When you first see that helmet it kind of takes your breath for a second. I think that for everything we know about them, there must be so much we will never know. So many stories about people that were never recorded. But the remains, the ornate swords, the spears and axes, I get a sense that they lived life in this world in a way that we modern only dream about. Surely our movies and shows and documentaries can only catch a glimpse of that past.

The amount of time and work that went into creating these masterpieces is amazing and it just goes to show how talented our ancestors were. @@BjornAndreasBull-Hansen I have watched many of your videos and am glad to finally see the truth and respect the Vikings and their descendents deserve. My ancestors come from Norway back to the Vikings on both sides of the family but I live in America. On the side of my mother they made it from Norway to the Scottish Highlands in Scotland and we are descendents of the Scottish Clan Cameron. On my grandfather's side we were given surnames to protect us as we came from Norway yet are Swiss in our name. Please stay away from the Catholics.

I saw some tweets from the archaeologist who started reassembling the Gjermundbu helm at the beginning of last year, since in its previous display it was put together incorrectly and missing a few pieces that had been miscategorized as parts of a pot. It's an immersive experience surrounding 650 artifacts ranging from exotic jewels to three Viking warships, including the 37-metre Roskilde 6, the longest Viking warship ever found, featuring approximately 1,000 year-old wooden planks and metal supports showing the ship's original lines.
