We walk through our bathroom conversion to a laundry room/watermaker room. "Soft" install of a Rainman Watermaker and automatic washing machine. More information here: sailingsatori....
If I had figured out the washing machine, I might have convinced my wife to stay living on the boat! We are planning on retiring to our RV soon. Washing machine on the RV was a prerequisite. Keep making great videos......Hail to the King!
You just gave Rainman the ideas with those holes. Great video guys. The King must be proud of you and cheesed off too for not having his King Arthur moment. Next video should be just about the King and nothing else if you wish to keep your boat intact 😉 thanks and best from HKG 🇭🇰
Thank Laurent! Would be funny if they changed their case design because of this... but it would make sense. You will see some of the King soon... I promise.
Aroooga Aroooga Aroooga...Dive Dive Dive! You guys are now qualified to operate a WWII submarine. Innovative. Well thought out and executed. Happy laundry day.
Looks like nice work Nick very creative engineering on top of that not too many people would actually put a laundry room in you must have a really big inverter in your boat running that washing machine without restarting the generator LOL just something I noticed but again really nice work
Sweet vid, like the wipes, I was thinking of buying a used water maker or a sort of aftermarket one but got the rainman after you guys did the easy operation video. Love it, that washer tho!
We are about to pull the trigger on the purchase of the Zeny washer. Just checking to see if you guys are still happy with the machine and if it has held up. We have 17.5" through the bulkhead opening and 17.5" into the head. I think we'll be okay.
@@SailingSatori, we ordered it last night. Amazon offered $70 off, if we signed up for their credit card, so we got this thing for under $100! Thanks for the recommendation.
Wow ! I had a 35 foot boat for 10 years if I had two heads I would turn one into a laundry, water room, because you said you never use the head , I would make the insulation better and more user friendly, right now it works but for your wife and you it’s a Chinese fire drill , my wife wouldn’t let me do that kind of install
Im happy for you ! How long to you intend to live on the boat? Did you quit your job? Are you just supported by friends and family? How much money did you save to do what it is you are doing? I am thinking about doing a channel with unique features . I am solo and thats probably the way I will be unless I convince my girlfriend to come and I really doubt it. Serious sailing and philosophical teaching with other features are coming up. Sailing survival it seems is everyone's gig, Like they way you thus far have persevered. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Gary! We take it season by season. So far, we’ve been cruising full time for 2 years. Yes we both quit our jobs. Had about 50k to start with. We are working on our vlog and website as a source of steady income. It’s a struggle but we keep at it! Good luck to you, this is a beautiful life!! Your girlfriend might surprise you and come with! It’s a once in a lifetime thing. 😍
@@SailingSatori That's really informative. Thank you. Your productions are done well. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate the response . Thank you for your thoughts and insights into your beautiful lives. Fair wind and happy sailing
Really great info on both. Maybe a Permanent water maker is better n leave the washer for easier access . When do you head back to the DR For hurricane season.
Thanks much the great installation video. You have a good collection of tools, essential for boat or any projects. I was wondering - it appeared that you were using a portable table saw to cut the wood for the water maker platform. Is that correct? If so what model/brand is it?
Nice to have on board water system! That over sized blender seems like a silly waste of time/space/energy to wash a bucket of undies! Didn't see any briefs I guess your on your own.
No way!... laundry is the biggest pain while cruising. It’s been a very nice addition to the boat. Way better than hauling bags of clothes around town and in the dinghy, paying for laundry service, paying for coin laundry, doing it by hand, or just running out of clean clothes. Game changer!
Good stuff. Since, in your own words, this head is not used as a bathroom, gut it and make your gal (and you) a real laundry room. It would seem, the more one keeps plugging and unplugging water and valve connections, the sooner they will wear out or break. Just a thought. :-)
Hi Richard. Nick bought and installed a 'Transferable' water maker, and the washing machine fitment appears semi permanent - maybe they don't want to modify Satori for re-sale purposes ? Thinking of another boat further down the track ? Regards from NZ, John.
Correct. Also, one of my criteria was for the bathroom to remain functional. We don’t use it daily, but we do want it if we need it for guests, or if we have problems with the other head.
I would be concerned about the high pressure hose rubbing on the holes in the casing that you drilled.. put some chafe protection. Also I would be careful to make sure that watermaker does not operate with both head door and portlight closed... could cause a heat build up and shorten the live of the compressor and or washing machine.
OMG, poor Kelly!! Did Nick provide you with a set of Chinese instructions so that you can do the laundry? Ha ha. Turn this on, turn that off, watch this meter, this goes into that then turn this off - I think I will send Kelly some paracetamol! ha ha
