After watching your video on this Stabila BM300 26ft. tape measure, I was curious to see this in action for myself, as I am getting a little bored with using the standard Stanley, Milwaukee, Johnson tapes (which all start to crack after 1-2 months of daily use). So I ordered one from Amazon a month ago, it just arrived earlier this week, and I have been giving it the go-through routine. So far I have used it on these projects: interior stair work, setting spindle gaps, hardwood measures, and prepared an estimate for a front porch stair & railing work by taking exterior measurements in the dry dirt. All worked out well, no hick-ups in tape retraction. I am impressed with this tape, it fits well in the hands, feels great, has 2-sided Imperial (inches) measures, NO metric that gets in the way, and a very convenient pocket clasp. I like it and will start using this as my #1 go to tape measure. Now let's how it performs in 6 months from now after daily usage. Having been converted over to Stabila on their spirit levels, I am curious to see if they can carry forward their brand quality into measuring tools🏅
@@nrhoofcare7724 still excellent, the first 10” or so are getting a little beat up, but that is expected. Other than that everything still works fine. I’ve come to totally depend on using it vs. other tapes, in fact I won’t start a job until I have it in hand. Not going back to using any other brand.
I started off with tge stanley powerlock, tried luftkin, has larger numbers. Bought the niteetes like the flat black with bright green numbers, the blade us flimsey. Bought milwaukee stud has thicker black, larger numbers and the belt hook us the best. Is a heavy one for 35 rt. Uee stanely fat max auto lock at nmy cutting station A customer gave me a dewalt wont be used much. As finish carpenter use laser tapes now I have been considering stabila tape after watching this video will lokk forward to tge new addition. Time fir yard sale get rid of tge others.
@drdecks Just a question, seems like the Milwaukee stud magnetic would be the tape for you so I’m wondering why you don’t use it. It has the built in finger stop and your fingers are protected so that’s great. The type is dual sided as well and it’s nearly indestructible. It’s not flat but like you said you can flatten it. Just wondering why you don’t use it. Belt clip is easy on off as well.
Sounds like a piece of junk if you’re always replacing it. I used to do that with Craftsman back in the day then I just realized it was junk and I was wasting my time replacing it 😂
