A little tip Charlie I noticed you use your phone for adding measurements, etc. I personally have a proper calculator for several reasons , you can get some with bigger buttons , easier if you have gloves on or wet hands , if it's a dirty day doesn't matter if it gets a little messy on it and I find that when I was using the phone whilst on it I would see a message pop up or email then you find yourself reading it , when you should be adding up , I know you like to slimline and maximise working so hope this helps. 👍

Wouldn't surprise me if the sites you go on in future where they want you to point up the back of the blockwork are more inclined to let you film as opposed to sites where the standards aren't as tight.

With you on clothes vs sunscreen. Wear a trad shirt and turn up the collar - still lets the steam out. Snag towards end of day the sun still gets under the hat brim. thats what i noticed from my bricklayer when i did it. overhand is a different game!! practice!! im doing the bricklayer 500 September 30 in seattle wa with my bricklayer!! third time went once to vegas and now lets see about getting back to vegas!! appreciate you videos and knowledge

Tell you one thing ive noticed thia year regarding the sunshine, its the first year ive ever worn sunglasses in the sun and ive never burnt so much turns out it stops your eyes telling your brain your in the sun 🤷
Hey charlie, i turn 16 this year and it is in my interest to do bricklaying as an option for a job. I would like to know if you took an apprenticeship and if you have any tips for when you first start bricklaying. I enjoy watching your videos aswell, i am learning a lot 👍😁
I do level 2 brick at college only just about to start an apprenticeship ik I ain't experienced like Charlie but get an apprenticeship as soon as mate you'll be better off in long run
@@lmmoore1199 ok thanks for the suggestion. Are you in the uk and if so what do you do in your level 2 bricklaying course at college . I also got a level 2 merit in my construction exam so that will definitely help towards my career as a bricklayer.
@@michaelhenney2877 yeah UK mate, our diploma for L2 focuses more on techniques and how to properly lay bricks, how the construction industry works the different jobs and how it all fits into place etc
Are they normal profiles your using. Is putting block on profile a new idea. Can you show me how your holding it. Ive been clamping at the bottom. The days of sunning ourselves are gone now. I use an austrailian cream on my nose from simpliciti. Good crean made from plants
That last brick you laid with amy on the wall you just through in with no head joints. When I learned to put the closer in the wall I buttered both ends of the closure (last brick)and end of each adjacent brick, that way you get a full joint. You didnt even slouch it in. You do it all the time. Old habits are hard to brake.
Hey up Charlie after some advice our labourer has done diploma In lever 1 and 2 bricklaying not nvq but apparently the card says it’s not a qualification and won’t let him get a card so the only way is to get a green labourer card but he has to do an online course which takes up to four hours it’s called rqf level 1 but he has diplomas doesn’t make sense or is it a another robbing scheme they have done to get a card??? He’s been at college for two years for brickylaying

Charlie, just a heads up you can get natural SLS/Fluoride free toothpaste in holland and barett. Been using it for years. You can get natural sun cream but it's super pricy. I switched to kids sun cream as a happy medium. Kids/baby products are always better than adult in terms of less chemicals and better testing.
Yes they do if it's more than maybe 16 or 20 feet you should put a line holder or we call it a twigen I think I've heard Charlie call it a tingle in the middle of the wall it depends how tight you can pull the line
Instead of a block like rest of it if its gonna be seen it will need to built out of bricks at lower level so a horrible block not seen at bottom of your house
