I don’t understand the hate, no matter who you are someone will always have a bigger more expensive setup. As long as you like it and you are happy, that’s all that matters! Life is hard enough as it is…Appreciate the channel JAL
Who else uses red for negative? I had no choice due to the red leads being shorter on my AB Hawks and not reaching properly to my binding post. So red is the negative on my setup! Thanks for the awesome content sir.
I have done things like this in the past but I would wrap the ends near the connection points with black tape for about 6 inches to a foot to show that the wire is a negative and leave the positive all red. You could also spray paint the wire black, this is more or less so others can understand your wiring without a diagram.
Man you ain’t wrong about Bassheads on a Budget. I just joined a couple weeks ago and it really is a hate group. I didn’t know if you ran Skar you were poor. So many experts, so little good advice.
@@angstyqnah, you're not a hater... you just don't care for the brand. Everyone has brands they like and ones they don't. It's what keeps company's around for everyone. 👍
Nothing wrong with skar, and this is coming from a dude who runs all sundown and FI and used to run skar. However I will say it’s worth paying the extra money for sundown, there’s plenty of videos showing proof you gain at least 1db directly swapping subs, same box same power sundown is louder. Has to do with more motor force higher quality soft parts more Xmax it’s just overall a more efficient subwoofers but for the money skar is really good and sounds decent
Ppl without tight walls will never understand the struggle of wiring subs and balancing in on a baffle while trying to keep it from moving while pushing in terminals 😊
I would start booting all them haters out of bassheads on a budget....im an admin in sundown audio buy/sell/trade,sundown audio spl,and loud af...i boot them people hating and spammers with a quickness...should be a zero tolerance in car audio...Theres no place for them
Usually if you hook it all with the same on all no matter which side I'm guessing as long as it's wired all the same they'll be in the same phase but it'll sound better and correct wiring the positive wires to the positive terminals and negative the same! Lol I always if the wires are the same color the gate will be different
Yea I hate those silver wood screws the black ones ( not the dry wall small tight threaded ones) the regular ole black wood screws are the best for lol wood!!!
I was wondering if you knew anything about the hooliganx subs I have 2 and can not get them to sound right I'm kinda in your area any help would be appreciated
I don’t care what brand it is. Long as it sounds clean and works I’ll run it.. I started basing again last year. Started with a sundown x8v3 and was let down because of my stupidity. Ran a Skar for a week hated it. Ct sounds meso for a year. Just sold it to order 2 ct meso 12s for a lil ol civic
First off love the info and basshead general cool shittedness (custom words lol) I actually work for altenloh brink and co. Aka Spax. Just for my own peace of mind what size screw are you using. My go to is usually 14x2 or 2.5
if those subs plays the lows that good I wounder how one would do in my trunk? I want to put it in a 3.4 cu.ft box tuned to 25.6hz. not sure if I should tune to like 27hz and have to box be bigger. I love the low notes; As of right not I think I am getting around 130db at 23hz which makes my hair wiggle in the window, I want more pressure. Any thoughts?
Man those subs seem to doing a great job, especially brand new, I was pretty doubtful because of the motor size but I gained a db by break in and reduced my Temps by 50%, I need some help with my front port, my truck is absolutely flat from 28-45 which it really should not be
@@johnd5542 this is a demo truck that I really want to demo low and it does it does a 58@18 and then kinda dies down by a db to 28 then it is flat up until it rolls off around 48-50hz,i want the hi end to burp around 42 so I can do some good #'s while still playing low, it is 6-18's on 40kish
I have a question for you Mr. Jerry Ain't Loud... I'm thinking about getting either a 05 or 07 Sequoia. My teammate told me that if I get it he recommended me getting 4 15's rather than getting 6 12's. I'm going with DC LEVEL 5's for the subs. My setup is going to be a no wall. What do you recommend sir. Thanks for your time, help, and for responding. I watch your vids EVERYDAY. I live in Fayetteville NC and I would love to give you a demo once I get my ducks in a row.
Hell yeah man it's looking good , I'm running a ds18 15 hooligan X the new he one that's black but I got to build a new box for it cuz it's already flexing the 1.5 inch mdf box I built but I'm hoping 1 25 inch long 6 inch aero port will work on it in a 2.53 box but idk but I know I got to do the electrical cuz the older ds18 amp is dropping it down to 12.3v when it hits hard and yea I'm looking at js now lol
I have 2 12 inch hooliganx can't get them to sound right 3.9 cube box 4inch aero port lots of port noise they are tuned at 30 need ideas to make them sound better
Thanks guys ans I was thinking about running 2 6 inch ports at 36.5 inches so it would be tuned at about 30 ish hz but I tried to get them from B.A.P. but the site wasn't working so I had to get one off Amazon but if I run one port at 25 inches the port calculator thing said it it should be tuned at 32.01hz but idk how true that site thing is oh and I got that 320a alternator from JS in my cart right now just waiting on some more OT lol
Forgot to mention my amp. Right now I have a Ampere Audio 7500 and will be getting more or getting a AA 5000 for each one which would be wored down to .5. My electrical is going to be top notch. My only thing is that getting a toyota alt i can ONLY get a 250amp. I have one for my 18 Highlander
Hey Jerry ain't loud love the videos but I have a question I would like your response on. I've got a 2012 civic sedan with a down4sound profab ported box with 2 sundown u 12s on a jp23 at 1ohm. My question is would 1 sundown xv2 12 be as loud as 2 u 12s with 2 jp23s strapped trying to lose some weight. Take care and God bless 🙏
I love spax except for the small t10-t15, I like their lag screws the best but it doesn't take a lot to strip one then gotta drill them out and they r tough to drill
Love the content I'm running 4 mtx audio 12s on a 1000watt amp now this is a budget build and it sounds great for what it is I'm looking to upgrade any donations would really be appreciated
the issue was the blue and white wire, Duston thought white was + but blue is so he wired them backwards. then on red and black he used red for + when it should have been black + since the other 5 were wired backwards.
People from all over the World run DS18. Hispanics aren't even our main buyers by a Longshot. By the way, we sell x3 as much as Sundown does every year and growing more by 20% a year or more.
