@@gingerlovesmmos Hey man, thanks for the response. I'm actually having a lot of trouble just finding up to date information. The wiki is very lacking and the chat is no help. It took me an hour to figure out that they got rid of a lot of the refining agents. When I clicked on the Discord in your description I was hoping for a New World dedicated server but it seems it's for multiple games and creators. I feel as though that can be confusing for a lot of people.
Yeah, I find that multiple games is a healthy approach to gaming, but I have heard that critique before. I’d recommend just putting yourself in the new world role so that way you don’t have to worry about all the extra stuff, assuming you want to be apart of this group. Regarding up to date info, a lot has changed for sure, but what I can do is if you have questions, we do have a lot of good info and knowledgeable people in the group and i can always try and take your questions to turn them into videos and shorts to help out others.
@@gingerlovesmmos I've joined the Discord and out myself in the role. I'll be asking questions there from now on. Thanks again for your responses. Keep up the good work. I'll definitely be tuning in.
Did anyone notice the recruit chat???? And I quote, "tried to show my gf dragonball she made it to the second episode where it shows gokus peen and she completely lost it..."
Played New World at launch and enjoyed it the gathering and crafting were and still is fantastic. The problem was lack of story which caused me to burnout. I've had a total of 4 characters and still haven't made it to max I end up getting bored before reaching 60. I've also not been rushing but taking it all in. I've come back after hearing of all the changes. I'm a long time MMO player but haven't found anything that's grabbed my attention like WoW did at its peak. I always thought New World had potential it just needed that final polishing and further story progression.
Perfect timing. Thanks for this. On Saturday I ran Kings Fall raid with some clan mates and one of us asked about New World. I hadn't played it since about Dec 2021. Installed the next day and got back into it. I was completely lost and I have a Lvl 27 character but decided let me start a new one. So I did and I'm enjoying the game again. This guide is really helping.
Imho the biggest problem with NW is the community. Everywhere between level 0-60 it is basically a single player game. So find friends first and play then, but don’t expect to make friends in this game :-(
Peter I agree 10000% I joined at launch with about 10 Differnt Friends over the next few months they all left by Christmas 2021. I made it to Christmas 2022 but its just nothing to do unless you have friends. your Correct I met people in game but just made no Friends or enough to do much in game... I will be honest I am a bad Pvper player so that makes it harder...
I don't think specifically its the actual community, it's more the lack of social tools that the game has to offer to make a company actually communicate in-game well. That and you're also looking at having to first pick your faction around lvl 17, then you're open to choosing a company. But the company info board is shockingly bad, has no way of messaging companies or providing details on what they do. So you're left to the recruitment channel spamming messages and finally, once youre actually in a company, everything is conducted on Discord because the game utterly sucks in this respect. I've met some great people and companies but the process is just too complicated and not really the fault of the playerbase. If you also now mix that in with significantly dropping new users and playerbase, there's less and less people to group with until you hit 60. Again, not specifically down to the community but circumstances and tools. This isn't to excuse the toxic player base out there though , but those are easily blocked.
Yeah, I do feel some better social tools would really help people out as well as cross server play because it’s difficult to get connected when people are on other servers
I returned to the game and joined a company and always got told they won't help till I'm 60 then it was they won't help till I was 600 so on awful experience in that aspect
only a few hours in and I'm really enjoying the game. I like the fact that its a mix of standard MMO style with an added crafting mechanic. Combat is really fun so I'm enjoying it more than ESO. Anyone else have preference on NW vs ESO?
Played on release and enjoyed the combat but after 15 hours my friends dropped this game and moved on. Things sound awesome and lioking forward to jumping back in and actually giving it a propper go.
My biggest complaint about the cash shop is that AGS clearly spends more time designing purchasable skins than they do on craft/loot gear skins. Most players run around with some combination of skins because the actual item skins are so bad.
Idk I just started playing last week and all of the store skins look like dogshit to me, also very expensive, 20 dollars I can get my head around kind of but, damn near 40 dollars for some that stuff is insane
This is a fantastic video. Super detailed but not too long. Was planning on coming back as I heard a lot had changed since launch. Cheers for this vid :)
Speaking of the system requirements part....none of that matters if you have GeForce Now! It's plays exceptionally well on the service. Great video! Edit: Hah! Literally two seconds after I unpause the video you mention how well it plays in GeForce Now lol
Great video! I'm planning on giving the game a return after hearing about a lot of updates and this is exactly what I needed, some repetition on the basic mechanics of the game didn't hurt either!
Great video. Can't watch the whole thing because the mouth click you do periodically is activating all the wrong parts of my autism, but I appreciate what you do and you've convinced me to give the game another try so thank you.
Loved this game, I stopped playing because tank got no love on the pvp scoreboard 😅 Just about to watch your video, I’m hoping it’s mentioned that tanking gets some love 😆 Got my sub 👍🏻
2 years ago i played since launch and after reching lvl 60 i got tierd becose of leak of content so i toke a brake and yesterday i decided to give it a chance and when i loged in i remembered that i need to walk all the way to the objective and that this game have no mounts then after 15 minutes i log out and decided to come back when they add mounts and anything new that is not a dungeon.
its been a long time since i played new world and this helped me alot to get back into the game and find out what they added without my brain losing cells THX
hello ! Im seriously considering of buying NW. Although i'd have just a few questions. How's the population and life in NW ? When you go to cities, open world, do you meet people or is it just deserted (kinda) ? I'm very much into High Fantasy genre, and that "conquistador" look on some players kinda scares me a bit. As you get new gear etc...do you feel the "conquistador" theme fades out or is it the main look of that game ? Thank you :)
Regarding the setting, I too felt that would be a turn off and found myself surprised by just how much I enjoyed the world and it's feeling. Player pop is down, but that's because most players are waiting for new content or checking in on other games, the population will ebb and flow they all mmorpgs. There is an expansion later this year, and so you'll see the hype start to go up as this year goes on, so now is a great time to start so you can capitalize on the hype later :)
watching the video, it seemed like there was a consistent skipping of in game frames. Is this a normal problem and is it fixable in game? interested in the game, but the constant skip was super jarring to watch.
That was for some reason my recording of the guide, I didn't notice it until I checked out the video and saw what you're referring too... sorry about that.
Love this video going to be starting New World Tomorrow after work! Ive played WoW since 2008 and just want a new fresh (different) Experience, just love MMOs and love some of the changes I have seen!
@@the_glitch so I ended up getting it last week, and currently level 42, definitely enjoying the game. Its been a refreshing experience almost like a Skyrim MMO/ Dark Souls Combat which i didnt think I would like coming from WoW but the games are completely different in a good way!
Might be starting NW soon. Never played before, not really an MMO guy either. But I’m sick of fps games and d4 was devastatingly bad. Hearing that NW has an update next month, figured this is the time to get into it.
If you want to team up, jump into our discord, even if we're not on the same server, it makes playing more fun, just chatting it up :) (link in desc of each video)
Great video Brian! Yeah been playing FFXIV for a very long time, but I find the game is getting to hardcore with the Savage raids and the elitist in that game. Also tab target combat and so much combos to to rotate can get very boring after awhile. I have new world, but been holding it off cause well FFXIV was taking all my time and also making me hate to play games in general that is when I came to my thoughts and like if this game is making feel like this then I need to let it go. FFXIV is my first MMORPG back in 2015 i've been playing it hard core since and been avoiding other games over the years i have quit went back left a server that i find people where so drama queen in it made the experience very crap. Went on another server with a buddy and now that buddy is sick of the game as well so now i have no one really to play with i done my own FC and got a nice FC house that i won the lottery, but willing to drop it all I'm done with FFXIV. Now New World works amazing on GNU/Linux and i'm installing it now I have played it back on launch, but didnt really stick to it as FFXIV was always getting me to play and I need something fresh I like more action combat so the combat in new world seems great. Now I dont think this game has raids, but i think it has dungeons eh... i need to know more about this game I might enjoy playing it.. anyhow thanks for this video man, i needed a good insight on this game and you ace it. i'm a newbie so i need to learn this game, but overall it looks really good.
Hey dude, and thanks for sharing your story with me. The good news is that raids are coming as is so many cool things. Hit me up if you need anything :)
A game I really enjoy! Took some time off and even got a couple of friends to start playing again! My question is, is this game still affecting certain RTX gpus? I remember a little after the game came out that apparently this game killed quite a few players gpus and I remember people were saying to cap your frames and lower your settings. Originally I was playing max setting and uncapped fps, ever since that ordeal I capped my frames to 60 fps, and medium settings. Think it’s safe to raise them?
While the graphics card manufacturers where to blame for the issue, I believe you to be safe, but in terms of the uncapped frames? Just limit it to your monitori refresh rate
This game is brought down BIG TIME with how you have 3 moves for each tree. They need to get that to at least 5 for the combat to stay fun and engaging
New World is actually one of the best of the MMO world right now for sure. I've been enjoying doing the questline, however, I recently hit 60, and figuring all the abbreviations, requirements, strategies for dungeons etc, is absolutely brutal, and my server has a lot of BS elitists that say to play X or quit, because noone will team with you. Thankfully the rest of the server said that was horseshit. I've decided to finally look at guides so I don't become a massive pain for my team.
@@gingerlovesmmos Yeah man! I'm glad AGS stuck it out with this game. I've played tons of MMOs since Silkroad Online/ RF Online etc, and this is the first one since OG WoW that has felt like a truly living world. I hope the mounts don't change that. And I hope they don't add flying mounts, because the exploration is amazing.
We're always open, and try to be there for anyone who needs us, but right now, we're just casual, so you're welcome to join, and if you don't feel we're a good fit, you can always find another group and there is no hard feelings at all.
Can anyone confirm if new world is getting mounts? That's the only reason I didn't get it but I want to. I heard some where it was and got super excited. If it's true I'll buy this weekend
returning player here, is he economy still non existent on legacy servers or should i just make a new char on fresh servers? last i saw nothing was worth anything on my server (highest pop eu server), there was as much of anything, anyone could want and it cost next to nothing, on the flipside there was no money to be made either.
i started playing this game on a 1050 Ti with 4GB Dedicated video ram and 8 GB computer RAM with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz yet my game struggles to even constantly hold 30 frames on minimum settings can anyone help with this
I love this game, left for a while an just came back. My only issue is the weapon grinding. I leveled weapons then realized I didn't necessarily like the gameplay of these weapons in the endgame, now I'm forced to grind for days to get new weapons up to 20. And I'm going at peak hours into these 2 outposts and I never see anyone, so the grind is extremely slow. They should introduce like weapon exp items in the store to help with that, it's not something that would break the game.
@@Apple-xx3wh leveling the weapons faster is not p2w, not even remotely close. It's just for convenience because it doesn't give you any advantage in pvp. You who chose to buy the exp scrolls vs the person who decided to manually grind will still both have lvl 20 weapons. There's 0 advantage in endgame.
i like the game. its just that ... like with other mmo's the trades of items that matters are basically owned by gold sellers . they control the market. so if you don't mind grinding your but off go and get some gold and stuff and sell it to gold seller that again put higher prices and you grind some more ... It is like real life. inflation goes up and you work more then it goes up more and you work more and then you die trying .
Why does the game seem to freeze for like 0.25 secs every 2 seconds? Just running around the town and outside near the end.. Is that the same for everybody?
No, I haven’t seen that happen. Might be a memory issue on your machine. If you can, jump on GeForce now and see if it happens for you on that platform.
Oh, yeah, that's on me, something went wrong in ether the capture or edit of this video... I see what you're talking about now... My newer videos don't have that problem, but yeah, sometimes my PC doesn't play nice, usually after an update to the OS.
Native controller support is coming from what I hear. It's not currently available as far as I know. It is a great game though. Definitely keep it in mind for the future.
in my opinion the game is severely lacking in many areas. There just isn't any content for a more active MMorpg playerbase. I recently installed the game and noticed that there were still bugs that had been known for over a year. The way they handled the economy, the dupes, the copying of mobs, gearscore?? (didn't have the designs for many new weapons lying around I reckon). There is also nothing really for me to farm. It isn't hard to reach max lvl in a skill which in MMo's is a bad thing, especially when there are only a few ressources. The overlvling also isn't much. I like the general look of the world and the graphics, but I m missing a story, originality and options of what I can do. In Oldschool Runescape I can defeat many different bosses with always different gear needs. I can train skills, do dailies in those and grind a skill to maxlvl which will actually make it more meaningful. In NW you just gamble and hope for decent stats.. The world is also massive and always different. NW is mostly empty and copied structures. Idk what the devs were doing with how much producing the game cost. Maybe juggling around concepts and then midway settling on Mmorpg instead of deciding on a concept from the onset was the killer here. Also needing their own engine idk about that. Unity and Unreal Engine could have done the job well enough instead of this bugfest. Sorry for the rant but I just wanted to share my opinion. I m just sad about the state of it and the unrealized potential it had.
@Ginger World Gaming what content cycle is NW bringing out that would entice players to return? Leaderboards? Transmog? A 20 player raid? From what I've viewed, most of the players NW is currently holding onto are waiting for new games releases I.E. Throne and Liberty and Blue Protocol. New World caught a massive break in 2022 since no new mmo's came out due to delays. And no I'm not new to content cycles if you're inquiring to know.
So new world is currently on a 1 main 3 minor continent cycle, if they release a paid expansion then they’d shift to a 2 main 6 minor cycle. So the main is the content on the year, so a 1 is a once a year “big” update aka Brimstone. And the minor is the updates that are more substantial but not as big as a Main. This affords players multiple hype cycles, and a bigger hype cycle. Hype invites players in and back to the game. This will be how T&L and Blue Protocol will also function. New World has shown that it can invite players back to the game.
wanted to make a new char and quickly found out that there aren't enough new players to actually play with and do things with, like quests and dungeons. Sure, there is most always a higher level person that will come help you out if you're patient enough and you basically just follw them through at lightning speed, missing all the immersion/ambience . Not a meaningful or enjoyable experience. They really need to find a way to keep a flow of new playuers coming in. Not sure how they could accomplish that with every player being able to be every class, using every weapon.
I think that gets fixed with them updating how their servers work together and interact. In my mind, something along the lines of what Guild Wars 2 does where it tries to put people into the world together and in a way async team them up.
@@gingerlovesmmos Would be nice, appreciate the reply! You are hands down my number one source for anything New World, your videos are fantastic, well laid out and easy to understand and informative
calling it the best mmorpg is wild. But it is new and fresh, I'll give it that for sure but it doesnt do any one aspect the best except for maybe making gathering and crafting fun
You keep trying to get people to come back I love your Effort. Yet every time I log it the game is just no fun anymore.... I love you still love it but I have now not logged in since Dec 25th or 26th just nothing to jump in for.... Keep it up big guy wishing you all the best....
Honestly I would say the best thing for you is perhaps wait to play, lots on the way but if your not having fun, no need to stress yourself out or force yourself to play. :) I’ve been enjoying a handful of games this month and trying to do more stand up comedy too.
@@gingerlovesmmos I also left in December out of sheer boredom. The sheer lack of variety in weapons was baffling. You said, more stuff is coming? They have a roadmap? EDIT: Oops didn’t watch all of the video when I asked that lol
Somebody still plays New Grind? Was part when it started... no content, just grinding and is why we all left the game (not a single player I started with still plays this boring game). Returning to such a game would just teach others to run the same crap. Would never return to a game that pissed me off as much as New Grind.. ahh World. Uninstalled and in the trash...
This game is doing really well, but there is a belief online that isn't the case, you should really check out the game here soon, the raid drops here in a month (ish) and the expansion this fall is really exciting. :)
This game is done, once you make level 60 the main quest goes to shattered mountains where enemies are level 66 and one shot you. Here you will need all level 625 gear and a team of 5? The same quest this guy has not done yet from 3 months ago? When this game was popular, there are videos of 20 30 players queing in this area. Now, there are none. So dont expect a rewarding story conclusion. There is none. Buying a house has a quest but does not explain trophies that are very useful. All the expeditions that are rated level 60 over this weekend have no one playing them. The entry for these, like the end story mission is too high and this is a running theme throughout this game. New players will get to level 60 and bounce off this game so hard and give up, that's how I feel. You may stay to level trades but that's it. Brimstow is fine and gives you better gear but can be a slog. All in all, this game is too top-heavy, with most content designed for the heyday of this game. Some of those top elite players may still be around, but it's the new blood that should be important to keep the game alive. All higher level content needs an easier on ramp and a big injection of fun. This game will die if the developers do not pay attention to the new player progression right up until end game. Those elite players may bitch about it but there are still higher levels to these activities, just it would be better for the game all round to have content for everyone not just the top.
When does the guide for new players actually start, so far you have wasted 6 minutes talking about buying the game, and cosmetics and now the dev road map wtf seriously get to the point.
