I started getting mad at the rules. Sick serves were used in the video which will force you to stop playing. Thank God it was April fool's day.

Same here... the first one is realistic (and by the way, a lot of player allready serve like that...)... The second one is less cool but when he began with the 3rd I check the video date... Very cool one; well done

I've been trying to copy Craig's service technique from your videos for ages but this one just proves that he is the service guru of all time. What technique. I am straight out to the garage to try them out but may have to wait to be in a village hall to have room to really practice the tennis serve. We've needed these changes for so long to be codified, as just having people doing them informally in matches is not really enough. Thank you both. Keep the videos coming.

Came in home Friday evening after a few beers. Sat down to relax watching your videos. I'm 63 end of this month and only started back playing November are covid. Started getting upset at these new rules and thinking about packing it in. Then the penny dropped. Great one

Hi Tom, i`m no prof. but i think because of the unpredictional sidespin of the TENNIS-SERVE its more effective if you keep MORE distance to the table

i was about to write a long response of the stupidity of this NEW serve....thankfully the coin dropped when I read your comment. The service height should be increased though to remove ambiguity. 20 cms

This is great, 50% of the Plymouth & District TT players serve like this! One of the reasons I wont play in their league! (I'm a County Umpire), you ask them to serve correctly and they just throw a wobbly, saying 'I only play for recreation!' but get quite pissed when they get beaten.

Thanks Chris for comment.Whilst this is an April Fool,like all good comedy it hits the nerve of reality. I have a similar problem in my league. In fact I am probably going to concede a forth coming match to an opponent who uses out of hand serves. Practically my opponent looks down over and in line with the ball toss.They ignore the requirement for a clear ball toss height of 16cm After the ball leaves the free hand. Whilst my opponent cannot accurately judge the height of the ball , as the reciever in the ready position I can clearly see the serve is illegal. My opponent is Oblivious and in denial. Unfortunately as you point out ,these players really get upset and will not take legitimate criticism.

Brilliant,got my attention immediately. Last week I lost a game 11-0, as my opponent was using the new rules. Specifically the new rules allow you to complete ignore the old law requirement for a clear 16cm ball toss and contact with the ball in the falling phase. Section 2.6 My opponent looks nearly vertically down on the ball in line with the upward ball toss.There is NO way he can gauge the clear 16cm. My opponent executes an extremely short service action close to the body. Thank you so much for this explanation, as it means that I know there is absolutely nothing I can do ,just look across the table in the receiver ready position at an extremely little tosser

Please update the title or atleast the description of the video... It is funny, but people are just dumb sometimes. this video is the top search result in RU-vid. And there have been a lot of changes to the rules of the game these recent years, people have been trying to keep up to date.

If theres a time lag in calling let would that be acceptable. In what circumstance would a delay of approximately 2 minutes be accepted ,in calling a let.

The tennis serve is a bit of a stretch on a relatively in much smaller serve area ie table Vs wider court, whilst also noting the differences in the size of the balls in the two sports
