she and I are both yelling at you through the TV asking ::"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??? WHY ARE YOU EVEN LOOKING AT THOSE??????" lol There are some bunk models that are a lot nicer than this one we both have! Rear bunks seam to be a bit nicer and more comfortable, I've noticed on a few, one being Jayco's. I did a BUNCH of research before buying this brand finding it to be a bit better built than many others in the same class range. Grand Design is close. Keystone? NOPE ! Sorry for this rant. Only did it out of care to y'all. Hate to have seen you regret something when I could have said something to better someone's situation, that's all!!
From experience, going from a 35'+ 5th wheel to Class A or C, you will lose a lot of storage. Especially with the kids growing up. Tough decision for sure. Best of luck..
