All I see are extreme foot faults from the high schooler. He needs to get out of that early before he’s been doing it ten years.

@@CurtDawg00 I might also suggest developing an aggressive first serve kick, where the toss is a bit more above the head and not out in front. That way your energy is going up and not necessarily forward. Also, I think you'd kill that serve.

Trey you asked if we think your returns are holding you back, honestly if I had to pick one thing I’d say your net play is one thing that could get you a lot more free points. Someone with your serve, forehand and stature should be closing in on the net every short ball opportunity and putting away volleys to close out on your hard work. Returns are obviously important but at this level not everyone is gonna have a killer serve, however everyone will give you shorts balls and opportunities at the net. That said I’m not even a good player myself so take that with a grain of salt, love the content and keep up the good work.
@chuckersthenut2097
@chuckersthenut2097 5 месяцев назад
Great content. This court was definitely an upgrade from last week. Two things to work on: You need to have somebody feed you short ball after short ball and work on finishing those shots off. Find a guy that likes to drop shot lob and junk ball. Hit with him at least once a week doing point play. Work on forcing yourself to finish those short balls. You missed so many of those today. Backhand return. Find a guy practicing serve and ask if you can jump in and practice returning. When your game is clicking you look really good. You have physical and athletic advantages over a lot of people. Plus it is obvious you love the sport. Keep grinding. I love these Sunday sets.

Tip: If someone starts to throw the second serve in because he is insecure or he cannot do better, step inside court for a meter or so, to play the ball on the rise or at least above net height. I you stay on the same position as with the first serve, you often end up in grinding the ball just before it reaches the floor for the second time. Than you are prone to hit in the net or pull it wide.

I’m kind of like you Trey, have a big serve and most of my practice partner’s serve didn’t challenge me enough to get a better return game. I finally found ppl and it greatly helped but it took a while… really need to prioritize it, maybe have partners stand at the opposing service line and serve at your weakest areas

Idk if you will read this but it seems like you have trouble with those easy balls that look so easy to destroy because you usually just use your arm on those--especially when you have more time to prepare, you just plant your feet and swing with the arm. I would say emulating Kyrgios is a really bad idea. The dude is a tremendous athlete and freelancer. His forehand, backhand, and serve mechanics change from shot to shot because of his high-end hand-eye coordination. There are much better players to use as learning models. Think the difference between Steph and Klay. One guy is the best shooter of all time, the other guy is literally a teaching model used for young shooters in the NBA.

Trey's serving tweak is causing him to foot fault horribly again with his right foot. Collin foot faults, too, sometimes actually crossing the center line on the Ad side... Other than that, this was a competitive set! Your UTR ratings seem to be fairly accurate!

@parkercrossland410

Admittedly most tennis coaches of teams don't actually do much coaching. They expect that that's what individual lessons are for.
@aleksprusa
@aleksprusa 5 месяцев назад
@@parkercrossland410Yeah it’s unfortunate. A lot of the I’d say 65% of schools that don’t have prospects or people planning to play atleast college level tennis are just trying to get their players on the courts in time for season starts. Coaches will coach but it does have to depend on the players determination.
@parkercrossland410
@parkercrossland410 5 месяцев назад
@@aleksprusa I only partially agree with that. I still maintain that most tennis coaches don't know how to (or choose not to) "teach" above the 3.5 to 4.0 level. I picked tennis back up over Covid (took lessons for like a year wen I was 10) and built myself up to the 4.5 level without any instruction or lessons. I was able to practice with a junior college team this past fall hoping that actually being given insights and instruction would allow me to elevate further. The standard of both instruction and accountability that the coach provided to players was very limited and had little emphasis on situational IQ, shot selection, or other non-macro aspects. Every drill was just about deep groundstroke reps and doubles volleying, and honestly it was insulting to my competitive desire. As someone with a limited formal tennis background, I didn't "learn" anything from the 3 months I spent with a collegiate team. I just got used to the faster pace.

Hi, I see that you suffer from tennis elbow and you should have an anti-vibrator on your strings to minimize the vibrations in your elbow and the sound of your racket will also be better and clearer and your game will improve. I suffered from this a long time ago and it changed my game. You can just tie a rubber band like Andre Agassi did and that will do the trick. Good luck from France, best!

@Dasato123
@Dasato123 5 месяцев назад
1) At 12:50 your basketball instincts hurt you again. If your first move was to take steps back instead of jumping straight up to hit that lob you would have got it. 2) Collins shoulder turn on his serve is probably less than half of what it could be. He’s really not making use of his youthful flexibility. 3) Best part of Collins game is that it sounds like he has strong hands. Also he has the smarts to hit a underspin forehand and backhand using a Continental grip. Both need more refinement but at the high school level it could really bail you out of trouble. 4) At 7:50 SLIDE?!! Are you nuts! We’ve already seen you tweak your knee before. The reason you missed that shot is that you bent down at the waist at the last second as you were hitting the shot. Just bend the knees more and run through the shot. Your height gives you a advantage on high balls but puts you at a disadvantage on low balls. 5) For anyone who’s going to play Trey. On the ad side the vast majority of his aces come down the middle. He hasn’t shown the ability to serve really wide consistently. Take a step or two towards the middle and give him a smaller target. Of course in today’s forehand centric world that would create its own problems. 6) On your service return the tip of the racket is actually above your head. This is kinda bizarre. Watch clips of pros returning serve, for the majority the racket head will between belly button and chest high. On a fast serve the longer distance that your racket has to travel can hurt you. Anytime you find yourself doing something way out of the ordinary ask yourself is it really helping me or hurting me? Chances are it’s hurting you or you’d see the majority of pros doing it too.
