This happened to coventry city, Highfield Road and ricoh arena. Although I still think you bees will make it to the big time come the end of the season.

@@Upsurging93 Coventry sold Highfield Rd and moved to a stadium that they didn't own so they're now screwed. I think Brentford own the new stadium, they're not renting it surely?

@@thefivepoints my point wasnt about owning the stadium. We used to own the stadium but got into financial difficulty and issues with the owners. My point refered to the original comment, which was about the stadiums location and the lack of care about the fans.

He meant for the rules and regulations grounds have to adhere to in Premier League. It has stricter requirements.

Building it for the prem has nothing to do with the capacity. It’s the quality of the facilities that need to adhere to premier league standards.

@@adamsutter5336 and where did u here that lol, I’ve been to prem grounds that are similar states to Griffin park, when my team qpr went up we didn’t need to build a new stadium, we were fine with our 100 year old ground so that makes no sense

@@bezer5901 Griffin Park still had standing instead of seats in some areas, not allowed in the premier league or even the championship (Brentford had to get wavers from the EFL). Stadiums also require media rooms that need to adhere to Prem standards, Griffin Park's did not. Prem stadiums also need to have acceptable facilities for disabled supporters, Griffin Park didn't. When Brentford first got into the playoffs in 2015 the club was in talks with other clubs (Tottenham, Fulham, Wembley Stadium) about sharing a ground if they were to get promoted as Griffin Park would not have been accepted. Your stadium may be 100 years old but clearly the facilities of the ground have been updated to be acceptable to Prem requirements.

@@bezer5901 And show me where in the rule book it says clubs must have a certain capacity to be in the premier league. And when you find that rule you'll find it is no more than what Bournemouth has (which was less than the capacity at Griffin Park).

I'm a footy fan but live very close to a Premiership rugby ground, have to admit that I've never been tempted to go and watch a game...despite having friends who are season ticket holders there and being able to hear the crowd from my garden (or sticking my head out of a window) when a match is being played. Where I live there is a bit of snobbiness between followers of football and rugby, which is a bit pointless as both are great sports, and it seems like most people follow one or the other. It will be interesting to see how the ground share works, or if Irish actually get to add some of their branding to the stadium, hope both teams and their fans enjoy the ground and use it as a springboard to success.

The changing room area had a bit of a hospital feel to it, pretty anaemic, but I am sure the ground will look far more Brentford once the branding and history are on display. Loved the touch with recycling the bricks, that was clever, not something I have seen in any other stadium.

I think that the person giving the tour said that they didn’t put a lot of the branding up at that time. I bet if you went now there would be decals and branding everywhere.

I sincerely hope they’ve addressed this in time for this season. Can understand holding off on sponsor-related branding but its borderline inexcusable that there’s nothing Brentford anywhere you look. Just blank granite.

@@joshhart4801 Thats not true. This will be one of the most accessible stadiums in the UK and you can see there are positions for wheelchair users all around the stadium including in each of the hospitality options.

@@jackmorgan8684 oh yes sorry I've re watched it and I've seen the wheelchair spots, but at first i didn't see them and they didn't explain where they will be so i just presumed they wasn't proud of where they've put them so it must be indoor.

@@jackmorgan8684 Yes I know this but as they seemed to pass by these platform areas ( without a mention, why?) there is what looks like perspex/glass screens on top of the walls. So I'm wondering if you have to watch through the screens. I t would have been helpful if they had stopped and shown one then we would have known but it was like they didn't exist.

It get's cold here in the UK, I went to LA Galaxy's stadium a few years back and all the concourses are in the open.

As a Fulham fan who lives near Kew Bridge, Brentford are very lucky to have such an amazing location. It's not going to be the heart of the community, like some stadiums, but it's going to do a good job and will be a great place to visit. Almost as good as the Cottage : )
