The Teatcher needs more health at least enough to take a arrow ,spear ,or 2 ice arrows. And also the Teatcher should be able to dodge attacks and change fighting style depending on amount of enemies and if there long range, or short range.
No surprise there monkey king is basically useless without his cloning ability and it only activates when he hits someone so It's pretty obvious it won't work against someone who dodges.

And the Teatcher should use the sword with both hands and have a special attack were he runs at then into a spin does a barrage of jab attacks ending with 2 slashes at left and right sides
