Best ways to level Expertise from a returning player: Get Gypsum from 3v3 and Outpost Rush, each give 2 gypsum. Run Garden of Genesis 2x, another 2 gypsum Do 10-15min of gathering, typically get enough gypsum for another orb. In total that gets you around 7 orbs a day. Plus Genesis gives good bumps. Ive been playing the game again after a 8 month break. Was 500 when i came back and been back for only 3 days and already have a lot of gear at 540-550. Also make sure you use the gypsum on jewelry first before what ever slot you want as jewelry drops arent common so bumping them naturally is less common. Obviously this way of leveling is around 2 hrs of playing (give or take based on how good/bad party members are for multiplayer content). But if it really only took me 3 days to do it this way you could easily get to 550+ in a week or so just by playing for 30min to an hour a day if you just know how to spend the little play time you have.
You can farm emerald gypsum - before 60 as long as you have 200 in a gathering (skinning easy and fastest) - i've done this on a my 2 separate accounts and you can also get garnet gypsum before 60 so you have a pile of those you can make cast before you even hit 60 just have to get to level 60 zone
Some good news with the Gypsum Orbs, you can now gain 3 to 9 expertise per Gypsum mold in each slot since the most recent patch. Im shooting through the numbers now
I started playing the last week of June. I am 600 expertise on all my armor and most of my weapons are around 580. My advice for new players are: 1. Elite chest runs 2. Activate event beacons daily for gypsum. 3. Craft event gear 4. Run barnacles and black powder with 600gs event armor because it's the easiest dungeon. Make sure you do repeatable quest outside of the expedition for gypsum.
New subscriber thanks to this video, seriously thanks for breaking this down! I'm a returning player, looking to get back into it semi-casually and this reassured A LOT of my worries and concerns with the grind or how to go about it
Great video! Super helpful for someone who no lifed new world the first month and hasn't played since, will definitely use these tips to prepare for the brimstone update.

Running Myrk/Mines etc runs alao greatly boosts expertise levels by drops from Elite chests and also rewards you with Gypsum from Corrupted rifts and named bosses
I don't know which ones youre talking about, but I know DannehTV sent me this this morning docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vEv-9lAIcDAn6MrpIek1pgIsL4PfMVQjbx5O_MO_Hx0/edit#gid=53356352 as a daily check list
So you went over alot of things in this guide. Is there like an order you do them. Im a list guy and would love to have like he do this then this then this and rinse and repeat. Anyway you can do that?
Happy to help, for me doing this causally and missing a few days here and there it took me about 2 months to go from 500 to 600. With the latest changes and boosts I’m sure that would have been around a month. I have a friend who leveled to 60 and got to 600+ in 2 weeks
The expertise system makes the individual a much better player , during this phase the Individual can play 3v3 , opr , dungeons, invasions, open world pvp , gathering and crafting, craft is also a very good way to aquire gold
I just hit 60 2 days ago and one thing i noticed is the pvp experience is miserable since everyone else is fully decked out. even though i spent 20k as soon as i hit 60 to get all 600 slots, people in the outpost still do 3x as much dmg as i do, meaning the only viable option is ranged.
Thank you for this video . Really helpful! 1 thing I wanted to check on. Does it matter what the gear score of your current weapons is before you start? Or is just standard that everything starts at 500 when you hit 60? And do you then have to go and get gear still? I assume it's just that the Gear Score of what you find will be higher based on the Expertise score? So other than levelling your expertise, what should you be doing at the same time to find the best gear? After watching your video, I think I completely understand how the expertise is upgraded and roughly how it works, but I'm just not 100% sure on how this actually translates over to getting your BIS gear.
I quit NW a week after the expertise system came out. Put 800 hrs into it and got burned out. Loved every minute though Now I'm back with a buddy who wants to play. We started last weekend and we're already level 45. This is my 3rd character I'll have leveled to 60. This has been the most fun leveling experience since. So much of the game is streamlined now. Way less bugs. I always have azoth (thank god) Luckily I was 590 in all my watermarks before I quit so don't have to do that again from scratch on my main This video will definitely help me help him though, with all the changes
Yeah, burn out is a thing that can get us all, glad you're back and hope you all have a great time :) Glad to hear this was helpful and that you'll be sending it their way
I've had the same problem, youtube's been doing things on their back end and sometimes it just randomly sucks for me... 🤷♀️ Thanks for trying to watch them, and thanks for coming back to try again in the future.
When gear is at that level and you're expertise is not, the gear gets nurfed somewhat, so you can use that yes, and it will be better then any other gear, but as your expertise levels up, so will the power of the 600 gear.
The event armor 600 is not nerfed or tied to your personal equipement slot expertise. You use its full 600 GS potential and the first time you equip it it gives you a small expertise boost to the equipement slot.
Our server is packed full every day There is another server that had quee times Game is tons better Lots of new players It's still fun Tons and tons of new content has been added that you can't even get to as there is lots to do
Jeez'! dunno how you guys can handle that system. Good old days where drops was based on luck, chances and mob/boss difficulty. This expertise number-grind-system... i tried i get bored in 1h top
That system you just described still exists, harder mobs = higher chance to get more powerful gear, this system is connected to it, which allows you to target an upgrade.
@@gingerlovesmmos yea its always someward connected to mob difficulty but now to a much lesser extent. I tried farming for an hour in shaddred mountin, i think i got 1 item which wasent an upgrade. Knowing that i have to farm all items from 500 up to 600 THAT way kills it for me lol
@@ts-cj2ym it's always been like that. Before the expertise system you had to raise your Watermark little by little, drop by drop. The difference is now it's easily trackable and you can do it multiple different ways. Also big numbers pop up when you increase it for that yummy dopamine
These gearing systems are absolute cancer to the mmo genre, endless item level farming where it takes 100+ days after hitting max level just to be able to play the game is a joke
Hardly, I don't think you understand MMORPGs and how the industry works. But welcome anyway, you might enjoy how the game evolves, or you might enjoy the game here in a few years. Should be a pretty epic journey :)
