There are actually three versions of the song, titled “Start a Wave,” that were made. 0:58- The main version is played at the beginning of World of Color: One, features the voice talent of Loren Allred (‘Never Enough’ in 20th Century Studios’ “The Greatest Showman”). Another was produced by Disney which acts as a “pop version” of the song played at the end of the show as exit music. An additional version was produced by Cody Fry himself and was the demo he sent to Disney and now acts as a music single that is available to stream and buy today
I’m so glad I traveled to see this show! Unlike the first one, this one has a theme that carries through the entire show. Each segment capturing the pivotal moments when the characters decide to make a change. Deciding to be true to themselves, deciding to face their past, deciding to make a stand. All it takes is one moment. Then having the stories resolve at the end, showing how each action affects everyone around them, connected the whole show! Having it end with Mulan questioning herself and her decisions, Moana finding her faith and becoming a hero, and ending with all the heroes who made a change. Really clever! Also, this video doesn’t do it justice but there are some insane technical achievements with the water and lasers. Some of the things they did with the water, projections, and lights, I didn’t even know it was possible since I was so used to seeing the old world of color!! Edit: Also, Ive been rewatching this nonstop and I just realized that the Star Wars sequence ends with Luke isolated because of his mistakes then transitions to Simba choosing to go back to face them. This show is so crazy
@@Soodomoomoo Good point! I think maybe because it was such an open theme that it felt like they put a collage of random moments into the show. ONE’s theme was specific in a way that I could understand why they were choosing those specific moments.
I like it! My favorite part was definitely the intro to the Star Wars segment, but the Pal-a-Round during the Marvel segment and the coaster as the mountains for Mulan were pretty cool too!
World of Color is without fail my favorite of the nighttime shows. Fantasmic has an entire corner of my heart all to itself too, but there’s just something so unique about WOC. This looks like an incredibly done refresh of it, and I hope I get to see it in person at some point!
I’m kind of surprised they didn’t include a Tangled segment. The scene with the lanterns would’ve worked much better than something like Ratatouille imo.
For them talking about ripples and water I'm surprised they didn't add the little mermaid. Little mermaid is my favorite Disney movie and still one of the best ones out their by fan base.
@@Meg63826 I agree that it’s a lot of Moana. I think Moana fits better here than the fireworks. Ariel would have been a perfect fit in the “I Want” melody alongside Hercules, Belle, and Quasimodo.
I’ve seen this show live as well. It is as Beautiful as you can see in the teaser. The soundtrack is very Heartfelt. I can tell the Imagineers worked very hard on this and I give them my respect. The Avengers part also Gave me Chills. Might be my favorite nighttime show of all time. Plus it has a Very deep Meaning as the show states in the end: “No matter who you are or where your from, You have the power to make a difference…It just…takes…ONE☝🏻”
Thank You very much for sharing it here wish could have seen it but guessing will not last til the 70th Anniversary when I will hopefully being there for my first and only time.
This show is visually and musically stunning with so much meaning. WOC has never been about showcasing 100 years of Disney, nor should it be. The Soul piece was one of the best parts. Marvel was a show stopper moment. Moana on the boat (which you couldn't really see here) reaching out to the water was breathtaking. They could/should do an entire Star Wars version. This is one of my fav shows. Not a fan of fireworks so I always prefer WOC. Thx for filming it!
This was one of the best world of color. I had the best view on the bridge. And I love how they made this "one" Really inspiring for an artist like me. Can't believe how 1 man has created and left this here.
I don't get all the hate the show is getting. I think it's pretty great! I loved the Soul and Mulan parts since they highlight the soundtracks of both movies and the Encanto part for highlighting the soundtrack and "Waiting on a Miracle" and lastly, the Moana section for executing "I am Moana" better than Enchantment. The Marvel section starting with Falcon's "on your left" gave me goosebumps. I especially love the opening theme by Cody Fry and Loren Allred! To those of you who don't like the show, follow the shows message and start a wave and do something about it. I mean, if you don't like a show, make your own concept show and post it on social media if you feel like you could do better.
I will tell you why the show is getting hate. This is for the 100th anniversary of the Disney company. And all of it was more modern stuff, nothing earlier than the mid-90s. Not a SINGLE sequence of something that Walt himself actually had a thing to do with! He didn't even touch any of this stuff. People want nostalgia, not just new stuff, ESPECIALLY when celebrating a full century of work. The vast majority of this show was not even fully Disney, it was Pixar and Lucasfilm and Marvel. Where was Snow White, the original animated feature? Or ANY princess, for that matter? Where was Mickey Mouse? Where was Oswald? Where was ANYTHING that Walt had a hand in, and where was the history? For a basic show, this was fine. For the 100th anniversary, this was highly disappointing and way too modern-centric.
That was fantastic! Better than anything I've ever seen WDW do. That Star Wars scene was also epic and loved the inclusion of Walt. After all none of it would have happened without Walt Disney.
We got one more month left of the "train wreck" that is Walt Disney World's 50th, then we get Happily Ever After and Epcot forever back and the fans will finally be happy again. Just to clarify, I'm speaking from the fans' perspective when I call it a "train wreck." I just feel like things could have been better if it weren't for the conditions WDW were under.
Loved it! I think this was one of the most thematically strong shows since Illuminations! Also glad both shows start with Walt or Mickey which was oddly not included in WDW's 50th.
@@JoseAngel-fq1ygpersonally i believe Harmonious is better than this only because that one actually made me cry. However their firework shows could definitely use some work 🙄
The ending seems confusing. You can see people leaving in the video yet the song and some effects continue. So is the end at the climax of the theme? or after Walt? Or when the “One” appears.
Thanks so much for the hard work WDWNT does to bring this to their fans. You do give a true perspective and report on every aspect of Disney. Other than being completely diverse and inclusive, other than Walt, the show seems very disjointed and hardly any meaning towards the 100 years of Wonder. Pretty much all of the segments are from the past 30 years, where's the history from the first 70 years or so? You would think that something from the early days of the company should have been included. I was very pleased with Wonderous Journeys where there was a much better show reflecting upon more of the animated classics that shaped the Walt Disney company.
Definitely the imagineers did an incredible job! The theme was on point. Gave me all sorts of feels, but who else got teary eyes on Simba and Mulan?! Sooooo gggooooooddd!!!! Overall, it was a mood changer on Avengers. "Someone has to start it!" Right?!
As someone who isn’t a huge fan of the original WoC nor any of the other versions, One just blew me away. It has some flaws, but man they really kicked it out of the park with this one.
I feel like disney should host 100th anniversary countdown on October 15th that would be more exciting than abc 2000 millennium! Traveling 192 countries around the world. Across 24h broadcast
This show is now my favorite version of world of color. Honestly I believe that the show desperately needs something new. Was tired of seeing the same OG show for 13 years with outdated effects, old characters and no utilization of the spotlights. I feel like Disney should make World of Color ONE a permanent replacement. I would also like to conclude that this theme song is better than the original and I would compare this show to Universal Cinematic Celebration where it visited movies old and new. Really enjoyed the new show 10/10
Amazing but my problem is that dosen't hace much disney and pixar films here i expected more i would like to see all walt disney animation studios and pixar animation studios films together and the all the live action films like touchstone disney and 20th century fox it could be a better time to add avatar on world of color
Definetly the weaker of the two new shows. There wasn't very much cohesion, it felt more like a clip-show. OG WOC is better, but love seeing all the tech and lighting.
If this were a generic new World of Color show, I'd say it's amazing. But how does this show celebrate 100 Years of Disney? It's basically "Walt Disney Presents: Stuff From After I Died: ON WATER!" Don't get me wrong; I love Pixar, I love Star Wars, I love Marvel. But why are these properties that Disney purchased representeded over anything Disney themselves did before 1994? No Fantasia, no Snow White, no Cinderella, nothing showcasing the parks, and none of the Sensational Six. And when you conisder that the original show has "The Old Mill" in it of all things, that's sad, in my opinion. Like I said, on it's own, great new show. As a celebration of Disney's 100 Years, not so good.
While I find this show so bland and boring especially the beginning. I find this argument to rather pointless. Disney Animation got a show to themselves at Disneyland (and rightfully so they’ve needed one for years now). You’re complaining about this show being about purchases since 2006. Well whether you like it or not, they are part of the 100 year anniversary. And they are just as important as is the original animation studio and parks. Look at WB: some of MGM, Hanna Barbera, DC Comics, and HBO were purchases and yet they’ve been stitched into the history of the WB. But you don’t like that Disney puts Marvel and Star Wars in their celebration just because.
@@aquapyro1 If you’d read what I said, I didn’t say I had a problem with the purchased properties being included. I said I had a problem of them being included over anything prior to 1994. The show was touted as celebrating 100 Years of the Disney company. But it’s ignoring 70 of those years! And again, I didn’t bring up just animated films. I mentioned there was no mention of the parks/resorts. And I could add television and live action movies to that too. You could have had segments highlighting things from different eras/departments. Instead what they gave us is another clip show featuring the same Disney/Pixar properties that they only seem to push with a little Marvel and Star Wars worked in. And the Walt bits just seemed like they were tacked on because someone thought that would suffice to make it about the anniversary.
@@imthewalrus2379 i was expecting more with all disney Features both animated and live action pixar marvel studios Star Wars with Indiana jones of 20th century fox films
This is a show that focused extensively on modern-day Disney Animation from Renaissance era, as well as characters from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars/Lucasfilm (whose three companies were acquired by Disney in 2006, 2009, and 2012), while still containing clips from Walt Disney's quote and tv series footage. Maybe someone will be disappointed to see no Disney films shown before 1994 appeared in WOC: One. Instead, all Disney Animation prior to 1994 were appeared at Wondrous Journeys, which received critical acclaim.
This was an excellent anniversary show! You can tell there was a lot more heart put into this than Disney Enchantment. The theme song is beautiful, the choice of characters make sense (Pocahontas was the ONE to unite the people, mirabel was the ONE to lead the family, Joe was the ONE to inspire others). Overall it had a great message and just like Walt Disney was the ONE to create the company, so can we with the world around us.
What's more frustrating is that people literally SAID this about the 50th, it was the main complaint! The lack of nostalgia! And then they go and pull the EXACT same crap for the 100th celebration. Pretty inexcusable, in my opinion.
There's something rough to me that there are no big moments from anything that Walt worked on in a show that's meant to be celebrating Walt. Like sure it's his company that made this stuff, but the opening quote that it's great if the public like his work, only for his own company to apparently not like it enough to use it. I think it's a really good show, but I think it's the wrong show to use to honour Walt.
This is a really good upgrade. The OG desperately needs and improvement. Can’t handle watching the same show for 13 years without any upgrades to the show. New characters and stories. Also it needs to utilize the new effects more.
@@DizDreamMC I partly agree with you, I think that some scenes from the original WOC could be replaced with more advanced ones, but nevertheless, as I am an international traveler who goes to Disneyland every 3-4 years, it seems to me that the show has aged very well, and that It brings back memories.
WOC ONE seems to me to be the strongest point of entertainment of the 100 celebration, (Its way better than the fireworks) I loved Ratatouille , Pocahontas, Soul, The Avengers and Star Wars, although I would have liked there to be an intro similar to Original WOF like with the 60th anniversary show, but I still liked the intro, but my problems with this show was that they didn't include older films, I like that they included Encanto and soul but there has to be contrast between generations, they could have put on a little segment of fantasía or the jungle book to make it feel more Disney
I know most of the comments I read from CM Preview night was "the wind caused issues." Looks like those comments were just an excuse from who saw it from CM preview night
Well after watchingWondrous Journeys first.... this felt all the more disappointing. Could have done without the first 10 minutes entirely I think. Slightly better after the Star Wars theme kicks in but just never got going for me. The Star Wars, Marvel and Ratatouille sections were about the best parts, lifting an otherwise dull show. The Walt Disney parts were a nice touch but felt out of place for the rest of what was shown. I miss the World of Color jingle too!
@@ians4535 Personally, I like the ending with "it just takes one," since that is the theme of the show, after all. I understand that you're disappointed at how this show didn't include anything relating to more of the company before 1994, but if you think about it, the fact that most of these stories shown here had to do with one person starting something and, ultimately, Walt Disney starting the company 100 years ago. I understand that the original world of color is part of it, but it takes from their current temporary direction.
Because they felt that Disney had not included any films made before 1994, even Disney didn't bring Oswald into the WOC: One, which will really special if he is included because it's the first character made by Walt. Yet, Wondrous Journeys finally takes the advantage that not used by WOC: One, where Wondrous has showcasing every films from Walt Disney Animation Studios. However, this show still no Oswald on it.
World of Reimagine Tomorrow is definitely souless as its primary purpose-- rehashing classics for the modern, incoherent plot-hole storylines, followed by promoting purchased IPs, showcasing legacy characters who are to be replaced by modernized, self-insert characters. I find it lacking there are none of the LGBTXYZ characters in these lukewarm performances-- then again, many families attending are not living in Twitter, not a big source of income! How long until Walt's speech will be replaced with their current modern slogan?
