Been using 32 mm Continental Ultra Sport 3 tires on my hybrid bike for about two years now. Compared to the 40 mm Kenda tires that came with the bike, they are super fast. They are about 10% faster on average on my regular rides.
You wouldn't notice the difference between ultra sport 3s and something like gp5000s unless you had a power meter and a stopwatch. They're excellent tyres
. I put a pair of these on my bike build (700c road) and after a couple hundred miles, they're good. Not the fastest or slowest on daily commutes but for the price of the tyres ($25 per) vs length of use I hope to get out of them (about a year) I'm quite happy. Road conditions here in Colorado Springs are above average, but I try to stay out of cycle lanes as they're never swept & it's where the road rubbish usually ends up. Unlike in London, people are nice enough not to park in them. That being said, no flats yet (touch wood) and no visible gashes. Early days still, but I'm fairly confident I made a good choice all round. Disclaimer: I'm not a racer, nor am I a slow cruiser. Just a bloke who likes to get from point A to B comfortably in a reasonable time and without stopping to mend a puncture.
