University of Wisconsin-Madison Asst. Prof. Mahua Dey specializes in the surgical management of brain and spinal cord tumors. She partnered with Jacques Galipeau, Marilyn Anderson Prof. of Oncology and an expert in cancer immunotherapy, to develop a vaccine to treat glioblastomas, a lethal form of brain cancer. The vaccine uses potent immune stimulators called fusokines to increase the development of T cells, the body’s natural disease fighters, and recruit them to the brain.

My sister was diagnosed 8 months ago. She chose standard of care following surgery. So far no recurrence. When might human trials begin?
