Here for the Kosas BB Gel Cream deets but so grateful for the Tom Ford information as well! I love the recent but I guess now it’s the previous cream, shadow formula.
You got BOTH TF quads!! What a coup! 💪🏻 The creme formula is my favorite from TF! My heart absolutely sank when I heard it was reformulated. I am so relieved it’s actually great! Thank goodness! Whew!! I will pick up Ember Bronze eventually! (Maybe at the next Sephora sale or department store sale) They are both gorgeous, but it’s the one that makes my heart flutter! It reminds me of Body Heat in the wet/dry formula. Someone pointed that out on Instagram and now I can’t unsee it…but I don’t have Body Heat so it’s fine with me! I wonder if these quads were meant to be fall releases but are late. They just seem unusually smoky for spring releases (Not that we can’t wear whatever we want, whenever we want)
They are absolutely totally too smoky for spring. It makes no sense. But they’re gorgeous and I agree with you, Ember bronze, broken or not. It’s the one.
Oh wow! The TF quads are gorgeous 😮💨Iconic Smoke is my fave but they are both stunning. I am impressed at how well the Kosas BB gel cream applied! It did give good coverage. I agree that SPF shouldn’t be put in makeup. It makes it go bad faster and it will give some people a false sense of having enough sunscreen by just using the product. I loved both eye looks but the Iconic Smoke is my favorite look. You looked beautiful❤
Thank you so much. I always get so excited when I see your lovely comments. It really did cover well for a foundation with light coverage. It evens things out very nicely. I agree that there’s just no way that any amount of SPF in a tinted moisturizer is going to give enough coverage. It’s so true
The new Tom Ford quads are really beautiful. You look great in both of them, Rebecca! I’ve always found grays and blues look flattering on me. Back in the 80’s(I know I’m dating myself here lol), I had a Maybelline eyeshadow palette with gray and light pink, and it was subtle and pretty on and went with anything I wore. The smoke palette really reminds me of the effects that that palette had. It’s definitely more of a soft smoky eye, which is so wearable for day as well as night. The bronze palette is also beautiful, with that rosy copper shade bringing out the green in your eyes. I have hazel eyes, and certain shades really bring out the green in them. I bet that would look great on me as well! Do you know if these are limited edition? I want to get some of the new Chanel spring collection, and now I want these!😫
It's not just your Ember Bronze quad Rebecca that came broken. Everyone that I've seen on YT that is reviewing it has received that same broken shade. It seems to be a huge defect this go around 🤔
@@NotFitforPrintBeautyyeah Lena from Lenallure posted yesterday that her SA sent it out extremely wrapped well and still came broke...then her replacement came broken as well so something is def wrong with that shade ☹️ bit they'll get it fixed I'm sure
I reeeealllly wanted the Soleil Neige Lumiere D’Hiver palette but it wasn’t available in Australia and I couldn’t even buy it from sites like Selfridges because ‘the item is not able to be shipped to Australia’. What did Australia ever do to Tom Ford lol 😂 I mean it’s not like we can’t get ANY Tom Ford makeup here, it just seems to be that one particular palette 🤷♀️
I’m confused. The Kosas gel cream lists zinc oxide as 1st ingredient after water. Zinc oxide is definitely an SPF. It looks lovely on you. I will get a sample to see if the fragrance bothers me. Thanks.
A lot of brands add zinc oxide to complexion products to thicken them and add opacity. It may technically have some spf coverage, but Kosas might not have wanted to go through the regulatory hurdle of getting an spf rating.
Yessssss. Thank you. Exactly. And I’ve always felt that, alternately, some brands use it for thickening and then go the extra mile and have it classified as spf. I think that’s why sooo many complexion products have spf!
I'm really interested in that Kosas burst gel tinted moisturizer (or whatever it's call; such a long name!). Currently my skin is in an odd state and I can't stand the feeling of foundation on it. It looks really pretty on you! Definitely sells it to me.

All the Ember Bronze quads are coming in broken it's because of the shade is so soft , It's not all the shipping people are getting them broken when they are wrapped to perfection and then the replacement quads are also coming in broken it's a defect in the formula not exactly the shipping . So anyone getting that color way needs to know this going into the purchase u might just end up with a broken quad no matter how many times it is replaced . I haven't seen 1 that is actually intact . I did get the Iconic smoke quad then I finally ordered Nude dip as well even though I have alot of TF quads I never got that one and it's the original quad I wanted , goes to show u always grabbing the newer ones.
Yes. That particular shade seems to be an issue 100% of the time so far. It’s still so gorgeous! I’m glad you got nude dip. It’s a classic for a reason

Ohhh as a redhead with brown eyes, the Ember Bronze is calling my name big time. And it seems to be in stock at my local department store so I think I'll call in and check it out in person! I'm also intrigued about the Kosas BB Burst, considering there's no perfume in the ingredient list. I wonder if it's a natural ingredient causing the strong scent? The Kosas foundation is actually one of my favourites (especially in winter for my dry skin) so I might try the BB Burst for the summertime as a lighter alternative. Fab reviews as ever, Rebecca!!

I loved the Ember Bronze! I would not use a SPF with fragrance of BB cream.. so that’s something I would not be interested in. I”m surprised at Kosas for putting fragrance in there.
Kosas has contacted me and they said there’s no such thing as fragrance in it. However, they’re getting around something. Because they’re also saying it doesn’t have SPF but it has a ton of zinc and all the SPF properties. And they’re saying it doesn’t have fragrance but it does list lavender. I don’t know what’s happening there. I asked them to be specific and they have not been yet.
I was definitely interested in the Kosas product, but two things make it a no. 1) It doesn’t have SPF. I definitely like the extra SPF when it comes to those kinds of products. The Tom Ford quads are beautiful, and I am actually waiting on mine. I can’t wait.
Will have to let me know what you think of the Tom Ford . I just don’t like SPF because it breaks down and irritates my skin but I do understand that desire for more SPF. It certainly can’t hurt

Rebecca, you know by now how I feel about TF Quads and the ridiculous prices we are charged in Australia, which is why I don't like to comment about their products. I feel the colour stories are bland and boring and no-one could ever explain to me why they justified paying such outlandish prices for four boring shadows, which is why I got my own via eBay. I was watching this video on my tablet, and even with my face pressed up against it, could not see the shadows from the first Quad on the lids. All I saw was the palest hint of grey, after the darkest shade was applied! After you had finished, you may as well have just applied the palest shade with the shimmer over the lid, as this is all that I saw - two shades. The second Quad looked liked you only had the reddish shade all over the lid by itself. When you apply blush, you always amp up the amount you use for us to see, yet don't with the eyes. You're showing us one of the most expensive shadows on the market, yet hardly anything showed up visually. I could have grabbed the red shade from Honeymoon, which would have passed for the second Quad in its entirety. Any of the golds or light browns from Body Heat, Honeymoon and Suspicion could have passed for the first look too. There was nothing that differentiated these Quads from the endless others from this brand. Maybe, it's time that you bit the bullet and applied the shadows so that they can be seen. I know this will terrify you, but if you do it for blush, you can do it for eye-shadow. There was no way anyone could tell the pigment status of the deeper shades from the first Quad, which doesn't exactly help out anyone interested in wasting all that money to purchase them. (Excuse my sarcasm, you know how I feel about this brand's love for money). It could be your lighting that is making the shadows appear much lighter than what you can see when applying? What's good for the blush, is good for the eye-shadows! I know you can do it, just practice. Seriously though, at the prices these sell for, we need to see what the quality is like as I continually hear how hit and miss TF can be. Not everyone, such as myself, has access to a store to test these, (not that I'm about to buy them), yet for anyone else in my position that lives a long distance from a retailer. If you can appear on a video looking like a clown with overdone blush, I know you can deepen these very expensive shadows to a point where they can be seen. There are many people who can't make it into a store for various reasons and this is where you are supposed to be swooping in to the rescue and save the day! It's just being fair for all products. I know how bias you are towards this brand, yet some really would like to see the quality of the product. The TF Quads that I eventually bought are all the wet/dry formula, so it would be fair for those who don't have these formulas you are showing to really see how they work. I'm off my soapbox now. I love the Tom Ford quads! I fell in love with the wet dry formula and thought that was the best UNTIL I recently tried the creme formula. They are sooo beautiful, pigmented, and effortless to apply, very very elegant! I do t know if the ones I have are the new new creme formula but I love them nonetheless. I have tiger eye and smoky quartz and they are stunning. I choked laughed when you said charlotte tilbury book of exaggerations😂 Her claims tickle me. One thing to note about her claims, they do not seem to impact her product sales. I haven’t tried any Kosas products but this is quite beautiful on you! I’m with you on the SPF in beauty products. I want to apply my own SPF. As always, you delivered a wonderful review!!!
Thank you so very much, Tracie! You haven’t tried Kosas, but did you know that, if you do, you are 250% more likely to be 153% more satisfied with the product. The only two Tom Ford new cream formula are the two I just reviewed and they’re like a combination of the cream formula you have and the wet dry. Honestly it’s quite lovely.

Looks great...but sadly will pass on the Kosas! No fragrance please! The TF Smoky is gorgeous..but too expensive for me as I would rather spend on face makeup or skincare as I don't use a lot of eye shadow and have enough given my usage!😂😂😂Ty Rebecca!

For Burberry, I absolutely love the shadows but they aren’t exciting enough. It would definitely be a tossup between the new Chanel coral palette or one of these from Tom Ford . I like the colors in the Chanel better and the formula in the Tom Ford . that would be a dream palette combining those two

You explained very well Rebecca, and if they come with lighter colours, i would purchase one!!! And if they would bring back the legendary Cocoa Mirage quad, and if it has exactly the same colours and the same feeling, i would buy 2!!! The Kosas BB tinted moisturizer, maybe, i'll look up the ingredients before it comes to Europe, maybe, looks great!!! I must say the only tinted moisturizer i really love, is my Sisley, i apply with my hands. I would love to see again you apply the foundation or tinted moisturizer with your hands!!! I haven't tried the Tom Ford creme formula. I have a wet/dry one. Thank you for the review. Do you think the included applicators work well with it or is it one that needs fingers/better brushes?
The included applicators are actually a sponge on one side, a nice one, shout out Mr. sponge, and a little brush on the other side. It’s not my preferred application but it absolutely would work for travel.
The only fragrance ingredient that I am seeing in the Kosas product is the French lavender (lavandula stoechas extract) and so I am wondering if there is some other fragrance that you are noting. The difference between this and Chanel et al is that this is a natural fragrance and that lavender is not known to be very irritating to skin (though some people still could react to it). The other interesting thing about this product is that it includes two sunscreen ingredients: zinc oxide as the second ingredient (after water), plus butyloctyl salicylate as the fourth ingredient. Butyloctyl salicylate is defined as a "sunscreen booster" in the U.S., but I have heard from numerous sources that it is basically the same in terms of sunscreen performance and chemical structure as octisalate and that it is not labeled as a regular sunscreen because the inventors just didn't apply for it. So I would guess that the Kosas product is providing a substantial amount of sun protection and that it is just not labeled as such because it is such a pain to get FDA approval for sunscreen products. It will be interesting to see if this one irritates your skin after a few months, as you say other sunscreens do. I personally react a bit to all suncreens (including physical ones and butyloctyl salicylate), but I am curious enough about this product (and all Kosas products) that I bought it anyway.
Lisa to the rescue! Yes, I saw the Lavender and I thought that too. That must be the scent? It’s very strange. I need you to smell it if you’re in a store that carries it. Also I saw the sunscreen ingredients but found it really interesting that they listed zinc as a skincare ingredient. Along with copper. So all of this is some tricky marketing and I’d like to get to the bottom of it. I’m usually not an ingredient person, as you know, but this one really intrigues me. And I knew you would be helpful.
Some other companies that claim that their tinted sunscreens are "mineral-based" but that nonetheless include butyloctyl salicylate: Ciele, Tower 28, W3LL People, Ilia. I do think that i react more to those products than to real purely-mineral sunscreens, but it is hard to know because the mineral ones are a little irritating for me too (I think because they physically scratch my skin). I'd be interested in knowing which mineral sunscreens or tinted sunscreens have turned out to be irritating for you.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I frequently rely on the Paula's Choice Beautypedia ingredient checker - you can just copy and paste an ingredient list into a field, and the website will tell you what each ingredient does and whether they deem it to be good for your skin. Phenethyl alcohol is also a fragrance, apparently. It's so annoying when brands claim that a product is "fragrance free," yet they add ingredients like phenethyl alcohol and essential oils to impart fragrance!

Odor Description: Rose note, very lasting/mild and warm rose honey." From Eco Store: "Phenethyl alcohol is an aromatic chemical, usually appearing as a clear oily liquid with a sweet rose scent. It can be synthesized for industry through the use of yeast strains or by reacting benzene and ethylene oxide with a catalyst. Phenethyl alcohol is naturally present in grapes and wines, and is also found in the essential oils of many plants such as ylang ylang, hyacinth and carnation. It is the dominant odour in fresh roses such as Rosa multiflora, however is mostly lost during essential oil production as it separates, with only a fraction remaining in rose oil. Phenethyl alcohol is used as a preservative ingredient in some soaps, and is also used in cosmetics, personal care products and food production for creating floral-rose fragrances and flavours. Other names: C8H10O, Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol, 2-Phenylethanol, (2-Hydroxyethyl)benzene, Benzyl Carbinol, Benzeneethanol, 2-Phenylethan-1-ol." I feel pretty sure now that one way or another, this product is going to irritate my skin, but I guess it's good that i bought it anyway so that i can talk about it. Gads.

Oh my goodness. First of all thank you we would love to have you. Secondly, I have heard from some people that it is best joined on a laptop. You don’t have to continue using the laptop but sometimes joining is done best from a laptop. There are two links.
