For anyone who may be watching this I FINALLY got myself a 7 string in the charcoal finish that Rabea has. What I will say is that mine is a LOT darker than the one in the video. Almost like it's ambered over/aged and the same goes for the head stock. Personal preference but I think it looks fantastic as it is. Other than that there's no surprises in quality, sound and playability compared to what's in the video.

I have the same issue with my Schecter. The color is so much darker in person than on the website. I'd of rather had the color of the one Rabea is playing. It's so dark.. I have 5 Schecters now and don't have any issue with the color on any of them. Schecter is my new habit....

Never block off a floyd when they make trem stabilizers. There's several ways to set them up. You can set them up where they only add a little extra stability, and you don't need to be a body builder to operate the floyd, or you can set it up where its really hard to move, but you can still use the floyd and even downtune strings

Have you played the Omen Elite, if so how does it compare to the Reaper 6? I think they have the Hot Rod version of the Floyd Rose on the Omen Elite which I think it's supposed to be more robust.

I have a HM squier strat I picked up a few months back, first fr I've ever owned. Took about a week learning and fiddling and now it stays in perfect tune permanently, I love it. Have it tuned to Eb for shreddy 80s metal. Awesome.

Lee is correct. Original Floyd Rose (or full fat, lol) are made in Germany.

Happy new year! So I opened my Ibanez cheap floyd in the back , change the 9s for 10s, put another spring in, fixed the truss rod, checked the intonation, tuned down a step and after a week of tension and humidity I am ready to down metal!!! Or I could buy this new Schecter 7 and be amazingly ok and all mighty metal!!!! Thanks!!

Another great video, thank you. The tuning may be a result of new strings. If I give them a good stretch and play a bit before locking them down I usually don't have any issues with staying in tune.

I bought an Omen Extreme last year on a whim. The build quality for the price was fantastic, but the pickups were terrible and I returned it. These sound so much better. May have to revisit this one.

From the Floyd Rose website 'In 1963, a 15-year-old Floyd Rose picked up his first guitar, a Harmony, and an old tweed Fender amp. A year later, Floyd’s family moved from Durango, Colorado to Reno, Nevada, and he received his first tremolo-equipped guitar, a 1964 Fender Jazzmaster. Having grown up a fan of the Beach Boys and the Ventures, he found himself making ample use of his whammy bar, which only increased into the late 60’s and early 70’s as he found inspiration in Hendrix’s performance at Woodstock, and in watching Ritchie Blackmore play in Sacramento. As Hendrix and Blackmore were the two artists he emulated the most, Floyd was snapping whammy bars in half on an almost weekly basis, while also trying to cope with his strings going wildly out of tune, which was a major problem for a musician whose love for a well-applied whammy bar was equaled by his meticulous attention to his intonation.'
