New Windows 11 24H2 Update in the Main Release - New Improvements (Build 26100.1000) 

Considering that the legacy Control Panel it's still there many years after the introduction of the modern settings back in Windows 8 (or 8.1), unfortunately Microsoft is known for its inconsistencies.

What's broken or wrong about the taskbar?

​@@VVaypoint lack of customization options like moving it to sides or top, resizing it to smaller or larger size, customization of WinX menu, ungrouping system tray icons. You know, very simple and obvious things which most of them existed since Windows 95.

@@adamkamienski7322 I guess that's entirely fair, but personally I have no interest in these options.

First, you need to switch channel from "Beta" to "Release Preview" one (you could be asked to restart your computer, so do it). Second, you must enable the toggle "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" in Windows Update main page. After making these changes, checking for updates should immediately find and start to download Windows 11 24H2. If that doesn't happen, try again in a few hours, or update manually using the Windows Insider release preview ISO (build 26100.863). Anyway, it's very strange that they first released 24H2 to the RP channel instead of the Beta one. With Microsoft, anything is possible!

Yes, it's deprecated starting with version 24H2, alongside Cortana, Tips and WordPad.
