Do you travel 48 states or regional. Cost alot to ow n truck. & keep up expenses but got paid off !!@?? They are paying alot for drivers & freight company rates go up !!!
Great video guys on what happens when you don’t do proper maintenance on a tractor. There’s no way around it, do it right or pay for parts that wear prematurely. Martin if I was to ever buy a truck I would spend some time talking with you. Plus after I bought it keep talking to you in my first few months. It would be worth paying you for your time. I liked how Alice ended the video… She always looks so innocent.. Well in no time the new truck will be out there doing it’s maiden voyage for you guys. Love how things are going for you guys. You guys are doing the work and your reaping in the results of that work you have done. Looks good on you guys. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails and happy motoring..
Good morning Martin and Alice. I'm glad you made it home Alice. I live in Arkansas about 40 minutes away from Ft Smith. I have to say I was shocked at how much was wrong with that truck when you got it home. I'm glad you made it home safe 18 hundred miles. plus you had to take it back twice and now that your home you have to take it in again. Peterbilt owes you way more than an apology. That's just wrong on their part. It's a beautiful truck and I can't wait to see all of the upgrades. And the sharpie thing that's badass. Best of luck with your new truck. And Martin your kickass mechanic.
Martin it’s a damn pity what these shops charge and not do things correctly. Drives me freaking crazy. Once you find one you can trust to do it right, you stick with it. They’re kind of few and far between these days.👍👍👍
I'm glad you made it home safely, Alice. Martin is a wonderful mechanic, and it is great how he got busy on the new truck . The two of you got busy fixing things and getting it in great shape. Blessing to you. Hope you get to enjoy many years with this truck.
Every truck new and used needs a good shakedown before being put into service. When I buy a new truck I’m happy that it’s the puller. Also a long bobtail ride home and you will have a good idea on what a used truck needs to be safe and dependable.
Congrats on the beautiful Red truck you guys videos are so nice I lost my sister last Thursday evening and watching your videos and way has helped comfort me some by briefly giving me some distraction from everything. Don't ever stop I also learn so many things about the trucking industry I would have never known since I'm not a trucker myself so thanks so much!
A nice looking unit. Trouble when you buy used. You get someone else problems. But then again I have never driven a new truck either. The trick with the silver marker reminds me of my days at the local car dealership before trucking. New tires on the truck is must.....no recaps. Always get an alignment when you get new rubber. Saves you in the end. Also love the "Moose Grill". Be safe out there.
Several of the Brand New Trks has SERIOUS PROBLEMS as well!!!!! For what they cost it isn't WORTH BUYING NEW anymore with all the issues of NEW TRKS!!! WARRANTY doesn't mean NOTHING anymore & doesn't cover everything ANYMORE!!!
@@scottycollins1829 I know you are right about that. Local dump truck owner that I know has had more trouble with the seven new Pete's that he has brought over the past four years than the rest of the fleet of nineteen other Pete's that he has bought over the past dozen years.
You guys are the best. Martin , you kick ass. So because of you guys I look up Bob Moses in Austin Tx and their only 30 miles away. Got my pickup ceramic coated and 3 days later I got mamas car done also. Yes I told them about you two guys. $1700 apiece. Looks really good. Thanks. My 2008 truck looks dang near new!!
My late father, a truck driving man all his life just like me, always said that oil is cheaper than bearings. Same goes for grease. Loving your content still Alice & Martin. Kindest regards from Ireland.
You did a great job bringing home the new truck Alice! Oh well, some things can't be uncovered all at once, but great job on getting the major items fixed before leaving Fort Smith. A lot of work that goes on to prep a truck for the road that many often take for granted, but you both work great together as a team! Keep up the great videos and I truly enjoy them even though I've hung up my driving gloves.
Definitely correct grease and oil properly done on a regular basis goes a long way to making a truck last. I’ve had shops tell me that same bs about you’ve just got to drive that tire a while and it’ll get round again. Once it’s worn irregularly it will keep wearing that way. Looks like you’re getting it straightened out tho. Best of luck with it. I’ve had an AMT and it wasn’t all everyone said it was for me. Got worse fuel economy and needed much repairs sure liked eating actuators and x y shifters. But I know some folks have better luck with them. I’ll keep shifting myself.
Maybe Martin should open his own shop for $200 per hour. I’m impressed every time. BTW, good choice with T-6 , ran that for 8yrs in my diesel and when doing valve cover gasket is was amazing to see how clean internals were.
Man hope it turns out well and Martin is spot on with the greasing, when I did the kingpins in my truck the mechanic told me the same thing, good luck, great video
That tire bill reminded me of our tire bill for our Renegade motorhome years ago in Paso Robles, Ca. It was on a Freightliner Columbia chassis so it used the 22.5" tires. OUCH.
I see you have some pretty help now, does spend money well though. You are an amazing mechanic/trucker. Love your content. Be safe out there you guys…..😊
Like I've said before, Martin is da man......da man that knows his 💩 👍🏻👍🏻....oh, and I didn't know they make silver sharpies.... who knew.....good job, Alice 👍🏻👍🏻
Martin is a fantastic person i have a small fleet also and i know your guys headaches we run run produce to the midwest and meat back to the coast its hard to keep 5 trucks running but we get it done hope to see you out there RD Bruner and sons wish you all the luck in the world you folks deserve it GOD bless.
Hi Alice and Martin it’s disappointing that the new truck hasn’t been fixed properly but you’s two will get it sorted with the right places you deal with in your home state so thoughts are with you both so wishing you a safe trip out alice even though your stressed cheers from tim in queensland australia ( keep on trucking ) with 4 beautiful trucks
I had my kingpins done 6 months ago on my Cascadia and last week the front end started popping and tore the hell out of one of my steers. Same thing truck wouldn’t drive straight. It would dart all over the road. I look like a DUI in the making. it’s in the shop as we speak with other issues as well. Rear structure is cracked and I’m replacing all tires.
Hi guys you save some money with your Sharpie work Alice. I wouldn't have thought of that idea great thinking Alice. With a bit of luck everything working on the new truck. Safe trucking take care cause we care
This show is worth the watch in ideas alone i wonder in case I’ve missed it does Mr Martin have an opinion on the different Cummins engines?and Wich one you prefer to work on??
Boy Howdy! it seems like every advance for AM Jez Trucking comes with even more work for Martin. As I mentioned in another comment, I worry about him and his heart. If he is going to be around when y'all start rivaling JB Hunt, get him some help with the maintenance. Grandpa Fumblefingers Mescal, AZ.
Oil and grease is cheap use it liberally, I used to haul dirt local around city so lots of braking and off road onsite and would grease and adjust brakes weekly
Martin and Alice what a team much Blessing with the new Truck when you are a professional in what you do you expect other to be the same but they are not some of it is knowledge and some of it is they will not ask question if their a problem to resolve it not like old school they would not let the truck leave the shop until it fix properly and Martin you correct King pin if grease properly they last almost almost for the life of the Truck and Alice don’t stress you making that truck your own and I have faith in you in Martin you knowledge is endless that what people need today is mentor 👍
Nice rig. I like the trim on the gauges but I don’t think my hands are a steady as yours. No trims for me unless I buy them. Looks really nice though!!
Thanks for the all the advice you both gave, it makes great sense in what was the issue. I do believe some mechanics only knows what's in a manual and don't have real live experience, thus the reason for the fail
Awesome video once again. !! Y’all are the he best!! Martin that’s right get your hands on her . Makes me wanna get another truck!! Keep on keeping on!! Alice awesome truck with sharpie.. love it 🎉
Did the same thing with the beer can lugnut covers. Ran them one week and they did not grow on me so took them off and chalked it up to another " looked good in the catalog " mistake.
Just a friendly word of advice. Those covers on the front wheels will actually destroy your wheels. The plastic little piece that goes between the cover and the rim will wear a groove in your wheel and you won't be able to ever get it out.
You guys have a good videos guys have come along way I was just wondering if you guys would give the RU-vid viewers first to see timer for sale. I watch you guys on the first time you guys started yes I’ve come a long Way, Martin and Alice, you’re awesome
