In this new mini series, we dedicate a Tuesday to look at our latest addition to the DIY Tuners Tool Box.
This Tuesday it's a look at our new R-Tech MIG 180 welder. A great addition to our R-Tech TIG 170. This now gives us complete flexibility to weld and fabricate anything we need to on our projects.

I recently purchased this welder and it’s runs like a dream, good quality and great customer service from R tech. Finding a company these days that has a great product and good customer service is very rare.

Your not wrong about R-tech customer services. I knocked my bottle over and knackered my regulator.. got in touch with them and told them what happened thinking I’d just buy another but they sent me a new one out next day no questions asked!

I use gas direct to for gas. Really low cost for a refill :) Thank for the vid. I'm looking.at this model to compliment.the R Tech AC/DC Tig I have. Thanks and subbed.

Personally I wouldn't waste your time with flux core. Just run a gas bottle you will have much better results and if its your first time welding will be chasing less issues than trying to weld with flux core 👍

what gas were you using on your 180 mig welder 75/25 or 90 /10 or 95/5 thanks.

How come you didn't purchase the 16a blue plug and buy the connector for 16amp - 13amp 3pin. Best of both worlds then

We don't really weld anything massive with it so didn't bother with the 16amp plug for now. Mainly sheet metal work and some frames that will be handled with the 160amp capacity of the machine on the 13amp . Also the CBs at the garage tend to trip with a decent load on them
