these speed duel boxes are unironically my favorite product that konami releases. I know they arent for everyone, specifically for collectors but I love you can just open and play.
This is the type of product that will keep yugioh alive, it gets new players into it. I have gotten 5 friends into yugioh because of speed duels and alcohol lmfao.
As someone who recently returned to the game (three months ago), I found Speed Duel to be very enjoyable and easier to learn compared to learning the actual TCG meta.
These have good reprints for retro formats. You definitely get some really nice cards for Edison. Some of the secret rare upgrades are nice for edison/goat players who want full holo decks of previously unholo cards. Highly suggest if you're a returning player to check out goat and edison. Large communities and constant IRL tournaments.
Also, regarding the decks: I think the one you were confused about was the secret hunter, because in the anime he won red-eyes off joey and it said his theme was just rare cards. The set behind the skill cards is also just a bunch of random cards they throw in for anybody who wants to modify their decks a bit, I think they had stuff like book of moon there in a previous set
Yeah, it'd be funny if they made all of the cards in Rare Hunter's deck actually Rare or higher. (This extends not only to Seeker, but also to the other Rare Hunter's like Arcana and Strings, as well; maybe a part 2 will have Umbra+Lumis, Odion, Marik, Ishizu, Bonz, Bakura, Mai, and...I guess Kaiba since Yugi and Joey are here. They can add Rex Raptor support, like his new King Rex, there too, since he was missed here.) I think they should have just made Seeker's Deck an Exodia or Exodia Incarnate deck and let players finally use the card "Graceful Charity". That was his most iconic card aside from Exodia.
@@jakue34gaming16I've had plenty of European secret rares. They still don't compare to speed duel. It has to be a different manufacturer because they're just so much better.
@@selfloathingweekly actually no lol , 6-8 boxes so I can pull all the promos and keep atleast one sealed for my collection, and since speed duel doesn’t sell out fast ever I can usually pick it up anywhere for a year + after release
I love the speed duel promos. Such an affordable way for people to collect nostalgic cards in secret rare. I have a nice little collection of these already and can't wait to add more
Widespread ruin had this art originally in the OCG right? As usual speed duel secrets are fantastic. Duel links aka speed duel is usually pacing their product releases properly. Their print quality is fantastic too.
We had it in millennium pack as a rare alt art but I feel the card may have been censored because it's all of the most recent printings now that have this art but never been claimed as "alt art"
As someone who has played yugioh since 2002 speed duel seems like a great option for those of us who like to play casually! I’m definitely kicking myself for not getting into this sooner! Totally gonna get this set!

7:25 this is a reprint of the alt art widespread ruin in Millennium Pack! It was a rare in that set, which had Winged Dragon of Ra: Immortal Phoenix as an ultra!
I just can’t get over the bold SPEED DUEL text right under the pictures on the cards but these definitely look like the best speed duel cards I’ve seen
just bought my box. love that it has the alternate art Dark magician as well as the OG art for red eyes black dragon. speed duel is always a fun format to play for that Anime feel.
I always like the Speed Duel sets, because it gives us a chance to get new versions of older cards without having to trust things to luck, since the commons are always guaranteed. I end up getting four of each of them; three for my Speed Duel collection and one for the regular collection.
I picked up a box of the past couple speed duel drop and me and me and my son spent all evening playing and watching some old GX episodes. Fantadtic time
I LOVE this set and all the speed duel sets, I got back into yugioh because of Midterm Paradox, then absolutely LOVE the Duelist of Shadows box! Good luck to everyone that's in the giveaway :)
The secret rares from this box are great. As someone who lapsed for a long time from playing the TCG, Speed Duel is a great way to just casually get some games in with friends.
The 4 sets has the 8 decks. The first set of cards that you openned was the "extra cards" for the main 8 decks! Thats why you see them so randomly but, they are part of the main decks.
Nice to have another speed duel set from the original Yu gi oh series!(also amazing because the first set is really expensive now) Speed duel is one of the really cool way to get out of the meta/rogue decks in locals. Awesome set overall and we finally have a new speed duel set.
I love speed duels. Duel links was my jam for a long time and I enjoyed it way more than master duel. Small decks and quick duels are where its at for me. And so many iconic battle city cards here sets my Nostalgia off 😂
I have speed duel around just to have a nice chill time with friends at home without having to get super sweaty with a full on match. That plus I do think these secrets will be collectible in the future just based off of how amazingggg they look
Me and my best friend like playing Speed Duels because the skill cards allow decks that were previously unplayable a chance to be at least somewhat viable.
4:37 I believe Joey didn't use red eyes in battle city arc cause he wanted to become a true duelist or something. Yugi had the red eyes at that time if I remember correctly
The thing I love about these speed duel boxes is the great secret rare reprints for old school cards. You could almost build an entire goat deck in secret rare at this point.
The Widespread Ruin art appears to be an alt art that was used in Japan (not the first print though). It has already been printed in English in Millennium Pack apparently.
Those cards behind the skills (Summoned Skull & Zera) are “extra” cards that don’t necessarily fit into the decks they released in this product, but can help out something that might’ve previously been released.
I love Speed Duel sets. They literally got me back to Yu-Gi-Oh. I fell out of Yu-Gi-Oh maybe 10 years ago or something, been having a few atempts to come back but generally didn't like the way it was going. I wanted my old Yu-Gi-Oh back. Then I found Speed Duels at the start of the year and have been plying with my girlfriend. Which in turn made me try Master Duel which in turn made me buy a few packs, and singles aaaaand I'm back bby (not competitively yet though)! Anyway we've been eager on every Speed Duel set, even loved opening some of the old packs. Find it weird you didn't pull Flame Swordsman and that's literally all I want from this set. Bought 1 will open tomorrow, might get 1 or 2 more (for playsets of cards) if I don't pull him but that's very....uncertain. Anyway massively disappointed the Joey support is not specifically for Flame Swordsman. Would've loved his skill to summon him specifically with some buff, maybe with Salamandra (although it can't be just normnal summon + salamandra sa it might be a bit too strong) so disappointed the best we could do with him is to have him as a 1800 beat stick... Huge letdown for me. Also massively disappointed that the Rare Hunter is just ass....why isn't he Exodia!?!?! I mena I get why, it probably breaks the game with a 20 card deck. But maybe his skill could've been something like "Flip at start of duel: add the 5 pieces of Exodia to your deck(or maybe Exodia to your hand and the other 4 pieces to the deck) in this duel you cannot draw more than 2 cards per turn" and this is just of the top of my head. Some restriction to make you unable to draw your deck in 1 turn. Anyway I guess they found it too bothersome so instead he has a random generated deck. Disappointing. Don't get me wrong excited for the set and we'll definately try the decks against each other before we mesh them up with the other cards for draft shenanigans. I'm especially excited for Mako's deck. Hand in mind trying to build one for him with previous support but couldn't pull a single Legendary Fisherman II xD so that idea got quickly abandoned. Glad to finally have cards for him, although atm his older skill cards look more to my taste. To top it of contrary to many in the community's mind I can't get enough of Duelist KIngdom and Battle City...fuck GX and the rest (sorry lads) just give me everything classic Yu-Gi-Oh. I won't mind Orichalcos set but generally givet me all. Give me a big DK box, we only had starter decks for that era, give me another Mai deck (maybe this time solo Harpies), give us the stupid Kaiba clown, Panik, Bandit Keith, Bonez, Tea, Shadi, another Pegasus(perhaps not but I love him so YES) I'll gobble it up all. Give us another box for Battle City finals, have a box for the Bakura table top arc, everything give me more classic Yu-Gi-Oh and I won't ask a question Konami, not even once!
I collect speed duels whenever I can find them, but I don’t play it other than the traditional sense. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this box.
The secret rares are pretty, especially the classic vanillas like Summoned Skull and Red-Eyes, and Arcana's DM was in desperate need of a reprint (tbh, it's in desperate need of an alternate artwork doing a different pose, and we desperately need an alternate DMG to go with Arcana's DM.) Magi Magi Magician was originally a DMG artwork that came out with the Anniversary Art DM, which we now have alternate arts for, but we can use that version of DMG / Magi Magi on English Cardboard already! I prefer the American art of Widespread Ruin, though it is always nice to have both arts available in secret rare (finally). There are many, many Lost Arts we still don't have.
