For offroad driving, stedi 3303 is more suited. It is spread as well as reach. St4k and type x pros are mainly for highways.

Nice spotties but do you have a pillar pod for your gauges of have you just done a bracket and gauge pod? I’ve got a 2021 xlt and can’t find a pillar pod anywhere lol

Nice one mate, they look good. I am thinking of ditching the lightforce htx for a set of these as they have failed on me twice in 2 years. These stedi lights are reasonably priced as well.

I heard the HTX mk1 had a few warranty issues, I gave them another shot with the HTX2, 1 LUX AT over 1.7km with the spread of the LED ring, I gotta be honest, not even a fair comparison to the this stedi light. If you want the comparative light, Lightforce Genesis. I will keep buying them until they are no longer Australian made. ;) Stedi is a great light for the price.

@AzventuresAustralia
@AzventuresAustralia 5 лет назад
Andrew Thomas cheers mate, good question I bought the supercenter special as I was a cheap ass and being a double row bar it was too big to fit underneath the front runner rack I have so I put it up top and just got used to it being up there, so when I put all the new lights on I kept all the same orientation mate, and also I like the look of it up top too 🤙🤙

How much the install into the Lightforce fascia panel mate? I got quoted $1320 labour for my setup listed below. Funnily enough for similar setup from Stedi on the bullbar of my ranger, except for the roo lights, I didn't go spot/flood, just the 13.4" Slimline full flood bars. I am also putting 1 of the new diffused cubed C4 work lights on each corner of my roof rack so 4 in total, 1 extra 13.4" slimline flood bar off the back of the roof rack. The $1320 includes custom built fuse panel and relay panel. All these lights are to be switched from the same Lightforce fascia panel that you have.
@AzventuresAustralia
@AzventuresAustralia 5 лет назад
Hey bro I bought the fascia panel and installed it myself originally, which was really easy mate, I wouldn’t have any idea how much the install would cost but for what you’ve been quoted seems like it’s pretty steep but also might be a really good job mate so I’m not sure

I'm planning on kitting out a ranger so if you went back in time what bar work would you have done? Because I have noticed you have removed the front scrub bars and your original rock sliders
@1989cranston
@1989cranston 5 лет назад
Without even knowing his answer I would assume it is so he could run front flares and get a more negative offset rim to give him a wider stance. I was contemplating getting rid of my arb scrub bars for the same reason but then realised that PCOR ( Patriot campers ) have made a really slim sheet metal flare for the ranger that they used on their ranger super tourer build. it is designed to fit with brush bars. so best of both worlds.

I got thumbs down on my Stedi recommendations as well.... what's not to like about them ? I like the side shooters or ditch lights. I used the Stedi mining spec 6 LED flood lights on my small Hyundai excel lol. They sit above the Stedi double stack 16 LED Lightbar

Came here looking for a decent LED light bar or a set of LED long range driving lights. Disappointing, all this gear is aimed at driving a 4x4 users at 15-25 km an hour max and trying to make the first 30 to 50 m of bush land look like daylight. As a driver, at 100+ km/h, or more realistically at 30+ meters a second, I don't want for, nor care about possums in the trees, I don't want to see wombats, deer or kangaroos 30 degrees to my left or right that are not going to be remotely in my path at that speed. At that speed there is no need at all to have the first 50 m of the road "extra" illuminated by the LED lights. Not to mention the idiotic side lights shown in this video. In short: It's pointless and damaging to long range night vision. What I am interested in is the objects that will be in the way 200, 150, 100 meters in front of the vehicle. Any links to a serious non 4x4 camping videos welcome. -In the mean time I'll keep my old school deep focused halogen spot lights.

im sorry you fee this way Krispy muppet!! I feel that both the 42 inch light bar and the potties would both suit your needs mate they aren't just targeted at 4x4 users although it might seem that way... all of the lights on my car each have their own purpose, but I do love to use them at high speed on the highway and it looks insane when all on at the same time. the potties have an insane over 1km throw on them and are perfect for the highway but I use them more for the country roads as I want to be able to see as far ahead as possible for any cows, kangaroos, goats, wombats and any other animals that are out at night cause I would rather not hit them and have some time to slow down safely , that paired with the 11.5inch lights bars that shine off into the side of the roads has saved me many times and have seen animals before they've seen me and probably have some setup like this on future builds as they're more useful than they seem. but when I'm offload on a low range track I turn them off and use many the roof too light bar as it has more flood than spot but still has good distance as I want to light up as much of the track as possible and is less harsh to look into than the spotties. as for the rear facing light bar it is absolutely not necessary at all for most people, but as I do a lot of beach fishing and tow mates boats its actually very suited to my needs as we are always starting or finishing in the dark and this helps with loading the boats or lighting up the beach to see what we are landing. I think you would find that like you said "old school" halgogen spotlights are a thing of the past and there's only a few companies using this technology as its a thing of the past. hopefully my explanation for each light may have changed your mind about LED
