New Sonos Era 300 & 100: Buy These Over HomePod? 

No google assistant in the new speakers. But I absolutely love my Era 300's. Returned my new Homepods, sold my OG Homepods. I bought 4 era 300's so far, replacing my other 6 One's with Era 300's as well. As surrounds they're wonderful - but as paired standalone speakers they're incredible.

We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ru-vid.comUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

Great video. To connect to a TV, you said Homepod just takes Apple TV, but Sonos needs the Beam or ARC. Can't Sonos connected to Apple TV via Airplay just like a Homepod??

Google Assistant is not available on the Era 100 or 300 as of now as you stated.

Sonos Era 300s blow the HomePods out of the water. Having said that HomePod 2 in stereo does offer an excellent soundstage and quality.

I can tell you right now Sonos wireless is way more reliable than airplay. After 20 years airplay still randomly disconnects and or pauses out of no where.

Homepod 2 is reengineered but not redesigned

I don’t want a surround sound system, just a simple 2 channel setup for the TV and streaming music. A pair of HomePods will do this but not the ERA300’s, that’s the biggest problem with me.

How does the home theater compare to two HomePods? That’s my question. With no beam or arc, can you use two era 300’s as home theater setup?

What if you've got Sonos 5s and a Sonos Sub? Would you upgrade to Era 300s?

I have to disagree, the 300 sounds really off. We go to great lengths to reduce wall and ceiling reflections, and here we have a speaker that purposely makes this more difficult. Sure it’s louder, but the HomePod 2 or even a pair of Ones are cleaner and more precise than the 300. And the old Sonos Five in a stereo pair blows away both of these new speakers.

Really not sure why anyone would buy a HomePod. Sonos is so far and away superior to speakers than Apple and it’s not close. I have Sonos in every room and love them. Finally, Siri sucks ass. Always has and always will. I love how I can use Alexa with Sonos. Alexa destroys siri
