8:58 You died there because you started at the end of the level, but, because of Nabbit, the camera was at the start/was focused on Nabbit. You were off-screen, means the game just thought that you were like fallen in a death pit and counts it as a death. That´s my best explination I can came up with.

i think the nabbit problem is that the level starts at the point where it is going to count down to the start of the chasing, but since mario starts all the way at the other side of the stage, it immidietly died because its out of the screen
