New splitter at Timber Visions and it is FAST. Super Split kinetic splitter. How fast is it?

Added a kinetic splitter to speed up making bundle wood as the hydraulic splitters have a slow cycle time, but strong splitting force. The Super Split uses two flywheels to quickly cycle the pusher through straight grain wood.

I bought the Super Splitter and received it in late June. It’s a Beast and so simple to use. Can burn through splitting wood in no time! Worth the extra money for an USA product!

They have been making them since the 70s I believe and have been refining them through the years. They make a great product. The wedge is like a knife and can cut through knots pretty well. Mine has seen about 4 cords since I got it. Heck of a machine. Thanks for watching!

I got my HD Super Split in March 2023. Have featured it on my RU-vid channel Cliffside Acres. It has certainly been a great splitter, fast enough for this guy! Tim in northern TN

You're the only guy I know that splits his wood small like I do! 👍 You can't beat a SS just for that.
@timbervisions

I sell mostly bundle wood so it helps so much with that. It dries so much faster when split small as well. I'm sure you know that if you're splitting small as well. What is your reasoning for splitting small?

@@timbervisions For years I had a small antique oak stove converted to burn wood. Our house is small (800+ sq ft) and that stove only took small pieces, and with anything larger the stove and the house would get way too hot. A few years ago I got a Jotul FC100 to take its place. I still like the small stuff as this too is a pretty small stove. I cut it around 12" long as well. I'm not concerned with long burns. I light it when I get up at 5, and let it go out when I leave around 8. Then I light it again when I get home and let it go out when I go to bed. I like a cool house when I sleep. I also use the SS to make a bunch of kindling before the burning season. It works great for that, especially if I pick straight grained stuff for that. Then I dont have to make kindling throughout the season in the rain, snow and cold. Nice thing is, when making kindling, I can let it run just above idle. Very quiet, and it sips fuel. Win/win!! All in all I have been very happy with the splitter. Form following function very efficiently! Mine is the HD model I picked up used (you never see them used, and I can see why!) for $1k. I had to replace the Honda carb. Other than that, it has been a great machine.

@Christian-wj7dk heck of a deal on that splitter. Quarter of the price new! Our wood stove is a high efficiency catalytic style. It prefers the smaller stuff. I pretty much heats the house all day and night. Soapstone body, so it retains the heat for longer.

Keep your cam followers lubed, especially the small one that is behind the ram. Also keep the I beam clean where it rides. You won’t be sorry with this purchase!

I've been trying to keep up on those maintenance items. It's already split up about 20 full cords or so for me. Nice speed, not too fast, not too slow. Thanks for your comment and the view!

16 Week lead time is not bad at all.. I think Wolfe Ridge is about 25 to 30 week's if you think about it thats still not bad either.. Nice upgrade over the last one..😁👍

I don't have electric where I split the majority of my wood, otherwise I'd say that's the way to go. You'll love this splitter, so fast! Enjoy

Hello, what are the dimensions of that table?
@timbervisions
@timbervisions 6 месяцев назад
I got the larger extensions, so it's 40 inches long and 56 inches wide if memory serves. It's a nice area to split and sort as you go. If I'm doing really large stuff, I'll split, then set one half on a table behind me while I work on the other half. Hope this helps!

How many teeth does the pinion have?
@timbervisions
@timbervisions 6 дней назад
@BERZOweldingprojects2022 I can't say for sure, but I'd guess around 9. When the motor is at full rmps the full cycle time out and back in takes 2 seconds. Hope this answers your question.
