Be prepared. I went to bed before Hurricane Michael thinking it would weaken overnight and be downgraded, only to wake up realizing it became a category 4 storm. In the end it was a Cat 5 , and destroyed about 60% of the housing in my area. I was in a house the roof ripped right off of early and we had to endure. It was a nightmare.
I survived the same thing in 1992 during Hurricane Andrew in my Cutler Ridge neighborhood south of downtown Miami.....4 hours of hugging a toilet with my dog underneath me, and he shaking like a leaf !!! We only had the eye for about 10 minutes
I was in Michael as well. We were extremely lucky and had minimal damage but it was by far the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced. As the trees were falling all around the house I thought we were goners. I hope you are doing well now, much love and peace from a mutual member of the Cat 5 club ❤❤
i remember when no one paid attention to tropical depressions. first time recieving "warnings" for an unnamed storm (my employer sent this whole statement friday). its a noticable change in approach. wonder if its bc so many non-native Floridians are here now. hopefully the stress motivates them
actually this has been driven by the insurance companies, so that people get motivated to secure their homes, instead of "oh it's not that bad" attitude.....it's actually not a bad thing
it's possibly going to be devastating rain.....wind not so much as heavy tropical downpours....2 to 3 inches per hour type stuff....and along the coast you might get a tropical tornado (which are usually weak EF 0 or EF 1 strength) but if you're inland the risk of a tornado & high winds goes dramatically down, but that rain will be heavy, heavy, heavy.....so think about safety from flooding before winds....
When asked about his plans for Florida after the flooding, DeSantis said that he would keep watching the sunsets, and wait for the Blue State handouts.
Don't mislead people about tropical storms and a hurricane, I have been through some tropical storms that have been way worst than a hurricane. Just be prepared, and know your evacaution and flood zones. Just know that weather can change in a blink of eye. Always be prepared, plan for the the worse and pray for the best..
Stop being hysterical, I can promise you I have been through more actual hurricanes than you. Unless your property is directly on a coastline most are just annoying with power outages and downed trees. This constant need to blow things out of proportion so everyone can feel like they are a persecuted victim is the most demented aspect of our mentally ill culture now.
@@FreeDom-k2k latest flood alert looks like it goes around kings bays but covers Inverness and most of Crystal River. I'm right on the border. Still no worries I have a man made pond and it's at a low level for now.
@@Christopher-xd5in I have never flooded in Inverness. And you don't seem to understand what I mean by flooding when the tide comes in and floods Crystal River, like it has done many times.
@@FreeDom-k2k I just pointed out the latest flood alerts and that I'm just outside that. Are you from Florida? I'm from Clearwater. Then too many transplants took over. Last four years I have had no problems here. That's all.
Should be called "The Bad Weather Channel" since that's all they cover. Or maybe "The Southeast Weather Channel" for obvious reasons. There are 48 states in the Continental US and they cover maybe 1/2 of them. "If it ain't Rainy and Windy, it ain't weather" must be their moto. The Western half of America is on fire and TWC can't give it the time of day. 👎
