The little top handle saws make awesome little 4x4, Jeep or trail saws (whatever you want to call it) as well. Much more compact than a rear handle saw and not really lacking in comparable performance.

I should dig my old top handle echo out and fire it up. Pretty sure it's older. Always thought it strange the carb and air cleaner were up front where the chain enters/exits and there are actually some dogs in the air filter cover! Was always easy to start and had a strong will to run.

Great saw to limb and trim with for sure. What do you mean not a toy,Chainsaws are semi grown adult up toys :) Get a nine safety Stihl chain for her. I have a battery one,Sure handy.

Totally agree, Scott. When I said "toy" I wanted people to make sure they used the tool carefully, but I hear what you're saying ;) I've seen battery top-handles up in trees, very handy so the climber isn't constantly pulling the pullrope. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!

@@travisdoesfirewood If I had a top handle saw I would use it for delibming fell trees already on the ground. or just use it for bucking small woof 6-12inch stuff! I dont know how to climb but would be gread for that as well!

@travisdoesfirewood : I Hoard enough Mazda parts for rebuilds and restoration stuff. So I do see a point in collecting saws when 2 are enough for me. I have a Mac 10-10 that was given to me, and I only run it a few times a year.
