I have a 124019, the motor/esc get crazy hot and the motor died when I put some big tires on it completely stock. Luckily I had already ordered parts to do a brushless conversion. The 124017 is the better buy IMO even with the cogging issue, the more standard electronics setup is worth the extra cost.
Yeah as I said in the video , as far as value for money, for the extra $25 more might as well get this brushless model over the brushed. Thanks for watching Michael
LOL that was a hard hit hey 😂 i was surprised there wasn't more damage tbh, i think a King hit like that would break any RC. Cheers for watching brother its all fixed as soon as i got home after filming and drives as normal ready for the next video 👍🍻
I blame the pole! I saw it , it jumped in your way!😂😜🤩💥💥 Looks like a no brainer to me! It’s a pretty decent deal! Have a great rest of your weekend Dave!
Thanks for watching Robby, the minor damage was a simple fix, its ready to go again, its a great buggy, definitely worth the extra $25bucks more than the brushed model
Yeah man 40mph is brilliant on 2s🤘 I have a funny feeling it may have a heap of air control, it is fast😅 I think a better esc will eliminate the cogging, lower gearing could help aswell👍
What might make a good video is the new 3 wire reciver on this model given it seems to bind with the standard remote. Alot of people when converting these Wltoys models to brushless hit a road block when they realise in addition to the brushless system they need a new radio and reciver combo + servo when doing so and if they don't already own a radio with a few recivers it can be the most expensive part of the conversation if it's their first RC vechile. The older Wltoys models used the V2X2 protocol and could purchase a regular 3 wire reciver for them (used in the 1/8 scale a929) which could be used with 90% of Wltoys remotes. Although since the 144001/ XK products they use a different/new protocol which will not work with the old 3 wire Wltoys reciver. It would be interesting to see what remotes will bind with that reciver specifically if you can take a 144001 or 124019 remote and bind it with the receiver It may mean that people converting these Wltoys models will no longer have to buy a new radio but just the new Wltoys reciver.
@@PERTHWESTOZRC where I live there is no asphalt, I need a strong and fast car, I'm between the destroyer and the wltoys 104009, Which one is the best?
Boa noite Dave. Acabei de compra esse modelo 124017 e qual é esse problema de engrenagem que alguns inscritos comentaram. Ou já foi corrigido nos atuais.
Hi Hugo, the slight problem is cogging of the gears because the pinion gear on the motor they used was too large, they revised and fixed this issue in the new Version2 model. Watch my Wltoys 124016 V2 review where I compare the new version 2 model against the version 1 and you will see the big difference between the older and new release model. Thanks for watching brother👍
No i havent had a problem with leaking shocks so far on the smaller scaled Wltoys like these 12th scale ones or the 144001, I did have the 2 front shocks recently leak on my 104001 though
Hi Dave in my 124019 im running a 3660 2600kv with a 60amp ESC and way bigger tyres and wheels with no cogging at all As always Dave your video's are fantastic cheers buddy 👌👍👌
