Finally!!!! Someone who actually said it loud that he never ever did any tests and still had a healthy Aquarium. I had given up the hobby for about 25 years and just restarted it about a month back. So coming back into it, i decided to look up a few videos on RU-vid, boy was that a mistake. Never knew that during my sabbatical a Monster named "Nitrogen Cycle" has reared its ugly head. Back in the day, it used to take me only a single day to buy a tank and set it up, fish, plants, filters, lights, the works and never face any problem. I live in Nairobi, Kenya and we have non of these "Magic Potions" everyone talks about. No Prime or Stability or what have you. Lol, the only thing i see in pet shops are Anti-Chlorine or some General Aid. I do miss the old days.

Same, When I was a teen in the 90's My Dad had 5 fish tanks. One 55 gallon filled with oscars and jacks. No problems I didn't know squat about fish care.. But they lived for many years!

Just got a 75 gallon with a really nice fluval filter went crazy on my setup spent over $1000 even got all the chemicals for the chlorine and stuff it was my mistake to add them to the tank only a hour after setting it up but in the past never had a fish die from it. I got 2 comet goldfish and a koi. Just woke up to the koi banging and the roof and died one minute later. Comets are still hanging in but can tell they’re struggling. Sucks man… a lot hope they survive.

I set up my 70 gallon tank about 7 months ago and it was only crystal clear for about 2 months and I just can’t seem to get it to stabilize again . I’m getting so frustrated with it I’m already thinking about emptying it out :( Water changes don’t seem to do anything, new filters haven’t worked . Yep. Only temporary when my second pond is done the shubunkins will be moving out to the old pond. I do keep up with water changes and have a ton of filtration on that tank because of the heavy stocking. That being said if I took 7 out there would be no fish left. The sarrassas have already been moved to the outside pond. Watch the other videos and youll notice that.
