Differences between this a p125. 1. Slicker design 2. CFX grand voice 3. New keybed (slightly heavier) 4. Bluetooth Save you 13mins of his blabbering

Paul would say that. I’m sure the Roland rep would say the same about Roland models. Keen to see and hear it in the flesh

The reviewer definitely gets overly enthusiastic about standard features of a digital piano.

I have a P-115 (i am watching on my iPad on its music stand and fiddling along as he plays everything in the key of C), and a couple things bug me. I am looking for a slightly more compact unit, and while I am liking the height difference, it is incorrect to say this is shorter, as the panel parts on the keyboard sides are wider. Yes, I got out a tape measure and compared it to their stats. As another commenter noted, way too much hyping of standard stuff. And “brand new” Sound Boost? Umm…I am looking at the on and off for sound boost as we speak on my several years old unit. Headphones? Metronome? A revolution!! 😂 That said, the shorter height interests me.

When are keyboards going to have Bluetooth send instead of just receive? Much more useful! I dream to one day get rid of my amp cables and have my keyboard playing wireless into my Bluetooth amp!!!🎉

GHC... Not to be confused with GHB! 😁

Is he just using the external speakers or is he hooked up to another speaker? Cause that sounds awesome if it’s just the speakers

Most of the P225 🎹🎶 recordings on RU-vid are via the stereo audio outputs at the back of the keyboard. I have played in a music store the P225 🎹 with its own 🔊 speakers 🔊 and it was still enjoyable to play, not tinny or thin sounding. For home, or cafe or restaurant, playing it would be a plus to be playing any digital piano 🎹 thru PreSonus R65 stereo powered monitors. 🤗🎹

GHC is apparently inferior to the GHS, in that it’s too stiff to press up along the key, something you need for complex classical passages

This is a really good time to buy the P-125a. The price has fallen to the same as the Casio PX-S1100, making the P-125a one of the best deals ever. Even the P-121 (another good deal) is now only a few dollars less than the P-125A. Meanwhile, the P-225 costs about the same as the PX-S3100 and the Roland FP-e50, so the P-225 is seriously outgunned. The Roland FP-30X and Kawai ES-120 (both much cheaper) are also better deals. When stocks of the P-125a have gone, Yamaha will struggle in this sector. I think the P-225 price will come down.

How can you possibly call it "outgunned" when you haven't even had a chance to play it yet ahah

Recently returned P-125A with multiple keys sound really damaged, also very primitive pianos choices...hope this new models have improved sound processor. In the end got Kawai ES920. So happy now.

@@alexgoriatchenkovIt's true that GHS action is far from perfect, even though it is rendered better on the P-125/125a than on the P-45.. If you're a demanding pianist, your main digital piano should cost more than 1500 dollars, even if it's just a portable piano, which are the cheapest. Accordingly, I'm unsurprised that you have moved up to the ES920. I have just bought a P-121 for travel and light gigs. My studio/stage piano is a P-255 (not a P-225) and it is a much underrated instrument. Interestingly, the 225 speaker arrangement is copied from the 255, but there the comparison ends. The P-225 is nothing special. The Kawai ES920, however, is very similar to the P-255. The P-255 has an excellent action and many gigging features which are missing on all other P models, and it is discontinued of course. Yamaha is going through some kind of mental aberration, and things just get worse. I can only suppose that the accountants are in charge. Accountants should not be allowed to interfere with things beyond their comprehension, such as art/music/culture which have sublime requirements. The big consolation was the P-121 - a modest but useful highly portable instrument. Suddenly its bigger brother the P-125a has dropped a lot in price. It's a great choice for light playing at the new price. The current price of its replacement, the P-225, is ridiculous.

@@musmuk5350 Because I have studied the market for a long time and I understand the specs and the trends. I know the CF and CFX sounds very well, and although I love many Yamaha products, I can tell when Yamaha is hoodwinking us. Update: Now that the price is coming down, the P-225 might be worth buying. The P-125A has disappeared anyway, and the P-121 too, though it was still a very relevent product. I do hope that Yamaha will produce a (73-key) P-221.

@@Zoco101Unfortunately, P-125a does not have Digital Audio Interface! You are right that Yamaha is releasing toys these days just to sell more of their “pianos”. I have P-515

Honestly, the p125 design is better than p225 design, and it is the greatest difference between them. The Yamaha walk to side with this "new p125".
