Actually i noticed if you press shoot instead of hold it also does that And it also happens on ult cast so that seems like a side effect of the passive

I'm feeling this too, I've adjusted by putting it later in the chain. I'll come out of invis with a hack>start shooting>virus to finish off>transloc out. Even if you don't get the kill it forces someone to need to heal.

@@ghosty8745soldier can’t hack the targets but i do understand ur point i think this rework feels off they tried to make her a cassidy/soldier + flanker and it just feels off? sombra was unique and her play style was very different then other heroes i really don’t think she needed a change but leave it up to the devs to ruin characters. look at sym , torb and mercy completely ruined their simple yet effective designs

@@momdad1818 Compared to how she was before when she was basically only playable by Grand master players. People are complaining because she never gets picked in low ranks so they are not used to playing against her at all. Though I wouldn’t say she’s skilless, she’s still harder than every other dps aside from tracer and maybe Genji.

The hell are you smoking dude, everytime a sombra tries and attack our backline I end up destroying them as genji, and as someone who also plays sombra from time to time, her flanking potential has been gutted to the ground 😂 , it's good for me since I main genji, but from a casual sombra enjoyer pov I can just feel how gutted she is, and how she feels so underwhelming now.

Sombra is better now, she's more punishable for the trade of more damage (lower TTK) while still having her utility. Any sombra that is still hard feeding by only going for the backline is not adapting to the changes if that isn't obvious enough.

i play mainly symm and kiri and on kiri its basically impossible to die to her, but she can easily kill me as symm if she gets the jump on me and i don't have an m2 charged yet just sort of gotta know who to dive i think

Depends on context. The faster damage ticks on a hacked Virus can be the difference between getting a kill or not if the person you're attacking gets attention from their supports. Particularly from less bursty ones like Mercy. If you're going for someone who's isolated then yeah there is no point.

​@@turtley8581 For hack to be useful, the ability needs a long cooldown and not have instant value. That's Moira Ult, Sigma Ult, Bob, Pharah Ult and in rare situations maybe Reaper and Lucio? + Mercy's, Echo's and Pharah right after they fly up. Almost every other ability that can be cancelled (Dead-eye, Dragon, Freeze etc) Requires some kind of clairvoyance to consistently get value

@@Adam_Zielinski cancelling so many abilities can be the difference between killing someone. theres a reason sombras wait for doom to commit and then block before cancelling their block, or sombras priortize cancelling kinetic grasp, rein shield, javelin spin, hammonds ball form, ram block, literally so many things

@@turtley8581 With Hack nerf, Sombra doesn't do enough damage to make most of these targets viable if they play well. Other then Ball we still do have that hard counter going for us xD The issue is, Modern Sombra doesn't have the damage to capitalise on tank hacks, and for Team plays it requires exceptional positioning. Shield or Spin can't be hacked from front, you either need High ground or risk getting sandwiched. Hacking Sigs grasp Is minor value on a usually already dead character (Last ditch effort on the Sigs part to retreat) I will say tho , yeah , Hack is extremely useful on Bad tanks that push ahead out of position. There Hack can effectively punish a tank with no back line suport

@@porpouis You miss out on the doubled impact damage if you do that, plus the extra delay often means they get healed before you can finish them. Of course, hacking first still warns them, but they tend to react slower to just being hacked than to being damaged.

It's either you've gotten dps that do nothing or you've been doing nothing on sombra. She's really good and can stay in the fight longer

Sombra is not useless, she's like tracer which is to make a distraction to enemy team so your team can engage the fight, and she actually very good now than the old sombra

i feel like this take is only something lower elo players have because they don't understand how to approach teamfights fundamentally a lot of overwatch is downtime and waiting, and a lot of the time as every role you'll just be waiting for an opportunity characters like sombra are all about taking the engage at the right time and buying other people time to make space or get picks from your distraction

Not being able to shut down characters to an asinine degree doesn’t make her hack useless, just less oppressive, I’m not saying it might not need tuning, but acting like because you’re not shutting down a tank your ability is bad isn’t the best logic

Respectfully I have to say skill issue and just time your hack better since doom still explodes when he can't use his abilities.
