I am still using some of those round palettes in the beautiful cases they did several years ago. The formula is still amazing after all this time. Wonder where they went wrong.
I’ve never been wowed by Tarte. These palettes really don’t wow me. I used to like their lip glosses but haven’t purchased them in years. Perhaps a younger person would enjoy these. I do appreciate you showing us these and like the looks you’ve created..
They are so prolific and usually, within that vast amount of new product, there’s a bunch of real winners. Lately, there have been less and less and I am becoming disheartened.
OK the biggest palette is pretty. I like the bigger shadows of the workhorse shades. It's OK. Maybe it's just the green in the palette grabbing me. They're both pretty though. But I'm not particularly drawn to it. I am boring. I love tarte. I like the formula. It is easy to use. Nothing fancy.
That is exactly how I always felt about the brand. But this release of the larger pallet is a disappointment. The color payoff is terrible. This is the first time I’ve ever really had anything genuinely negative to say about anything they produce
Love my Tartelette in Bloom-Never want to be without it. The matte bone/cream shadow in that palette is perfection for me. But you make such a good point that this new mini is priced higher than ND. And we all know ND’s formulas are way better, generally speaking. I’m with you, don’t want to have to use a particular brush to apply certain shadows. The Burgundy shadow looks Gorgeous on you! I will Not wear blue eyeshadow personally. lol

The five pan really is cute and though it’s much more product than Natasha thus making the higher price seem more in line with the product, psychologically I don’t think that’s going to work well for people just because Natasha is such a more luxury name. And the larger pallet is just a huge disappointment. Their other pallets are lovely. This one was really one of the first eyeshadow palette fails from them in my estimation.
I saw the Tarte Glamazon palette in Sephora a few days ago. It has strong tropical vacation vibes. Definitely a summer palette - not something I would use year-round. As you said, the thin compact is really sleek & would be perfect for travel. I put it on my to-buy list for summer, but after seeing your honest review, I may hold off. Love the packaging, though! I reviewed their next release and loved it. So it’s really interesting. It feels like this particular one just didn’t hit the mark but I’m such a fan of the brand that I’m glad I continued on with them into the next release which is quite lovely, the face palette.
The second look with the burgundy was actually pretty cute, but I am very uninspired by Tarte. I really only am into one shadow and shadow or quads these days, even though I did just indulge in the I Need a Nude palate. I just notice that not into palates, and unimpressed with Tarte. You created super cute looks, though.
In general, I feel like they are kind of disorganized there. Like they used to have a foundation stick that I thought was good, but they got rid of it and eventually introduced a new foundation stick that I thought was terrible. Like the spaghetti theory of product innovation - just throw random stuff at the wall and see what sticks, without any kind of real overarching plan.
Yesssssssss. I very very much agree. Also, it almost feels like it’s 1 million different companies. So you’ve got this faction of it that’s constantly testing out stuff on QVC and then you’ve got this kind of man eater dark sophisticated vibe going and then the super young tartelette . And AmazonIan Clay doesn’t know what it is anymore. It’s also going in so many different directions at once

I decluttered all my Tarte palettes except the two Maneaters and the three Tartlette palettes. And I have three minis that are great for travel. But those other five are still on the chopping block. There is so much better out there! They need to upgrade their formulas - both matte and shimmer. And on that five pan, there should have been one mid-tone matte for a transition shade. They all look pretty dark to me. But that Tartlette mascara is my absolute favorite. I’m on my fourth tube! BTW, the five pan Smokey eye you created looks FIRE 🔥 on you!!!
I totally agree, Rabbi. And rather than upgrading their formula, with this launch, they have downgraded majorly. And thank you for the compliment on the five pan. That one really is a pretty palette. But the first one? No no no
The one that interests me most is the 5 pan. I’m scandalized they are charging more for their 5 pan than Natasha Denona-especially when the beautiful ND My Dream Mini just dropped! Gah!!! I get that it’s more product, but I have never finished a ND mini even with less product. Honestly I’d rather have less product and a shadow formula know I can count on. The blue on your cheek looked just like a bruise! If you ever need to look bruised for a Halloween costume, you know where to turn!
The swatches looked very nice and I like how the pallet had a green and blue in there, but wow how disappointing the formula is. I really appreciate you trying out the blue shed. Lately tart has been very disappointing except for their mascara I like their mascara!
Nope not interested just here for u 😂 the only thing im actually interested in is the Chanel release when i can actually get it and it not disapear from under me as i check out and i did order the ND mini release that snuck up out of nowhere because its my colors and i like ND . I guess LE is not coming back with the Vega pallet like she said in Dec, I've been waiting to get that but its still not been stocked. I would never pay more for tarte then ND 😂 thats a laugh. Idk im just not into Tarte that was like the brand of 2016 or something and i dont find them luxery or anything and the price is creeping for what it is. I put tarte and Too faced in the same category and im not that into them anymore.
Honestly the color story here is very pretty! And Tarte does some good eyeshadows for reasonable prices (for the larger palettes), it’s a shame that some of these were patchy!
Hi, I love your videos! Off the subject of this one, was wondering if you would test Youthforia foundation for us? Sounds like it might be good. Also, have you ever tried Bobby Brown Skin Full Cover Concealer? I haven't heard you mention it. It is my favorite; full coverage, moisturizing, does not move or crease. A little bit goes a long way. Please let me know any thoughts you may have on this concealer. I have very dark circles and inner corners of the eyes. Thanks!

Is it my imagination that the Amazon to GO looks better on you, performed better ?? Looks way better than the larger one on the other side. I played with it. I like it. Yes, over priced and too many dark colors.... the 2 shimmers are beautiful, we don't need 3 matte shades of brown that all look the same...that bothers me more than the price. Also it has a mirror, I like mirrors so I'd gladly pay $2 more for the mirror (and I LOVE ND) but 3 brown matte shades that look almost the same on my fair skin are useless.
Hmmm, this is a no for me. You I love Tarte even if not for me, my nieces always enjoy their palettes as gifts. I am not feeling this launch even for my nieces. Well, I’ll say the first palette was a huge no but the second palette is better and it’s nice that it’s larger for the price. The to go palette definitely seemed easier to work with and there is definitely a market for that color story because it’s so every day.

My skin has actually been able to tolerate most of the products that I have tried from Tarte, but I haven't really been too impressed or excited by any of it.
Yikes at the patchy shadows in the Amazonian Clay palette! Easy pass. Tarte should have made the To Go palette cheaper than Natasha Denona. All most people will see is that it costs more and not the amount making it cost more. I can see people saying “I can get a pretty but cheaper neutral quint from ND. So, pass.” Thank you for confirming my feelings to keep being meh about Tarte. 😅
Once I compared the weight of the pallets and I saw how much more this five pan weighs when compared to Natasha Denona, then I understood the price difference but I totally agree with you that when people see at five pan, in their heads, and the psychology of economics is a very powerful thing, think that they are the same and would prefer the Natasha or see the Natasha as a much more luxury product and when that luxury is two dollars less it doesn’t sit well with people
That’s too funny. I see elsewhere in comments people have said that they really liked Tarte and I usually do too. I usually really think that they’re reliable and good. I just don’t really know what happened here. I think this is the first time I’ve ever had to say anything truly negative to say about the brand.
