Im guessing Tanjiro is like Akaza but more ruthless. Like people who gain his respect no matter what or who they are will forever have his respect but that doesn't mean he won't kill that person if needed (im talking about Zenitsu,Inosuke, Giyuu etc.) And Rengoku probably IS in that category.
