Your not gonna believe me but that’s my dads old work truck that truck worked for the city of Norwich in Connecticut that was his personal truck at work.That is literally his truck I know cause of the dent in the passenger side fender he hit a telephone pole with it an caused that dent I can’t believe that truck made it to Pennsylvania so cool

Thought you had my truck at first glance. I have a 84 k20 flatbed, 6.2 diesel. It is the same color with my high dollar paint job. Eight cans of blue Rustoleum spray paint. I have two black strips down the hood. Doesn't always want to start right away but runs good after I get her to start.

Do a tune up replace the carb an fuel pump an a rv cam be as good as new

I used to work in plumbing installing leach Fields I had to drive one of those before if you idle it down so when you go to use Hydraulics you can do it calmly and graciously

These are my favorite trucks I’ve owned and built tons of em my whole life and 2k is a solid deal for a 4x4 dump like that. You could probly just about part out the running gear for that much. I know a guy who had one with a 6 inch lift and 35’s and it looked bad ass. I’ve always wanted a dump truck too and that’s pretty much exactly the one I’ve always wanted to get

The grill and headlights bumper in front are 81-82 era. Many of those cab and chassis were 4:56 geared

idea you take the cab and fenders and bed off the white truck and you put the the squarebody on the white trucks frame and use the white trucks moter

I got an 85 just like it they are the ultimate work truck and beasts

Get u a good 4 barrel carb and it will run a ton better.

I'm 22 and I honestly hate EFI. I can rebuild and tune almost any carb and you'll never have a smoother running engine than a good tuned carb. EFI is just to much to go wrong and to expensive to maintain

About the same condition as an 85 F350 dump truck I just bought. Thankfully, mine has a 460 & runs perfectly.

When you have the box up use a 4 ft 4x4 Or bigger lumber to lay across the frame and wedge it up to the box and lower it till it hits it, like a door stop, then it can’t crush you:-) and as you lift your skid boom tilt the bucket forward slowly to help keep it level

Build a custom flatbed for that think that’s be sick I mean the old one had rust anyway

You should put a cam in the 350 and a couple other things and it will make plenty of power

Look at the title again, If it has Wipers on the Colum it's a 1984+ if its on the dash it's 1981-83. Those headlight bezels, bumper and grille was only 1981-82

I think you just need to work on the carb those trucks are vary reliable with carbs

Oh one more thing is mine has the death wable but I found out that the bell housing on mine is cracked!! Have a new bell housing but have not swapped it out yet!!

Make sure to grease all the joints on the latch for the tailgate i work at a small weld shop in southeast Wisconsin and we fix alot of dump trucks that the latch system seizes from rust and lack of grease

The pto on my 89 c3500 wrecker when you lift up even if its all the way up sometimes it needs that extra "pull" to engage. My rollback is the same way.

I just bought a 98 C3500 that’s 4x4 (thought only K is 4x4 but title says C3500) guess the transfer case was added afterwards? 350 gasser auto with 9’ fisher plow. Needs some work but she drove 1.5 hours home over a mountain. 3k don’t think she’ll be inspectable but she’s should plow the homestead. Curious how much weight I should put in back for plowing ballast and traction

That cab still looks decent. That truck looks to be in above average shape for a K30 C&C. The frames on all of those are so rotted out and cabs are all held down by straps. You actually have a diamond in the rough

Just needs a good choke adjustment. I like carbs but it's so hard to find someone who can set one up properly. Give it a tube grille and a very 1984 paint job. Or send it to the guys at the Pakistani Truck channel, they'll rebuild it and make it pretty.

Yeah that front end is either 81 or 82, had about 10 of these various square body’s or was swapped in accident? But that wiper switch on dash is early 80’s as well. What axle ratio is it, I had a 86 with 4:56’s dump truck 55 was all it really had got to that speed quick. It’s around 160hp and high 200 ft lbs stock I believe.

I don't think the wheels from the black dually will work on the K30? I believe the IFS front hubs have a smaller center than the lock outs on the straight axle, so they won't fit. Just something to check.

You have 4.56 gars. Really slow (off road haul/tow gearing) delete the smog give it a tune-up check out the kingpins for the death wobble and replace your steering dampener also run premium fuel and pump that idle up is just a screw on front of the carburetor just a tiny bit so it can stay idling

Put a ls and a 6 inch lift with a flat bed and gloss black body

Leave the carbureted I have a 83 gmc 1500 with 350 cam run amazing fast had 6.2 Diesel but took out when I bought it and the dash u could get leather vinyl and just vinyl over it look decent cheap

i drive all my vehicles home plate less i useually toss insurance on it if i plan on keeping it, drove my tundra 3 hours away way down in pa all the way to ny no plates passed 3 cops that i seen lol, just drove a dump truck back another hr and half, traded a harbor freight welder post hole digger and a xbox for it, 04 chevy 3500 85k, 3500hrs, ruins, drives ,stops dumps 4x4 lol, have $600 into it with hole new front end

just remember, you can barely find them anymore, you can always buy a new one, $60.000 or more but these older ones are rare and thats what makes them so valuable that things worth $6000 all day the way it sits, people need to stop degrading the worth of their own things, or over valuing them at times, like the 4x4 quads you see going fo $5000 when theyve ran them for 3 years and put thousands of miles on them for some reason people think they can get more than what they paid new for it its insane, WHEN THEY STILL SELL THE SAME ATV FOR LITERALLY $500 more BRAND NEW
