In this video we take a look at the exciting new release from Parallel 42, aka //42, and specifically how things look in a helicopter. Rather than being a full detailed run though this is more of an overview of what it is about and then a short helicopter flight in the excellent Hype Performance Group H145. Parallel 42 are always very good at adding new layers of immersion and filling in gaps we didn't even know we had!

Nice video and Sim FX looks very good! 😊 Everything that adds to the immersion in the sim is of interest. I personally think the asking price is a bit high, and I wonder if we will get better effects in MSFS 2024.🤔 Otherwise it's an interesting product.

Agreed. Price is a bit steep. With 2024 just around the corner, I have put a hold on all add-ons. May well come back to this one day though... it does all the things it does very well.

If you bump up the surface wind layer a few knots it usually takes care of the lines in the water…

Another brilliant informative video. With helicopters do you reset rotor on the approach into hover and land, or leave and manage the helicopter into a landing?

Many thanks! Are you talking about rotor trim? If that is the case then I will probably keep trimming where I need to although certainly in the H145 for final approach and landing I will use the cyclic trim release so that I have full control over that without fighting the computer stability.

This looks really interesting and I'm a big fan of what Parallel 42 do but the price is WAY too high. There's certain add ons I really don't like to spend money on if its something I feel the sim should be doing itself out of the box and this is one of them. I do hope all of the features in this add on come as standard on day one with FS2024. Its also too late in the day to spend money on an add on like this when FS2020 now has a short shelf life for me.

Nice effects, however you don't notice most of them from interior view while doing everyday flying. Also, I'm not sure how compatible add-ons like this will be with MSFS 2024. Maybe it will work in different ways and offer its own default effects.

Yes it’s more useful for people that also like to look at outside views, make screenshots/videos if you want to get the most of it.

Hi, I got simfx too- when I redord with sky dolly, the downwash effect is not in the video. How did you record that, screen capture? Thanks!

Thats what I did...I dont see the groundwash effects in the replay...why is that? I am using the CH-47D.

Is the environment effects works with in sim global? Is not attached to specific aircraft right? Thanks for the great video 👍🏼

Many thanks! Check out their website, not sure if you’ve got to the bit in the video where I talk about it but there are some aircraft that some features might not work with and any marketplace aircraft that are encrypted will not work with it as it can’t access the files.

Many thanks! Yes I’ve seen screenshots with the H125 with SimFX. Should be fine. It’s AirlandFS driven helicopters that seem to not be compatible.

I had hoped this would be built into SU15 or 16 but doesn't look likely, does this also imply it won't come with MSFS24 also, otherwise why would we buy it 🤔 looks great though!

Will be 100% functional in SU15 but until they can get their hands on MSFS2014 I guess it’s hard for them to be 100% sure.

@@Dreamsofwings I think he was asking why every 3rd party mod's features aren't included in the base sim. Xboxers want this, or course. I see a lot of PC guys wanting it as well. They also don't believe we should have to pay for things they feel should be included in the sim.

@@Dreamsofwingsdoes that allow you to like record a cold start inside and outside? Like I turn bat on in the cockpit and record the sound both inside and outside from the start? I’m trying to find a recorder that does that. Haven’t committed to any yet lol

@@juanwhick1691 that isn’t something I have tried. It does sometimes okay cockpit sounds outside which doesn’t sound to great so you would have to choose the right moments to show exterior footage

@@_CHMI_ I need to do more testing really. The Spit I took off on a grass strip so the effect was very subtle.

Looks like a great added value for helis and seaplanes, albeit looks a bit fake. For other operations not sure at all it's worth it

Oh I thought it looked pretty good. Certainly better that not having it. Not being into tubeliners I’ve not experienced it but I believe their immersion packs for those were very popular in P3D/FSX so I guess there is a market for those too.

25 euros for something the developers could have done themselves... I can see buying planes if I like them. But when I think about how the sim was announced ages ago as one of the best of all time, and what it ultimately turned out to be, I'm very disappointed. especially when it comes to effects like those in the video. sad that "small" developers do better work than microsoft.. There are so many good grsfik engines in other games that also work and look perfect.

Saw a small effect when low down over the water as I was spinning camera round but this passed quite quickly. No obvious fps drop with dust. I don’t measure FPS, I go off how it looks to the eye really so what you see in the video is how it performed to me.
