I just came back after not really playing since the launch Hay Day. My opinion is the new content and areas are cool. The bugs that are left over in the game like my character randomly getting stuck and can't move, artifacts staying on the screen after joining an invasion, quest npcs being unreachable..... These are fundamental problems that don't seem to be a high priority to fix and really reflect badly on the game.
I recently started the game with a group of friends and we have been vibing and enjoying it a lot, playing everyday doing everything and i feel like the community in this game is so chill and nice too(so many times ive walked on to windsward and people be playing music and just talking to strangers, gave me that old school mmo vibe) all of these "issues" are kind of non exiatent to me, people are over emphaziging in comparing New World to other games when all you got to do to enjoy a game is play it. Lastly it doesn't really have to be a giga server for me the fact that the servers are small makes the experience easier to digest. Just my overall opinion, really love this game so far
@@Humunusnus dude let him enjoy the game, ive been playing since launch and i still play it, let me fill you in on a secret, some people may like a game you dont like, crazy right?
great game, horrible team. Would have been one of the best MMOs of the year and would be a a success even today, but the devs killed it, horrible decision making, late updates, combat was most defo made for PVP and horrible for PVE, combat needs a rework... put the game in the right hands and it would be amazing
@@radagonsoreseal3457 ahh thanks for ur replies and bboyg, I know it's a pvp focused game when it was initially designed, but they switched and decided to focus on pve more as they attracted the MMO community who generally asked for pve content. So a pvp designed game focusing on pve really doesn't work
@@claybrown5283 have you played ESO they have one main map called cyrodiil and added battlegrounds about 3 years ago. Cyrodill been then only map for about 8 years, battleground is quick match with 5-8 different maps depending on the match type. It's possible my guy.
Well, I have to say they have lost my trust. I was on their side, and honestly, most gamers were right. I feel this team is not cutting it, and we need a whole new team that can bring it back to life.
It's not that they haven't been making content it's that everything they let out is a smoking pile or garbage plane down they need a new team scrap, the old 1
Concurrent players do matter when that number falls below a certain number, invasions fail, OPR's take forever, dungeon finder becomes useless, wars are going on with less than 50 even 40 players. It's a mess right now. Then even the MAU's or monthly hour numbers are the lowest they've been. Do we expect gamers to give New World, a 4th chance? Whatever boss is above the entire NW should be furious.
Love this game so much, put 1.4k hours into it. Such a shame that the Devs just constantly have to remind you how much they disregard or maybe even hate their player base... over .. and over again...
@@OlegC3D I’m with you, I go back just because of the time I’ve put in. It’s honestly such a good visually I wish they’d just update this thing. They had so many chances lol maybe when it comes to console players will rise and they’ll get their shit together. That’s just my wishful thinking lol
Hmm you didn't mention the entitled player base as well! Gamers seem to have this mindset that they own the companies and the games meaning they think the devs has to do everything the customers tells them! When it's the developers creation not ours!
they need to fix the game's major bugs in OPR. as a bow player i keep getting the bug that makes you float in mid air. why would i put time / effort into a game whenever i play it im bugged out and waste 30-40 mins of my life because either the game boots me out of OPR for being "idle/inactive", or im unable to help my team for extended periods of time while i wait around to be killed by an enemy so i can respawn. it's ridiculous. i have over 4k hours in the game and still run into these bugs constantly. not to mention the obvious cheaters that run around spamming attacks faster than normal either through hacks or exploits. console wont change anything if the game is a buggy mess with no endgame for non-pvp players. they have no "gear chase" endgame and our "pvp endgame" is full of bugs and cheaters. it's sad to see this happen to such a good game. it's 1,000% the fault of this garbage game engine spaghetti code mess. never seen a game where you fix a new bug and it brings up 5+ old bugs that were previously "patched/fixed". either they are completely incompetent to work on this engine, or someone is sabotaging them from the inside, no other 3rd choice makes any sense. there's no way they can be this terrible by incompetence alone.
"Your going to remember everything you liked and everything you didn't like about it'. Probably because there is no content in the game and the expansion took 4 hours AT MOST to complete! Nothing has changed much if at all other then broken quest lines and PVP changes because they cater to PVP over PVE content...
Would it be wise to get back into the game now? I stopped playing a few months before the DLC came out and always thought of coming back but never had time. Recently I've been wanting to play the game but without the expansion with me hearing not so great thing about it, i don't know whether to get back into it or not
Didn't play for more than a year and bought the dlc tje day it came back, thinking i'd play but didn't. Deleted a character and created a new one to play on a server with more people and see the changes and remember hiw to play the game and maybe join a guild if i decide ti stay this time. By October i'll see
Played the beta on pc back before launch and I actually had a good experience but never bought it. Kinda wish I had known of the console beta but I had no idea it was coming to consoles, will probably pick it up on my ps5
Honestly as a long time MMO player, I'd much rather have a large online ARPG style game, or MSO as you called it...i think old school MMO players are delusional thinking that the early 2000s style WoW experience is ever gonna be that way again. Time and time again it's been shown that the model just doesnt work sustainably. WoW and FFXiv are the exceptions, not the rule. Im 40 now, not 16, i dont have time to commit to a raid schedule and guild obligations just to enjoy a game where i happen to see other people online at the same time as me. Being beholden to 10 or 20 other people to be able to accomplish anything in game means I'll just never play that game. I dont have a lot of time, but guess what i do have? A lot more money than i did at 16. Which means yeah, I'll spend money in the cash shop if it means i can play the game for 2-6 hours per week and still have fun and work towards some achievable goal on my own terms. I think this idea of developing a single player solo experience in a shared multiplayer world where i can occasionally opt in to some group content when time allows, is far superior of a concept, because there's honestly no reason why both can't be available in the same game.
Looks like the Team is trying to Rez their game the same way FF12 did, but Final Fantasy worked hard and brought new content at an insane pace. The Dev's at new world are just pretending they are adding a lot of new stuff by adding some minor changing and saying it's a new system which is a slap in the face to the existing player base.
Here's hoping New World was just the testing bed for their Lord of Rings MMO. Here's hoping Amazon Games learned from New World and will publish a great LOTR mmo
to be fair, i would of played the beta on console... i did not know it was going on until now :D - i also plan on buying it for console even tho i have it on PC and do not play it at all...
Now that I am finishing up Elden Ring DLC I am starting to return to New World. Game is near dead but I can still get an OPR game going with some old faces. I am still having fun with New World.
The open beta on Xbox was a blast. If you put thousands and hundreds of hours in you got your monies worth. It doesn’t owe you anything. Move on. That simple. Almost all games come out buggy now and unfinished. I played 10 hours of the beta and no glitches or bugs. I don’t care if they are luring me in. I had a blast and if I get 100 hours in I got my monies worth.
I'm still playing it on Eldorado, but I enjoy gathering and crafting and selling on the trader. I play solo, like I did with Skyrim. Dungeons are boring and OPR is boring. So if you don't like gathering, crafting and selling on the trader then I totally feel your pain. I'm enjoying having all the nodes to myself. Also there is no other game I can find with New World graphics that is not more broken. Pax Dei needs to get more polished before I'm going to play it. Thrones and liberty graphics are not as good as New world and the combat and controls are not as polished as New World. I'm bored of ElderScrolls and WoW. Been there done that before New World existed.
I played New World back in Alpha and in the Betas and ultimately dropped it cause none of my friends picked it up. I always felt bad about never going back to it and it's a shame the team behind the game seems to have dropped the ball so hard.
I just wanted to say I quite agree with you on game should be included with gamepass and or psplus. I bought the game for ps5 myself but I understand a lot of people look at the poor reputation of this game and are unwilling to pay to join in. if this game is included in subs they already pay for Amazon might just be able to change their reputation for the better because the average gamer will think to themselves something like "well it does not cost extra so why not just do a quick download and see if i like it" and lets be real good reputation is far more precious than a very small amount of players buying the game. just my two cents. PS love your videos
yes, i love the idea of the new lotr mmo but given the reputation of this dev team i'm on the fence - i'm sure many the same, fix your rep to make your next game perform well, this ones a flop
So the Angry earth expansion includes Aeternum? Also, does your character get wiped. They don't make things very clear. Also, if they don't have mmo I'm not playing
I don't want to play anything this team Will touch ever again... Ill propably pass the october update, played closed Console beta and wasnt really expreseed, i think i will keep an eye on the game
I think they realized that they can't meet the expectations of mmo players that come from other games with a World of Warcraft or Elderscrolls online mmo expectation. They probably invested more of their profits on the new Lord of the rings game and New world became a side project.
selling it as an action rpg just makes more sense, especially considering the new market on consoles. mmos are fairly niche in the games market, and almost non existent on console. strictly speaking calling it an action rpg is entirely accurate, as much of the gameplay fits more into that genre than most of the popular mmos most people unfamiliar would have heard of. imagine describing new world as an mmo to your friend who tried world of warcraft once, and hated the tab targeting traditional mmo gameplay. they are almost certainly going to make that connection with tab targeting, or any other mmo stereotype, and pass on the game. meanwhile you say arpg to a console gamer and it is instantly more relatable and relevant to them. its just a matter of marketing more effectively. this is not a dismissal to the other issues present, just one small aspect i felt was under undue scrutiny. edited to say he makes this same point around 15m mark
This game would have been fantastic if they had kept stagger on hit, and made it more focused on Player Driven economy and PvP. Instead they shat themselves and decided to go the Theme Park MMO and get smashed by 20 years old WOW.
So it's dead because it only had 5,000 plus players in 30 days? You do know that's not dead right? And also there's alot of fucking games meaning most people doesn't just play one game non stop! Plus they all have their lives to live etc! Plus look at what's going in the world right now!
@@6Alucard6Tepes6 well I'm not just looking at 30 days...it's been on a rapid decline since the game came out...they lose 62% of it's player base after the first month.
@@Scorp_io okay and that's like that for pretty much all games buddy! Look palwords sure they sold a shit load of copies however not everyone is still playing the damn game! Once people have done pretty much all you can do until new shit arrives they stop playing for awhile then if new shit comes they hop back in! Again people have lives to live and other games to play we can't base games on how many people play all tge damn time! It should always be based on revenue are they making enough to support the game!
New subscriber here. I play on console and am looking to buy day 1. I have been itching for a game to get lost in that has this type of combat. I like the vibes and gameplay
Of course they move from the "PC MMO community". This community is full of never happy people with unrealistic expectations. I'm glad they go this new route.
Games like this don't live long time. People prefer classic and easy conception, like in GW2, Wow or FF14. That's why there are still lot of people playing those games. New Gen Mmo are just impressive 2-3 days 'cause of graphics, new gameplay stuff etc but that's all.
Just sounds like you're making excuses for the bad decisions AGS have done. They release the game in an unfinished state, fk up their content releases, mess up communication with their player base, they apologize and still fk up. This rebrand into an action rpg is terrible. It doesn't wipe the slate clean, like the dude said, it shows that AGS doesn't know what game they have. I've been eager to play New World when it first launched, but with huge change in direction of the game. It's a big turn off.
It will be honest, the guy that was talking towards the beginning. He has no idea what he's talking about, how are those numbers gonna be?I could let's wait for the open beta and see what happens
Man I’m so pumped that New World is coming to PS5. I had to quit shortly after launch for a New World due to not having a system. I think the console move will bring some new life into the game and couldn’t be happier!
I think it will too, but it's also about what happens after the game releases, if they pull another year of no content, then I'll be pissed, however, I don't believe that is the case.
bought this when it was on sale for like $10, played for maybe 11-12 hrs and haven't touched since. As greedy as other companies are, AGS is def up there requiring you to buy the expansion to use a horse and that just put me off the game in general
The game was fun in the early months.. they screwed up. They even had the chance to change their business model, go f2p or whatever.. they just wouldn't make a good decision.. such a shame
With the change of lable to ARPG, i wouldn't be surprised if they had seasonal restarts like Diablo. I'd be down for that. Complete map wipe, they could get a lot more out of their early game changes, increased player return at the season start. I dunno, anything to pump any life back in here
Im not too worried new worlds mmo has a similar vibe to eso pvp and trusr me eso is really the only mmo on console. New world will definitely get a influx of pvpers from eso.
Why, for the love of God, do we have to explain to an A M A Z O N subsidiary like AGS how to treat their customers? "How did we come to this?" The game is good, but how many self-inflicted wounds can it endure?
18:29 : well when we see what they do with '' feed back '' im afraid they didnt learn a lot threw the past years. When people give To AGS PTR after PTR after PTR again and again ALL THE BUGS / the game breaking '"' features '' they are vastly ignored somtimes deleted post ( i can understand why ) and dealt with on a 6 month or more life spawn ! making people quit the game ! The big W of the game is PVP and if there are game breaking bug its not so fun to play it no more
@andersaroden7731 yeah, game used to reward mechanical skill, now it's dumbed down so that console players can get an even foot.. don't even get me started on the fking aim lock
Love the game, but gah dang...hate AGS. Remove Scott Lane, and replace him with someone with more experience please. If someone is pulling his strings, replace them also.
They don’t lie, but people don’t understand the numbers and thus come to wrong conclusions and then use those conclusions to justify them. Its a visious and predictable cycle
There's plenty of PVE content. They've actually released a good steady pace of PVE content even during the drought of game updates. The problem is not lacking PVE content, its that the game's combat doesn't appeal to a casual tab-target combat audience and the game never should have gone that direction. Action combat in New World appeals to a competitive pvp player base predominantly. And the game should have stayed in its lane developing in that direction towards organized pvp oriented guilds. Also, the gear progression system has always been an abomination in New World's pve. There is very little purpose in running their dungeons due to their gacha loot pool rng system. This needs to be completely overhauled first and foremost to give purpose to grinding the pve content. The mutated dungeons were done wrong. Instead of being more challenging but remaining fun, they introduced highly tedious nonsense mechanics that aren't enjoyable to interact with. The higher difficulty dungeons still need to be fun for replay value. Making it so a green blob chases you non-stop throughout the dungeon and won't let you play, because when it catches you will root you and DoT you to death quickly isn't a fun mechanic, it's a frustrating element that isn't interesting and doesn't add value. Empyrean Forge is an awesome PVE expedition, and a tiny fragment of the game's population has even bothered to run it once. The game released the RoTAE dungeon. No one cared to run it because the drops were bad. The newer Ice dungeon was valued and popular because it had good drops players wanted to chase. This is a perfect example of how to do game design and how not to. The problem wasn't the PVE content is lacking, its that the rewards for doing the Worm Raid for example were hot garbage so no one bothered even though it was fun content.
Ultima Online (1997) has about 10x more players than New World - with a subscription fee. Fallout 76 ("worst launch ever") has about 1000x players. Says enough. I loved NW but they seriously screwed up, mainly by not sticking to their vision. They went from a very focussed vision to "pleasing the broad audience", which made it basically crap at all aspects.
The game may not ever grow on PC again due to mistreatment by the development, but it will most certainly be big on console simply because there are no goof game like this on console except ESO. PC players have plenty of alternative but we do not. Also the selling point for me is having mouse and keyboard support for console. However if they don't up the content after the console release I don't see it surviving after majority of the console players start maxing like the PC players have
I Finaly managed to buy a new pc and i was like gonna test it out with new world cause after they did graphic update they fucked alot of players from solid high graphcs n 120fps to lowest with max 20 fps, now i have pc to play it but went to steamdb and now seen this video i dont see why coming back to a game that is in decline and with a dev team so incompetent.
This was one of the few MMOs are ever cared about and I stopped playing once I reached level cap and realized that all the crafting I've worked was worthless because end game is just farming PVP and Dungeon Queues. All that build up of gathering materials was pointless when I could get everything through the season pass.
Stoped playing after 1790h of playing just right before DLC where you need to buy it if you think your character continue lvling, why i stoped, its becouse devs promise that game will be buy once and play forever, i supported them before that buying tons of cosmetics for axe for staf king crown etc...ill never get back becouse its Amazon game and they are scamers.
In all honesty I just barley came back. Since the time since the game launched I stop playing when brimstone was introduced. I’m happy 😊 see we have mounts and no more stress of not having enough Azoth . I remember half the time playing you were walking than playing. Shot I remember when you had to unalive yourself so, you can respond to closes settlement. Now coming back it feels like a finish game and I did buy angry earth for the mounts. They delivered on the mounts the feel amazing 🤩
@@nathiirblacktongue1683 I can't play ESO. The graphics are odd, the animations feels 2004. Graphics are very important especially when the gameplay is 'mid' it's nothing mindblowing. The environment doesn't make me feel like I'm playing a high quality game but rather a low budget one especially when cinematics are incredible and the story seems very well written and then woomp woomp you land in a world that is a big let down
Release low effort game, make a few million box sales, put in minimal effort development, milk some expansions, repeat on console, cut costs, kill game, repeat with new game. This is Amazon.
i stoped playing ever since i lost 200k gold on the ah because of the stupid similar fonts that blends the numbers and points between then they had the audacity that it was my fault and not their stupid font
@@Droidekus if it was just me then yes it's but so many players got scammed by this trick, ppl are just putting numbers similar to the cheapest prices on gems so they can scam players who are actually grinding this game then you are here telling me it's my fault for a game exploit? Hence why this game is dead IG.
@tictonikfgh has 0.000001% to do with why the game is dead, scammers are everywhere, this isn't even by you being naive it's by you not reading the number before you click
the only reason i bought this game 2-3 years ago was for pvp and specifically 3v3 arena and man do i regrett it. haven't touched the game since then and don't even get me started with their stupid "gender" shit
Its funny how angry pc players are all doom and gloom when every message on the general chat ingame (console closed beta) was positive and excited. Its like every content creator is makin misery porn videos "why New world will fail again", "Closed beta is a disaster" blahblah Maybe people just wanna play for a few months without needin a 24/7 mmo with plenty of fomo. For 60 bucks seems a better model than many f2ps. And obviously the game isnt gonna focus on PvP soon, cause they know it aint keepin people playin, PVE does
