You can now run and swim fast with one handed items in this update!!! Also you can run with a trident! This is soo sick! I’m a throwing knife user so I’m stoked for some changes. I’m also for the harpoon gun too because I feel like it wouldn’t be a bad thing for people to have to change their game up a little! Sea ya on the seas!!!

Funny that war thunder and sea of thieves both use easy anticheat, but war thunder has very little cheaters, with some people with 1000s of hours haven’t seen one, while sot is the opposite

The reputation restriction for hourglass is just putting a small bandaid on an open flesh wound. So they can’t cue for hourglass, they’ll just camp hourglass spawn locations or specifically look for hourglass fights and teleport onto ships. It’ll stop some of the less committed cheaters for sure, but the greasy basement dwellers like SoT Goblin will continue to be an issue even beyond having a level restriction.

I don’t think the goal of this was to full stop the cheating, this will be an ongoing issue… however making it more difficult to cheat repeatedly is still a good update

@@waldo2600 its barrier to entry. you make a new account... what rep are you? 1. 1 in everything. to be a pirate legend you need 50 in 3 factions... to play hourglass you probably should have lvl 15 with emissary flags or whatever 'barrier to entry' they make... so you can't create a fresh account, cheat, get banned, then create a fresh account and hourglass again.

I'm an average pvp player, and lately I'm grinding the skelly curse, ya'll think I should try to play more hourglass this weekend, or I'll be cooked and every game will be against sweats? I'm 50 on SOTF

@piszartamas6230 keep playing. Even with cheaters, if they are beating you badly, just scuttle and move on to next. Allegiance takes forever so the more battles you do and streak you keep will help you.

The cheaters will just teleport to your ship from adventure mode when you burst out the water if you do hourglass, already seen 2 of them doing it

I literally ran into a cheater after the update. One guy vs 4 people and he was taking no damage. We shot him like 9 times without dying and he would one shot us...... Thanks Rare.

the level cap is kinda dumb its just gonna bring hackers to free roam where new players dont realise that you need to record them hacking. least in a hour glass i can just record before the start.

Games like dying light understand anti-cheating game design, rather than having a strong anti-cheat, in be the zombie PVP mode. Cheaters are incredibly common, nearly ever other game now, with cheats that make them not take any damage or expend resources, but high skill options allow good zombies, like me to setup “pounce” insta-kills, which can’t be cheated away from, if you line up a spit smash, followed by the UV spit, which blocks the aforementioned resource from being used (uv lights) so that you can setup a true insta kill.

@@BeerusPlaysSoT First of all it’s become boring for me. I played in SOT more than 3000+ hours and I don’t enjoy it anymore. And second is a problem with cheaters…these “gods” can fly or spawn anywhere, actually they can even spawn unlimited amount of kegs on your ship and just blow you up. So yes, it’s definitely the end for me with this game.

Maybe right now these types of cheats aren’t working, but flying dudes in the sky, invisible mode, and spawning kegs on my ship - all of that happened to me. When I started playing this game in 2021, I never saw anything like this. It’s weird that after RARE finally added anti-cheat, the number of cheaters just keeps increasing. I loved this game, but now it’s over for me. There is no fun for me, just stress.
