My first acoustic was a taylor ca. 2004. I eventually installed an L.R. Baggs pickup and I have yet to need another acoustic guitar. Taylor just gets it right. Obviously I’m not on tour with Five For Fighting or BNL. Then I would definitely upgrade :D
great looking guitar. seems reminiscent of a Gibson J-45. My Brother who jast passed away left me his Mexican 210, i love the guitar i just can't play without falling apart. Peace
Meh, they get the job done plugged in and if your tech or you know how to do the "10-minute neck reset" with their bolt-on design, they can be great road guitars, but man they don't hold up unplugged against C.F. Martin, Gibson and especially boutique acoustic brands... I think of Taylor as the acoustic brand for players who are primarily electric players.
I own a higher-end Taylor 524 guitar. Their neck design is solid and extremely comfortable. Acoustically, it sounds just as good if not better than my Martin D-28 or my Gibson J-45. Not sure what you’re scoffing at there, guy
I’ve played fantastic Martins and I’ve also played shit Martins. Not to say I don’t like them, but they’ve had their ups and downs, I have a beautiful D 28, and I like much of what they currently make. I’ve played fantastic Gibsons and I’ve played many shitty ones. Same with guild, etc.. But I always say Taylors always range from good to great. Every single one I’ve played. They are consistently very good tools.
Would you say taylors have better note stability compared to martins? For some reason, very audible when sustaining a strummed chord. To my ears at least...
