It’s so unfair to get breakouts after 40! I have a few chin breakouts too and I’m a few years older than you. Thanks for the check-ins... I have oily skin and could not wear the original formula - so I may give this a try once masking up isn’t necessary.
This was awesome! I have been loving this foundation the past couple of weeks, I think it’s great for the heat and humidity and my mask hasn’t worn it down at all which is so nice!!
Amazing review! Best I've seen of this foundation. I won't be picking this up. At 46, I just can't do matte foundations due to wrinkles and texture. The original formula is my holy grail and works wonderfully on my skin. I'll just stick to that one. I so appreciate all the work you put into giving us the most information. You are da BEST!!! Great review!! ❤️ If you haven’t tried pimple patches you need them!!!! Especially since you try so many products (my skin is so sensitive it would be a mess). Since constant mask wearing (I’m a nurse) I cannot live without them!! Flattens you’re pimple overnight. Called “Acne patch” purple and blue package on amazon for $11-12. Best ever!!!! I love your videos!!

Hey I wanted to recommend the Lumify eye drops, they whiten you’re eyes in 1 minute and keep them that way for 8 hours. I was just noticing your eyes were red. Mine get like that from being on the computer too long at work, allergies, and not getting enough sleep. I know you’re in front of computer screens all day, so just wanted to recommend. I think it's great that Too Faced has got it down with the purpose of each formula, the original is meant for normal dry skin which you have and it looks better on you as it should since that what it was formulated to do vs the matte formula for combo and oily skin, which I have and I cannot wear the original formula on my skin it just breaks down and slides off with my oils. Thank for for the amazing natural light check ins and close ups of your skin you truly show how the makeup wears!

I am so glad you reviewed a matte foundation, I've never liked them until recently when I tried the Catrice foundation and it just had this air brushed finish, I can agree that on my aging texture it settles in but the all over look is just gorgeous! It looked so beautiful on you and you are just gorgeous sans makeup 😘😘 I'm going to have to check this one out forsure 😍😍
Oh my. Trust me any foundation would look good over the Sisley primer. I just bought that primer. It is so overpriced but honestly whatever they put in that primer is awesome. Your makeup looked beautiful when you really hydrated your skin. Gorgeous!!!

I use to wear nothing but matte foundations on top of mattifying primers and moisturizers. Not so much anymore! I love the original Born this way and the concealer is my favvvv!!

I love foundation reviews. I use to love Estée Lauder double wear but got really tired of how much prep I had to do for my skin in the winter to wear this foundation. Thank you... I'm definitely more normal right now, drier between December and March. I have to use an Exfoliating product twice a week during those months because my face gets blotchy of dry patches if I don't🤪 Thank you so much for your sweet comment. ❤❤ I have worked sooooo hard getting my skin to look decent. I had hormonal acne and hyperpigmentation horribly and I was on Obagi Nuderm for 2 years and it shaped up my skin and gave me a nice glow. Now I just do maintenance to keep it 😁💋
Have you tried the new Laura Mercier Honey powder? I got a mini with my Sephora order and I'm obsessed! I've actually been reaching for it over my Charlotte Tilbury medium powder, it's just so smooth and blurring. I have a similar skin tone to you, I think you might like it too!

I just picked this up at the sephora sale. I applied it with a sponge with caudalie grape water to make it more moisturizing for my older skin. Fingers crossed 🤞

Absolutely. I prefer this WAY more than EL DW. This is not as thick. I think if you take the steps I did, you'll have great luck with it. Specially in the hot weather💋💋

I LOVED this review! I have always wanted to try a matte foundation, as I don't like a dewy finish. I feel like my face is sticky. I do have dry skin...( I know..I know...) and am in my 50's. I am going to jump in the deep end of the pool though and try it. I appreciate the tips on using a moisturizing spray to help apply it. I wonder if my Tacha stick would help in certain areas as well. The thought of having a foundation that one can wear a mask and have it hold/staying power is great. And Tara...41 and wrinkles? uh huh...Honestly, girl...you look like you are 28. wrinkles indeed...pahleese ;) ;)

I just bought it and received it in the mail yesterday. I applied it for the first time today😁 my camera took a crap on me so I had to ship it too get fixed. So, I'm trying to find a way to use my old camera and do check ins outside like I was able to with my other camera. But I'm putting it to the test now💋❤😁
Hey Tara, quick question did you set this foundation at all with any powder? I was just wondering. Also it may have been the mask breaking you out and not the tinted moisturizer. I say that because I work I a doctors office and I have to wear a mask 8 hours everyday and I normally do not breakout. I have gotten breakouts around my chin and on my jawline, and I think something in those mask is breaking my face out!!! I have had some of the other girls tell me the same thing. They tell you that your skin will get drier when you get older. Someone forgot to pass this memo to my skin. At 46, I am as oily as an oven can get and my foundations have to be truly matte. Lately, a lot of satin foundations are being released. Why brands insist they are matte is a mistery to me. I've seen several reviews of this and the new one from Nars. Suffice to say that oily was a thing for both by the of the day.
I will be discussing it as soon as my camera arrives. (Its broke and had to ship it to Canon, it's being repaired right now🤪) But, it's a GREAT primer. Every time I wear it, my foundation looks better and lasts longer. No denying it. But, I don't think it's worth $200. I plan to use it on special days when I want my makeup to look really great. But daily basis no way. It's great, and all you hear about it is accurate, but, it's just not worth that price tag. If it was $100, I may say it's worth it, even that is pushing it. But damn, that $200 stuff, ITS not worth it😘 I would rather spend the money towards botox 😘🤪
Thanks for all your videos. You are so beautiful! Do you put your vitamin enriched face base then your sunscreen then foundation? Which sunscreen do you use? I just feel like no matter what moisturizer no use my sunscreen Elta MD tinted changes things. I wish I could just use moisturizer and foundation without having to do sunscreen. Sunscreen is always my struggle! Plus I have older 48yr skin that's normal dry and sun damaged!

I wear the same shades as you and really splurging on this purchase and want to make sure I get the correct shade. I know you said that Tawny was a bit light, so just curious if you ever tried Sepia. Hey girl🙋♀️ In my July Favorites video, skip to 17:30 in the video and i discuss the foundation and the shades that I bought (I bought both Tawny and Sepia 🤪) and Tawny is perfect match to Pat McGrath 15M, and Sepia is just a little darker. So, for summer I day Sepia, but moving into winter if you decided to buy Tawny I think you'll be fine. But, I swatch them so you can see the shades. Hope that helps❤❤❤

If cost wasn't an issue, I would say the Tom Ford Stick Foundation, and the Dior Airflash 🤪🤪 But, i recently created a video going through my fav foundations (I'll be updating that soon). This is an AMAZING foundation. But tricky to wear on dry maturing skin. If you don't want the hassle, i would skip it. If you can and want to take the steps I went through in my final thoughts then I think it will work. But it's definitely not one you can just throw on and have it work. It needs some tweaking and only applying a thin layer of it. 🦋😁 I'm glad this review was helpful, if you have any questions let me know💋💋💋
