New Updated Mini Gerber Centerdrive Multi-Tool! (HVAC Garage Mod) 

Nice Franken-tool. Very creative. I tried putting the scissors from a Leatherman Wingman into the knife section of a Skeletool. It was my first attempt at modding multi-tools. It failed. I didn't realize at the time that the scissors wouldn't be able to lock into place. Oh well, Skeletool is still okay, Wingman ended up cannibalized.

An ideal tool set. A mini Leatherman OHT style thing is EXACTLEY what Gerber should do in recompense for LM copying their one hand opening sprung pliers back in the day. If they get the scissors as good as Victorinox they will make an icon that will earn infinitely forever

Always love your mods. I'd like to see you add a pair of scissors to the Leatherman Rebar.....Maybe replace serrated blade with them.

I thought that the Ambar's orange plate is a separate piece. Isn't it? Have you tried to place scissors between black frame and orange plate?

You can get brass and aluminum tubing as well as small bushings at specialty hardware stores or sometimes hobby stores that might work for these mods

Nice project. I like the using of the aluminium sheet to fit the pivots, we all love to do MacGyver stuff. Grinding bigger holes in hardened steel if you have no machines for it is a pain in the ass. ;)

A good set of pliers will work in a pinch for the weird leatherman nuts and bolts. Screw extraction pliers work best, but knipex cobras are also pretty good. If you don't want to scratch up your multitool, slap some masking tape on before you go wrenching.

How hard/impractical would it be to just try to drill out the hole on the leatherman pliers to fit the gerber hardware?

Who do I need to push down a flight of stairs to get one??? I'll gladly push a dude on crutches down some stairs if that will help get me a custom build????

Why a socket, and not a replacement pivot pin with a standard hex/torx

why not just drill the holes out on the leathermna parts to make them accept the gerber axels rods?

Gerber is falling further and further behind by not making new or improved multi tools. Other then painting them black or adding a strap cutter since the Duel Force what new large medium or small multi tools have they added? The correct answer would be none. They could even go back to models that have been dropped and upgrading them. All of the Chinese models need at least D2 for their knife blades. The made in the USA at least a S30v blade. They are going to ruin their multi tool line up by sitting on their hands while everyone else is doing something new.
