@maroonenterprise677 It's not about people thinking Indians can't be billionaires. I am more than certain there are tons of wealthy entrepreneurs but from a statistical perspective, I too heard that China has the 2nd most billionaires, possibly to even overcome the US in the near future.

Economic development generates wealth, but it matters a lot what happens to this wealth. When enough of it is used to expand opportunities for everyone by providing access to things like quality health and education, or smart and sustainable public infrastructure, then everyone benefits. But when most or all of it is concentrated in a small elite abusing the institutions of a corrupt government, then the people who are not part of that elite will inevitably suffer, yes.

South Africa is one of few upper middle class economy in Africa and highly industrialized with a diversified economy. That's why it's on top despite it's challenges.
