Rich - I've used the Danica for appoximately 20 years or so. It has faithfully served me to this day. The vise jaws were replaced after a few years as they were losing their grip. I attribute this to my improper adjusting when changing hook sizes. I also purchased a jaw extension piece with the vise as I felt everything was a little too cramped for my liking, and I'm glad I did. One problem I had experienced was that the rotational tension in the main barrel kept coming loose when in use. I tie left handed and I think the torque direction when using the rotary feature undid the rotational tension setting. Taking the vise apart and examining this led me to conclude that tying left handed caused the threaded section in the barrel to loosen. I purchased a metric nut with a nylon lock washer insert in the nut, and this fixed it. I think I remember some clicking at the time. I like tohave the rotational tension so I can rotate the jaws say 30 degrees and it would stay in place, bùt still allow the rotational feature to be used. This may or may not be contributing to its' current performance, but may be something to be aware of. That's quite a vise you have recently received. I know a couple of tyers who have the 🎉same machine. Great for tying big classics. I enjoy watching your videos, keep up the good work.
