After a long hiatus, I've finally been able to edit and upload a new video! This episode officially opens Season 4 of our Seaman Vlogs. Let's start by concluding the events of Season 3. Chief MAKOi Seaman Vlog Life at Sea
Hi everyone! At long last! 😄 Luckily I managed to get my roaming SIM card to work. It's a bit expensive but I just had to upload this video and jump-start Season 4 today. For those of you who have been with me for years now, you know how it is whenever I'm onboard a ship. Uploads will not be regular due to unavailability of internet access. But rest assured that in between episodes, I'm shooting lots of footages and storing them, just waiting to be edited and uploaded. Once again, thanks for all your support. Enjoy!
Glad to see you again! do you ever see season 1-3 crews?? It seems that you enjoy a lot of your work or is it editing making is so ? Nice to be seeing more of you and your efforts. thanks for keeping me informed of all the things I have been blissfully un aware of, but now enjoy even more. Mahalo Chief..
That's the best news that I've heard in a very long time. You definitely don't need to be or feel sorry just like you said that anyone who has been with you for a long time. I wish I was but better late than never. Every chance I get I go back and watch the one's I missed. Anyway you keep the ship's going and I will do my best to keep the trucks going that deliver the stuff you bring to the ports. 🛶🚚🔧🔧🔧🇨🇦
It could take me weeks to figure out the name of your current vessel!!!! I never named your last ship....leave the occasional clue for me please Chief...so I can track your travels...
Not a seafarer but still I like your patience, attention to detail and the calm and compressed narration. Thanks for this and upcoming videos. Eagerly waiting for them.
One of the greatest non-fiction storyteller you are, Chief. Take all good care of yourself. Looking forward to yet another wonderful and informative storytelling adventure from season 4 👍🏽👍🏽✌🏽✌🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Your crewmates are amazing. Some hard working, down to earth good people. Here's to you, Chief, your crew mates, your boat and Season 4. God Bess, be safe.
Hi Chief Makoi, I am Dutch marine pilot for the Scheldt river and Gent. Hope to meet you someday in the ship! Love ur vids! Fantastic job informing the world about the whatsabout in the world of seafaring
That homecoming was very heartwarming, great that you decided to spend such a long time with your family, I am sure they missed you a lot. Good luck for the new assignment!
Chief, one of the things I really like about your videos is the way you show us the humanity of you and your crew serving at sea. From videos like this, to the "teamwork videos" of making repairs, etc., to the celebrations onboard of everyday events we all take for granted, it gives us a connection to the real people plying the seas to supply us with our needs. Keep it up. Wishing you fair winds and following seas.
You've come a long way Chief. I've quietly been watching your content for years. You're a better documentarian than entire crews working for Discovery. Keep it up.
Good to hear from you again Chief! Great news that you'll be going home soon, I'll bet you're happy! Some great shots in that video, particularly the drone shots and the view of the deck covered in snow was truly spectacular. Hope your time at home is long and enjoyable.
For me, learning how difficult it can be to be at sea was eye-opening. These guys are unsung heroes who go through a lot just to bring food to the table. Thanks chief for opening my eyes up
It’s brilliant to see you back, Chief! I’m so happy for you that you managed to spend a decent amount of time at home with your family. Having worked away overseas for extended periods myself, I know how difficult it can be. I’m looking forward immensely to your future uploads. All the best and take care!
Well done With a new Video Chief. I like to watch your videos as it is the only time a get to sea now at 74 years of age, I am well retired. Have a great shore leave with your family. All the Best, Tom A Clyde Built Engineer.
Awesome work as always, Chief! I’m glad to see there’s more to come. I enjoy watching your content when it’s fresh off the oven during the weekends while having a cup of coffee! Warm regards from Puerto Rico (you’d be amazed how similar our two cultures are!)
Chief we are very delighted that you make these videos , both me and my brother are sons of master mariner late CAPT F C AGRAWAL We have sailed so often as kids and these videos bring back the fondest memories of our childhood God bless you .
Chief if there is one thing those of us who have be shipboard understand it’s the feelings occuring when you can say “I’m going home.” Glad you took a break. ‘
Hey Chief MAKOi! Awesome update dude! Glad you got to relax with family for 15 months! Thanks to you and all other seagoing workers everywhere for getting the stuff moved where it needs to go! Ride ride ride!
Wonderful, after 8 months! So glad you could go home to family. Amazing to think there are men like Chief MAKOi all over the world keeping thousands of ships running.
Chief !thank you for your videos I've been watching you since my 1st year at the academy and you've helped me so much! I remember my 1st sign on i was watching your videos all the night. so thank you so much for this lovely content
It's good to see you posting again. I thought you were likely at home for a while. I'm sure you and your family needed some time together after such a long absence. You were smart to wait out the COVID thing for a while, even though it is still present in many countries. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure regardless of how often you can post.
It's great to see you back again chief I'm glad you're doing well.. It's nice that you got to spend a decent amount of time at home with your family. I'll be looking forward to more of your RU-vid videos. I wish you the best of health.
I'm sure your family was happy with your plan of extended shore leave chief . Some times in life it is good to take this kind of break no matter your type of work .thank you for the update . stay safe my friend I'm looking forward to seeing your new ship and fellow crew .
Honestly chief, your homecoming almost made me cry. I'm so glad you made it home safe and had all that time with your family. I look forward to when you have time to share some of your current experiences. I'm so glad you're safe and keeping your ship above water! 😁
Nothing is better than being able to spend that time at home with family during the pandemic. Safe harbor that. Looking forward to more of your videos they are always informative and most interesting.
*HEY Chief .... GREAT to see that you are doing WELL, and that you were able to spend a LONGER time at home, with your family !!!!* A HUGE "THANK YOU" to ALL seafarers, that make our lives Soooo much better, and keep the world moving !!!! 👌👍👍👍👍
Good to see you back. Love your engineering videos. I am fascinated by big ships and have learnt so much more about them from your videos. Looking forward to more interesting posts.
Chief, I worked [shore side] for 27 years for a US west coast Port (I retired in 2020). Of course, I saw many, many ships come and go, and assisted with millions of tons of cargo off-loads (as a shore-side crane & infrastructure mechanic). I really enjoy your videos, seeing how things are on the "other side" of the operation! Always interesting... Not to mention how clean and well-maintained your vessel appears to be (I've seen some real rust buckets over the years, LOL!) Thank you so much for sharing, and giving us a glimpse of your world! God bless, and all the best...
When you decide to retire you need to look into becoming a narrator on documentaries. You have the type of voice that is enjoyable to listen to long narrations.
Have an awesome leave with the family Chief. We cannot ever do without the sacrifices seafarers and their families make to keep economies and supply lines running. Thank you all.
Thanks for the update and I hope you had a great time at home with your family. All the best to you and all your fellow seafarers. Can’t wait to see the new engine room videos.
When I saw all that rust flying as the anchor sped down, I thought "I hope the sailor is wearing a mask." Hurray. He was. Glad you got to go home. Looking forward to Season 4! Love from Liz and Ginger in Australia.
Chief Makoi. I follow all time your vibes and give me too much souvenirs. You have to leave the navigation you will feel in paradise. You are always subject to time, stressing all the time. Modern ships nowadays load and unload them quickly, often you don't have a time to go ashore, as soon as you have a good encounter on land, you are forced to leave with a broken heart, not to mention the bad weather that awaits you as soon as you leave the port pass. Living at shore is a paradise.
Welcome back @ sea. You were worth waiting, just to name some things I like: the calm way of explanation, the eye for even small things, showing things many of us can’t see without permission or traveling I am exited about Season 4
Fantastic stuff, Chief. Your cinematography is really improving - the shots of your ship bunkering from the small tanker were superb. Looking forward to season 4!
Thank You for allowing us to be part of your life on board ship, and you gave priority to your family and keeping it private and personal, wishing you and all your crew every blessing in the forthcoming adventure.
Glad to see you back, Chief!!! Very glad to know you're healthy, and when you mentioned the older ship assignment, I became hopeful for new videos. Needless to say, "Welcome to Season Four!" was a very welcome announcement!! I (we) can't wait to see what interesting information you have for us on this journey. Wishing you calm seas, Sir!!
You're one of the few yt channels that I watch at normal speed. I love to soak up the visuals and your chill narration. Looking forward to your new stories and travels on that "antique" ship. 😁
Thank you sir! I love your broadcasts because they show the fascinating technical and practical facets of your job. Also, it shows the human and relational dimensions too. Thanks!
Great to see you back, chief! I'm glad you were able to wait out the worst of the lockdowns - I talked to some of your countrymen a few months back who had just been relieved after being onboard for 14 months! Those poor guys hit the worst possible timing. Looking forward to the next series!
Cant get enough of your content! I can even just listen to it as I do work in other areas of my apartment. You such a wonderful way of painting a vivid picture with just your words
