An NPC that gives you hint on how to evolve your Pokemon would be nice because otherwise, you have to look on internet (or spend 100 hours trying everything). It would be useful for strange évolutions methods like galarian yamask
I'm surprised you didn't implement any kind of quest giving NPC's. I remember an NPC in Village Bridge in BW that would ask you to catch a specific water type pokemon, show it to him and he would give out free Dive Balls. I could see NPC's like a mail man that ask's you to give people around the region certain pokemon and items. And another idea where you could have a police or detective character that asks you to battle criminals around the region. Especially since daily quests like those give incentive for players to keep playing so they could do daily quests like those.
For the rare candy maker, considering how TMS are made in scarlet and violet, maybe instead of making TMS from the dropped Pokemon Parts, this guy could make the rare candies from those parts. That might be cool.
I had an idea: if your game includes Ultra Wormholes, you can add a Mirror Lady. When you've caught every UB, a Wormhole appears and 5 times a day, she trades you version-exclusive Pokémon (Drampa for Turtonator b.e.).
hey, I think this one romhack called "Crystal Clear" has an NPC called something like the "Tradeback Guy". I remember hearing about it before this video existed.
Trainer class idea: Magnet fisher. a steel type trainer that looks awfully like the fisherman in order to trick the player. Maybe have a water type. If you aso give him a cart then a horse pokemon will work too
@@Substitube Off topic but do you think bug types should be weak to bug types since many species of bugs are predators preying on others of there kind.
@@TheSandwhichman108 hmmm… I’ll say no, simply because bug types have enough weaknesses as-is. Logically bugs should also be weak to poison (pesticides) and electric (bug zappers) as well, but to that extent it would be unusable. What it would appreciate is an offense boost, since it’s one of the most resisted types. Removing Fairy’s resistance to it would help
I like the idea of an NPC that makes certain legendaries appear in certain areas\caves once a day and if you catch them all gives you a special item like a second master ball
My idea of NPC guys. Taxi Drivers: these are people that take you around in cars Soldiers: when you see army people around, you know there is some serious stuff going on. Love Fans: these girls (or guys if you play the opposite gender) are hard core in loving strong pokemon trainers. They mostly want to marry you and help breed more strong pokemon trainers. Region Prime Minister: nothing says big pokemon battle like when the big wig of the land takes time off from running the region just to watch you fight. Pokemon Pooper Pet: This guy loves to clean thing involving pokemon droppings. He is also I'm charge of former evil team members sentence to community service (and you know what they are doing).
I honestly just want something like DexNav in every game. It removes *so* much of my need to go to outside sources when eventually dying a dex run of a new game.
I think the item exchanger is a good idea. Perhaps it could start as a small optional side quest to get an item they can trade you like if you give me a leaf stone I’ll give you a sun stone in exchange. And after that you unlock a small list of items you can choose to trade if you have the correct item to give in return. Perhaps having sub classes in the item exchanger like one that trades different poke balls like three ultra balls for three timer balls or one that trades powerful healing items for hard to find evolution stones.
Perhaps the trade evolver could have a list of pokemon you can choose from and depending on choice you trade him a magmar in exchange for an electabuzz which becomes an electavire upon being traded to you.
Another NPC would be called the auctioneer. The auctioneer would hoste pokemon auctions. You would donate items in exchange for the share of the payment.
Got another idea for a NPC. Pre Trainer Children. Like Max and Bonnie. You use your pokemon to play and teach these children. You even help them play with toy pokeballs (used to practice their throwing abilities). A certain type of Pokemon they play with will help in certain areas of development. At the end of the game you see what they will become when they grow up (kind of).
It’s pretty cool that the newer games have their own versions of some of these. Like the person who can teach egg moves is now obsolete thanks to the mirror herb and picnics in SV (or the daycare trick in SwSh).
I'm glad newer games are moving in that direction. I guess the egg move teacher is meant more for ROM hacks of older games, where it's easier to build around an existing mechanic (move tutoring) than it is to backport an entirely new one.
I would love the Set and Team Builder especially because I am not good at effectively creating teams like this. Another great video! Also, do you use Voice Programs? for the characters of this video and a mix of clips from shows etc. Like the IASIP? Or you have VA friends?
A NPC I would put in would be called a Curry Judge. A Curry Judge would give you items, in exchange that you cook up a pot of curry and it has to be good. The Curry Judge will have a Pokemon partner that would reflect his food preference.
