Wow! I just started New world and have gone skill 8 in every weapon. I’m level 28 now. I will try this today. Question…how do you split your stats? Lol I don’t have many attribute points so far but maybe a 3rd in each of the main stats? STR, int, con? Thanks for video. Fun watching. Heavy armor? I will rewatch.
This build is end game pvp assassin build, not much for pve leveling up. Here I don't split my stats at all and am just int and con and use sword and shield for utility
@@ryanrudyk yeah, I'll probably give it another go soon. Was going to give it another patch or two to clean things up, but I'm going to have extra time around Christmas so I might go back sooner than I thought.
Hi mate i couldnt see the chest and helmet perks on the video my question is do u run any sword n shield perks for them or we dont need any sword perks?
In that video the pieces I didnt show were just faction gear. I've updated my build since then and now I have unending thaw, refreshing ice spike, empowering leaping strike, accelerating defiant stance
@@ryanrudyk what do you mean by that ? sorry i am new to the game still 20 lvl, and i loved your build. what are those ? skills or gems or something on the armor ?
Lmao this is awesome. I bet that stun would go nice with GA execute too. But ice spike is so much flashier. It ain’t that easy to land even on a stationary target
I run ice and sword as well but have not tried spike, going to give this a try was wondering though on your thoughts with heavy armor? Or is the 10% dmg that important?
great build. I have been trying out a SS and FS build but I may have to try this one out as well. You have a kite shield, is most of the other gear medium then? Thoughts on managing ranged in OPR?
Nice, the fire staff works as well, but with more of a ranged aspect. The way I deal with ranged is either leave em, or run towards them only quick blocking on impact to close the gap to sword leap. A trick if you don't already know.. but if you use shield bash and then go behind your target, you can use incinerate and it'll back crit!
@@ryanrudyk Do you think it's better to use a kite shield vs a round shield? I need to get better gear to get more INT lol. I am definitely not hitting as hard. I think I had the hardest time with Bow/musket players in OPR esp in the light armor. If I miss that leaping strike it's gg lol.
So I've recently switched to round shield with sturdy perk on it so it blocks as much as kite shield. That way I can run heavy helm/gloves medium chest/boots light legs and be in medium tier at 22.9/30. One trick I've done to gap close the ranged is I've got accelerated defiant stance perk. Gives you 25% increase speed while the ability is giving you 50% mitigation and a heal afterwards for any damage you've taken trying to run at super speed zig zagging shots
Any advice on taking down heavy armor users? They just seem to shrug off my damage. Granted it could just be gear etc. Oh I also recently got this shield perk that Inc speed while blocking and I think it stacks with the skill? Not sure but it's kind of nice to move so quickly while blocking. Would love to hear a break down of some of your fights.
Could work and can have the weapon perk to Armour shred them as well. But it's more of a defensive situation with rapier relying on your opponent for you to get the stun
Nice build. I've been running exactly that ice gauntlet build paired with a flamethrower fire staff build, which is fun but it's two weapons doing the same job. I'm going to try this. Liked. Subscribed.
Yeah the skill shots with ice spike and the sword lunge is very fun and rewarding. I haven't seen anything that really consistently counters this build since the shield counters every ranged class. And you can set up ice spike with 3 different set up with ice storm/heavy freeze, shield bash, and ice shower
I have not tried it with light Armour. I'm not a fan of how squishy it feels cause this build is focused on close combat. And you'll still have to work in the shield weight to stay in light Armour tier. As for frigid showers, I felt it was pretty underwhelming doing about 60 damage a tick
I run a simular build, how do you deal with great axe 300 con? They usually have lots of Defense and regen, while also doing some damage and having gap closers.
The key for fighting axe players is to save the sword lunge to get out of grav well. Ice gauntlet and shield have some great blocking mechanics and I will use that to negate their pull and maelstrom
I don't have a problem with the weapon swap bug. It usually happens when your spamming the swap button while cc'd. There's a rhythm to everything and when you figure out the rhythm it needs to be done instead of spamming it over and over the bug won't affect you as much. I know some people use 2 different buttons to swap to specific weapons instead of having 1 swap button for both also
This skill takes a lot of practice but the pay off is very rewarding, I have 2 videos of showing the potential. The trick of this ability is you need to set it up and make your opponent immobile, and get a feel for the distances then ice spike can be used at and stay in that pocket. I have spent a lot of time getting a feel for the distances I need to be to either let it go full range or cut it short by pressing the ability again
@@ryanrudyk they just did my man! In this upcoming April patch :) Ps can you share stats as well? I presume full int, 110cons to fill with 40cons food and rest all intelligence with a frost/elemental stone in the sword?
Sick build imagine if you could get 200 int 150 dex 150 con medium armour hearty and the stam regen from s&s would mean endless I frames throw a int gem in the sword and call it a day!
@@daemonkisure2952 eh it's tough, s/s offers different utility with defensive capabilities and a gap closer. Vg is pure offense and is probably better for group play. Vg is so good right now, very powerful on all aspects. I like to not follow the meta and think outside the box.
@@daemonkisure2952 like ryan said, its different but to be 100% honest ig/ss is more of a gimmick imo because you rely on a very telegraphed and hard to hit stun setup, you wont have alot of fun dueling people with experience because its veeery easy to dodge and you gonna end up holding block to reset your cds and its boring for both players, objectively ig/vg is better in every aspect, tho you might have more fun with ig / ss depending on your preference
@@ryanrudyk im kinda using a similar build as yours but my combo is dex/str and i do a stun into a reverse stab and i use a rouge perk. I one shot light armor and leave medium players at 20% ish health and have a rough time va heavy
My weakness is range since i only have 250 dex with this build and my bow does not do that much dmg. Would u recomand me to switch or stay? Any pros and cons with your build?
Depends on what you find yourself doing most. If you're mainly melee and using the bow as a support/off bar or if your mainly staying in the back and using your bow and using s/s as support. You could also go full dex since your sword secondary attribute is also dex. For my build if I try and bang with a ranged I'll lose everytime using ice gauntlet. I rely on inching forward with block and at the right time leaping strike into the bash
You think I'm cheating or editing the video for people to die? Ice spike is strongest spell in the game my friend. If you hit the enemy in the right spot, you get 4 separate damages. One for mighty spike, 2 for the two that shoot out the sides, and the path of ice spike all in one burst
@@ryanrudyk its about the perma stun. u should have 1 sec CC immunity after u get stunned. but hitting soemone with a stun while he is stunned is a joke and just show how unprofessional the developers are. 0 skill needed.
@@ryanrudyk no, you stun with shield, and then you directly hit him with ice shower. so he cannot escape the ice shower in any way, and this is just unfair and brain dead. i think you dont understand how games usually work. this is just far too easy. so every weapon that gives you a double stun option is broken. shield - ice/void/hatchet and other combinations. this is the reason why most of skillbased games have 1sec CC immunity after being stunned.
Yes but I'm not hitting them with multiple stuns. There is different versions of cc, stagger from leaping strike to confirm the stun, then the damage over time abilities don't break stun. Then I use a root from heavy freeze to hold them in place for the ice spike. I'm utilizing 3 different kinds of cc in the game, I'm not just spamming roots like ig/vg or spamming stuns
