You get a first look at the all new PWR CORE 20 XP Brushless 7-1/4" Rear handle Circular Saw from Skil Tools The CR5429B-20 is powered by two PWRCORE 20V batteries. I was caught off guard by the features of this circular saw especially compared to it's bigger sibling the SKILSAW 7-1/4" saw, it was NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!

Skil is underrated, I laugh when people say this is DIY stuff. I'm a building contractor and been using the new 20v Skil line since they came out and I am tuff on tools. I don't have time to baby my tools. Skil can handle the punishment and keep on going and if they break down, they are so cheap just replace it. Not like the high price tools, when you drop or break them you need a moment of silence and shed a tear. Go Skil !! and we need that new saw and nail guns!!

Now if Skil can just put out a PwrCore trim router, brad nailer, & wet/dry vac, they will be an absolute lock for DIYers & hobbyists who no longer want to feed the lime green machine (Ryobi)!

I've owned/operated many varieties of tool brands over the years and while some are definitely better made and more powerful, I find it hard to throw a stone at Ryobi. I prefer my makitas usually , but I've put ryobis to the test many times and never been disappointed, with the exception of the precision of the ryobi sliding compound miter saw. I'm willing to absorb a few ryobi jobsite jokes, but I'll still proudly pull out that 18 gauge battery brad nailer and go to town. Gang Green Stands Tall! I want you to Think about me singing that "Kissed by a rose" song that Seal sings in batman forever, you think about that while you picture me dominating the jobsite with ryobi tools, wearing a black silk thong and a cape...... @@adamsarrazin2391 No prob, friend. You do you. I just personally have an issue with Home Depot's business practices (same goes for TTI and Stanley/Black & Decker, for that matter), so I would like another option for a quality product at the same competitive price point.

My 2 favorite line of tool. Milwaukee and Skil. Skil is underrated, there tools are more than capable and surprisingly powerful. The 14" 40 volt chainsaw is one of the best chainsaws for $200, 12" 20 volt for $160

Just got the brushless drill 20v and I will say I’m more then impressed. Iv used the Milwaukee fuel drill for installation and they are similar. I don’t know about longevity but they are worth it. Plus with new tools coming

I took a chance about 3yrs ago and bought a SKIL orbital sander, Today I own 5 more SKIL tools and not one of them failed, they are well built for the price, I'm still using all the batteries they came with, no complainants at all

What's up Vince! Looks like SKIL is stepping up to play. The saw I'm really stoked about right now is my Makita XGT 40v rear handle. Love that new XGT line. Having said that, nothing beats a cordless Mag 77 though. Really happy to hear that STAFDA is going to be in my neck of the woods next year. I'm not a contractor or vender so not sure if I'll be able to get in, but hopefully we can all get together for burgers and brews afterwards. So many great spots. Shakespeare’s is unbelievably good bro.

Just got one these Skil saws. Replaced Makita 36V (not rear handle.) I hated that Makita. Depth gauge was in an impossible place to read, bevel stops got messed up first day I used it, and the blade guard REALLY sucks. Got hung up nearly every cut. This Skil is miles better. All the stuff they got right on the worm drive saws they got right here. Blade guard works like a dream, easy to guide nice straight cuts, dust port is great, 55 degree bevel capacity, same great ripping edge guide as the worm drives. It's legit.

Awfully almost the same as makita and they’re 36v saw and the charger cool they are very handy I’ve tried the rear handle and the regular one I prefer the rear handle version 👍

I been looking at an upgrade in tools. My old Craftsman ( real Craftsman ) is antiquated and dying slowly. Skil is one of the main lines I have been looking at for a "prosumer" ,"artist", "diy" user basically.

Someone needs to test if that circular saw cuts out. They also need to update those batteries. I feel the housing of the batteries are a little flimsy.

They also need to upgrade to 21700 cells. Their 2Ah batteries are the same size as my 4Ah 21700 cell Bosch battery

@@engineer_alv the problem with Chervon’s Flex, Skil, and Kobalt is that all of them cut out prematurely. I know they do it to protect the motors, but it’s just too sensitive.

Flex is the top dog while Skil is the prosumer brand. Just like TTI markets Milwaukee and Ryobi

@@engineer_alv That would make sense, but right now it seems that Skilsaw has some products that are a step above FLEX... but over time right? I didn't realize Skil had so many products, I only think of them as saws.

@@sloanNYC Skilsaw is not the same as Skil ever since they were bought by Chervon. Skilsaw is top of the line when it comes to saws but they will stay away from other power tools like drills, impact drivers or oscillating tools. And the batteries are not backwards compatible with regular Skil. It's a bit confusing, just like Metabo and Metabo HPT

There's a good chance I'd be buying one of these, and it would replace a Skil skill saw I've used now for over 30 years, without exception or fail. I'm letting you know I won't be buying one of these because that advertisement, your latest, has been overrun like no other ad I've seen in my 62 years, and I'm here to let you know I'm pissed because of it.
