I didn't know the rear lights had full RGB capability until now. That is very good to know as a firmware update could let us get rid of all colors on the rear light except for red.

That's probably why they made this change so that everyone could see that any color will be available.

The minimum voltage for a 30S battery pack is 90 volts (if cut off is 3 volts per cell, which is extremely generous as LG M50 LT cells have a specified minimum voltage of 2.5 volts). 97 volts is about 20% battery.

Great to see King Song actually listen to the riders community and made quick improvement on their flagship product. Love the rainbow light at the back by the way. Also the most important thing is about the BMS modification (if any), hopefully KS can make the wheel more responsive in the first 3 meters as well. Keep up with the great work KS.

I like that they added different colors to the lights but if they don’t give you the choice of what colors to pick from I’m not a fan.

Funny how they went from no rear light to a rainbow. What about the basics first and then custom to a rainbow. We want to use these things on the road and if they comply with the basics like a car it would be a good start. Red for riding, red bright or flashing for stopping and orange for indication. But its a change. I like the charge indicator now showing. But this is key for them to keep on updating the wheel and listen to feedback. Big thumbs up. Thanks for the feedback.

It also has three times the battery. There's a sweet spot as the heavier the device, the more battery it needs making it heavier, requiring more batteries and so on. To make room for suspension, KS had to make a sacrifice with the batteries and that's why they had to go to 126v. It's all about balancing the equation.

And we really need a normal lighting option for the back light. Only permanent light red when the lights are on and bright red when braking. Stop this turning signal and color lighting thing. If we want to get an official authorisation for driving on the roads sometime we need a light which is working as all other official vehicles. Many thanks for your videos, highly appreciated. :-)

That will be the case. They did the rainbow version to let everyone know that any color will be available via the app.

Thanks for this Ian. I am getting really depressed about the s20 with this range, but on the other hand reality is reality and I'd rather know what reality is for this wheel. However, I think that's a great idea you had that when your shipment comes in to try a different one just to make sure that it's not a lemon.

Ya considering the 45-60 mile range, most often about 50 from what I see, I'd bet there's some kind of issue. It's an anomaly to have one with so low range when a dozen others are getting 45-60 miles

No problem Mike, knackering but fun! Yeah I think I might just demonstrate low mileage on another unit as well most likely, we did likewise with the Sherman on 2 occasions to demonstrate how to deplete the battery by riding style…the terrain and cold UK weather does help for sure in this regard!

@@TechMan042 There is no issue at all.. different riders, different riding styles, different weather... brings different results... yes the S20 can be both a 25 mile wheel... and a 65 mile wheel.

@@v4v777 yeah but arranged test is generally average adult rider at a medium speed and seeing max mileage under those conditions. Speed boosting is more of a stress test

Why doesnt KS do a number percentage of the battery? that would be more helpful than the battery bars.

Quite the pickle, indeed. If I were rich, I'd simply get both depending on what range I need. I really looking forward to see Speedy Feet do a range test with another S20 to prove/disprove the lemon thesis.

Did they change the initial torque curve at all from a stand still? Not a fan of the rainbow. Why can't we just pick the color? Every wheel has full rgb potential and they always limit us to these pre-determined rainbows and color combos.

I can see from the video that the front of the wheel is getting pretty muddy so I was wondering if the front lights are getting obscured or the tilt adjustment mechanism is glogging up.Also how easy do you think an open wheel like the KS 20 will be to keep relatively clean.👍

good range Ian 126v consume more make sense in the summer it will be a good (46mi)75km euc its cold in Canada too range is affected drastictly too!

Hi Ian, the Battery State resolution seems to me very small. How many steps does is actually display? 5 so in 20% steps? In the old wheels it was displayed on the LED ring and that was way more detailed. It would be REALLY nice if we would get another option for this Display, this time as a square circle around instead of this big battery sign. Then there would be many more steps possible to display. What do you think? Maybe you can pass this wish to Kingsong?

@@DataGhostGhostware Its all good dude, its a common approach, I kind of liken it to all tech really, i.e. new phone, I always fight the battle of - do I get the latest iphone this year, or wait until it has that one more feature (and kick myself sometimes when getting one, and then the following year it has some amazing feature!). I just now acknowledge its a chasing your tail game, the next release will always be improved in some way and have fun whilst on the journey of all the new releases and the dreaming of the possibilities to come!

Not a lot looking at diagnostics as to maintain ~55-60kmh requires some pushing forward most the time and also its still got to balance you, it does give some back none the less

I'm about to go range test my S20, will report back in a few hours with the results. I'm waiting for the BMS / Firmware update to complete. I'll try to match your 24mph average speed. I'm about 220 lbs with all my gear, what was your total rider weight in this video?

First time using that app. I did a lot of lolly gaggin and taking pictures, didn't realize that would lower my avg speed in the app so much. I took it offroad, up steep, jibbin' off all the bumps. 33 miles total. Ill upload a video of the ride soon. Love the wheel though, it's really grown on me.

Thanks for this information, this is in my opinion is the most important range test. Given your average riding speed and the range covered, were you riding for around 65mins? Also could you share the temperature you were riding in?

Hi there, thanks for the update. Did you change suspension settings for this video? From what I see it is very stiff, seems not working at all. Is it now possible to set up simple, steady red tail light? :)

It does work yeah. Its set how I like it, just enough give on the real rough stuff. You can set it super soft if thats your style. No constant read tail light (and tried changing it in the settings with no joy so far)

Hi Speedy Feet, would it be possible for you to count the number of charges you made for the S20 during all your kilometers riden ? It would provide a nice average range that we could rely on, regardless of the variation in weathers or style of riding for each session.

Not really no as there are no full cycles (0-100%), there will be lots of 50-80, and 30-100’s for example, to much hassle to keep count sorry!

Thanks for the update. The range didn't seem to improve with the firmware update. Are you getting a fully balanced 126 Volt charge with the pre production charger?

Just shy of 125v, it does output when green, but so little that even after 12 hours it still was shy (just) of 125v

@@Speedyfeetuk ok so you are probably not getting a fully balanced charged then. So if we get a charger that can give us a proper fully balanced charge......that should improve range noticeably. I think???

From the video I can't seem to see any movement from the suspension. Have you set it to full firmness of this just how it is?

It does move yeah, but its set to my liking, it will go down to real soft if needed

Also, the firmer the suspension, the less power it draws from the battery giving you more range. There's always a trade off.
